Being a homemaker/stay at home mom is truly a vocation. A woman sets the tone in her home. I feel blessed and sometimes the only way to get through an undesired task is to tell myself I'm doing this for God. The Holy Spirit is in my home. In every room. In every corner. He will be pleased and dwell in peace, cleanliness and love. Great video. Thank you.😊

I keep telling myself this. Realizing, just weeks ago, this is a blessing from God; it’s His will. I was a nurse working 50+ hours per week with 4 small children and a husband that worked on the road during the week. I prayed and things transpired that put me in this place. I am now a homemaker and I help my husband with his (our) business. I’m learning to say “our” business, which he prefers me to say. I keep wondering how and why did I push myself to do the job of mom, wife, and career woman. All the things I wanted to do but one important thing is I had no time for me. So I am learning to make time for me; although, I’m home everyday I still find it a hard task to accomplish or even accept. Sometimes I feel guilty for thinking about me because I’m a giver and my inner being is a spirit that is a natural caretaker. Did home go lacking some? To be transparent and true, the answer is yes. Homemaking is a very beautiful job and a very rewarding job. Especially when you see the smiles and joy on your children and husband’s face. It brings me more joy than making great money and things I have obtained. I am yet still learning to accept and become better at my new job. I really don’t want to view it as a job but more as a blessing and will of God. Thank you for sharing. Be blessed❤

I have never ever felt an ounce of regret being a stay home mom. I enjoy a well run home. Always did and always will. Infact, I’m so happy, no matter what the world thinks of us- doesn’t bother me a jot. It’s truly a calling. Like any other career that is valued. 17 years and counting.

I have a very expensive masters degree and a demanding job, but the hardest work I’ve ever done is taking these past three years off to stay home & raise my children ❤
My observation about women who have higher levels of involvement in a career is that having a home and family is on the check off list. Often their real interest is in themselves. That is not a criticism. It’s reality. Reality is better faced than denied. I don’t think that it is very manageable to have more than one primary focus , there is no way to give 100% plus another 100%. Something has to come first. There really are seasons of life.. During the season when your children need you most make those the best years for yourself , your husband, and your children. Remember how you studied hard in college and put lots of effort into obtaining an education? The first serious job you took? Your work to build a solid marriage? All seasons of life ;each lasting for a time and then yielding to inevitable challenges and changes. It isn’t a matter of making a choice to never have any employment or career , or being a stay at home mother for decades. Placing little ones in long hours of care from someone else means they inevitably come second. Everyday is hectic, every hour at home is a rush of laundry, cleaning, and preparing for the next hectic day. It just is. When do you get to take your children to a park or zoo or reading hour at the library? When do you sit at the table and work on puzzles or make things with Play-doh? Why does bath and bedtime have to be rushed and intense? So much to consider.
@@sharondoan1447for the first part of your comment: ew stfu sharon. You are just jealous because you obviously have a low level education. This is not a criticism, you better face the facts rather than deny it. People with this mentality are usually the bad parents that don’t understand that if the parent is ignorant, immature, and has no actual accomplishments or self education, the kid has only bad things to learn from them. How dare you make women feel guilty for prioritizing themselves like men have done for thousands of years. Women can choose now. And most of the time, they do both, somehow., like the woman you responded to. Yes, everyone should consider their choice of having children, and actually think if they want/need/can take care of them. This happens because we are all slaves to capitalism, so the choices are pretty limited by the circumstances created by this modern slavery. Think of what message you are sending and do better!
@@sharondoan1447 I think you possibly misread I’ve been home since 2020 and put my career on hold because I absolutely agree with you! I believe working moms can successfully pull it off, but my personal preference was to stay home.

Same. I am a dietitian with a Master's degree. Staying at home is harder, but way more wonderful. :) No regrets.
I like the phrase "chosen career." Homemaking can be seen as Plan B. But it has always been my Plan A. So thankful God has let me do my dream job. But I definitely don't always see my homemaking day in that light. Thank you for the great video!

Sometimes it gets dropped on a woman's lap, but she takes to it well (better than the life she had before). That's not quite the way it was for me. I was more of a "floater." Nothing quite stuck for long. I could never make a career choice. Nothing fit.
I enjoyed simply being a housewife, but I eventually did find myself needing a challenge after a few years. Then I became a mother. That did it. This is the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life, but it makes the most sense. I try my best at juggling the cooking, cleaning, organizing, and nurturing my family, pets, and plants. "Plan B" is the more hardcore choice, but it's the one that matters the most.

This was wonderful and you are so right. I was a homemaker, an antiques dealer and an artist and teacher yet homemaking always came first. I opted for homemaking as my main career as ts the most wonderful job in the world. A God given one. The love for antiques fit in and the teaching was in a Christian school where I was needed to help spread Gods word. The artist is always there creating nice fun things for mainly my home and others. I am now 75 and God continues to bless me in my life. To God goes all the glory for whatever I do. Thank you for saying all you did in four memorable segments. May God continue to bless you and your family.
I just found your channel and I wanted to send along a few words of encouragement. As an almost 72 year old mother of four, grandmother to 13 and a redeemed believer of 50 years, I am so heartened find a few of you younger wives and mothers which such wisdom and discerning spirits as to what is truly important. The common denominator that you all share is that each of you are professing Christ followers; this is NOT coincidence, but rather a biblical mindset that all of you have adopted and are implementing in your own homes with your own families. This, as you are obviously aware of already, is rare in today’s world; this way of thinking, speaking and doing is mocked, ridiculed and at times persecuted. What you face today is much more insidious as I did back in the 70s, 80s and 90s when I was raising children. We had more support and more like mindedness existed; today, it is almost like every family for themselves, and this is tragic. Try your best by praying, that our Lord will supply you with the support system HE knows that you will need in the years ahead; always bearing in mind that HE and HE ALONE is sufficient should He choose for you to go through a period which seemingly you have no outside support. Sometimes He chooses that as a reminder that He is enough. Keep on THIS path which is an example to others who are struggling to obey, if they are true believers, and those who are not in that place, but are in need of a mentor to help them discover a better way to approach not only this life, but with an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor and sacrifice in the life to come, if they come to Christ in repentance and embrace His gospel of hope eternal. I am a new subscriber and am praying God will continue to bless all that you do in His name.
As the “chosen career” as a homemaker makes sense. I give 110% to being a homemaker and do view it as my daytime job, but the problem I think most moms have is there isn’t a time off. Does that make sense? Like… I am working here, but it never ends. That’s where the burnout happens with us homemaking moms.
Yes, 100% true!:) I think that is where we as moms must carve out time for ourselves to recoup. For myself this looks like having a two hour quiet time every afternoon where I put my kids down and work on something outside of household tasks, a passion project or something. I also get up around two hours before my children to have time alone to pray, to devotions, and workout.
Once my kids are in bed, I listen to a podcast and clean the house and do the dishes. Then take a bath, read, and hangout with my husband. It is those intentional self care moments that greatly cut down on mom burnout for me. ❤️
I just learned homemaking is a ministry. I'm praying the word gets out because we have been lied to by the feminist. Please go viral and educate all the women. Now that I have been home, I see a difference. I couldn't get a teaching job and I told my husband that maybe I was meant to be a homemaker. I looked up homemaking and couldn't believe it is a ministry. Now I pray to afford being home because I still sub as needed and praying my husband gets the job soon that he got hired for. Wow. #1 has really changed the way I look at my homemaking. Until my oldest 2 were 2 and almost 4, I worked part time outside the home. I grew up in a home where my mom always worked full time. I never really considered homemaking as a possibility. I knew I hated leaving my babies when I worked, but it took time for us to realize what was best for our family. Even then, I started a business with my friend and then we started homeschooling, so I've really made so many mental excuses as to why my homemaking performance was so bad. As someone who has supervised and evaluated people in the workplace, I would not want me working for me right now. I hope that makes sense. I am so thankful for my husband's mercy and grace with our home and my mindset, but now it's time for me to show him how thankful I am. Bless you sweet Mama! My youngest is 17 now and the years I was home with my girls were the most difficult but sweetest days. I always wanted to be a full time homemaker and always strived for it. Some years I worked full time as a teacher but the best years were when I was full time at home. We struck a balance for our family with me working part time. One piece of advice I heard was when you are first married always try to live on one income so you always have the option to be a stay at home Mom. I think this is great advice.

Oh yes! We’ve always lived on one income as well. When I taught school for two years before kids, we saved pretty much all of my income . It was such a blessing to have an emergency fun once the babies came.

I love this video! I completely agree with what you said! Being a homemaker is my #1 chosen career, I only became a nurse first because we didn’t have children for the first 5 years of marriage. Being a wife and mom, is my dream-come-true job!

I feel that being a stay at home wife/mom is putting oneself in a vulnerable position.
I agree wholeheartedly....I really love homemaking and have always taken it seriously. I kept a neat, tidy and organized home for my family for 40 years along with having a career in HR.....and always took pride in that. Now I'm retired and am so loving the easier, fulfilling life of a devoted homemaker. I wake up so happy, where my only "have to do's" are homemaking tasks and habits.

I recently realized that my lifelong goal has been to be able to control my time without others constantly telling me what I "have to" be doing. I have achieved that goal within the last 5 years, but I initially became a sahm out of necessity instead of choice and there's been boatloads of trauma for all of us since then. Now we're maintaining but I have no external source of structure (public school, job, etc) and I am floundering. I love the mindset shift of making this my career! 💜

It’s a vocation to being a wife and mother more than it is a job or a career. Vocations take top priority as opposed to a job. We grew up being told how a vocation is more important than finding or going to school for the right job. This video also sparked me to reflect about how women bend over backwoods to please their boss and coworkers but come home and really let themselves go in dress, speech, and attitude around their husband and children. That is discouraging and has an ungodly toll on a marriage and home life. Vocations to motherhood and homemaking seem to take a back burner. Women are naturally nurturing, and it seems it’s all given at work but they are exhausted upon coming home only to find that they have to yet cook a meal and all other things. I was career driven but knowing my vocation takes top priority, I regret nothing about leaving my job to make a home for my husband and children. One income and a growing family, we just know this is not a big sacrifice, it’s just a good solid life and our children are thriving when mom is home and both spouses are embracing their vocation.
This was very encouraging to me and I’ve been in this career for 20 years. Thank you so much.

Beautiful and encouraging words! After 10 years, I recently I went back to full-time teaching while still having four young children (3, 6, 8, and 10). And while I can no longer be considered a stay at home mom, I still very much consider myself a homemaker. Raising children over the past decade has taught me how to multitask like no other career could, and I carry all of those lessons with me as I balance work and home life. ❤

I am celebrating 50 years as a wife, and 47 years as a mother. Home keeping is keeping what is dearest to a family. It is keeping relationships, keeping order, keeping traditions and cherished memories, keeping safe, keeping reverence for our blessings, keeping the wonder of God’s creation, and keeping on, keeping on. When a home is a sanctuary for all of these things, the family learns the true meaning of what God intended a home to be. The most precious things in life are not what we have, they are who we are to each other, and who God is to us. Not many things are learned well without practice, so it is with honoring God. Each task of a home keeper is a way to honor Him, by serving others.

My mother inlaw tells me about job opportunities from time to time. Not overtly.. She'll just conversationally say so-and-so is hiring. I ignore it. I've been a housewife for 13 years and we want it this way. Once she said (since I homeschool).."you could work at x for the summer to help out". 😆
I think you have one of thee most important jobs in the world. You and your choice to be a homemaker effectively impacts society in such a positive way. Thank you for being a homemaker.
Thank you. I’ve been a rather lazy homemaker because of so much of this mindset. Stumbled across this and just felt convicted. It’s not that I don’t do important things, but the HOME is the heart.
I am new to your channel I sooooo wished there was someone like you bk in the day!!!!! I am 60 years old 4 children 6 grandchildren. Back in the day soooo mundane and just could not find my groove. I woke up one day and just decided I would do the very best that I can each and everyday. And I did. I sooooo wished for those days bk but they live in my ♥️ forever!!!! My husband and two Furbabies are all that lives in our home now. I enjoy each task as I do it. I thank the Lord each and everyday for our successful kids and there families. The only thing I would change is how often we see our kids I wished it was more often than not. Sorry to have rambled for a bit. Y’all have a blessed and beautiful day and weekend sweetie ♥️

I would have loved to be a stay at home mom. I think it’s a great thing and if my husband wasn’t sick i would be one too. I hope you all remind your husbands of how wonderful they are for enabling you to do your chosen career. And also just be grateful that this is your life. Make the most of it because things can change in an instant.
I commented a couple of weeks ago about my struggle with this. I really liked that advice about asking yourself if you would fire yourself. I never thought about that before so I’m hoping I can implement that and help myself have more discipline. Also focusing more on the eternal aspects and not wanting instant gratification is another mindset I need some growth in. Thanks for the helpful tips.😊

My last kid just graduated. As I watched my friends raise children, it really was the difference between introverts and extroverts. All the extroverts, "just couldn't do it, they had to work."

Unfortunately, my husband and I were unable to have children. I was a housewife for seven wonderful years, then I had to get a job to help support us. Now the tables have turned, my husband is a chronic migraineur, and I work full time. Being a stay at home wife and mother is a BLESSING! Yes, you have responsibilities, but you also have so much freedom in your days. You don't have to answer to an employer regarding sick days, productivity, competing with other people to get raises and bonuses, fears about being laid off when you hit the company's formula for being too old to remain employed when workforce reductions happen. What I wouldn't give to be just a homemaker again. Ladies, be grateful for every day you have to be at home!

It’s endless repetitive tasks and task management as each gets constantly interrupted. It feels like a prison.
The idea of making it a garden 🪴 is helpful. A prison garden is still pretty and effects the kids or inmates in a pleasant or nourishing way.
This was really encouraging, thank you. I've been in a corporate career previously and am now going 24 months being a full time homemaker. It's been one of the hardest transitions. Almost harder than motherhood itself! This is so helpful for women like me that want to be the best homemaker they can - but it wasn't their initial dream.

I was a stay at home Mom and raised 6 kids. I don’t regret it one bit. I raised my children, not some stranger at a daycare who doesn’t love them like I do. I worked with the my first two before the oldest turned five. I would cry after I dropped them off at the babysitter. I remember seeing people visiting there that gave me the creeps.I would pull them out and get another babysitter, daycare. I realized that no job is worth sacrificing my children for. I made the decision to quit work and stay home with them. Was I a perfect Mom? No! It wasn’t an easy job, but I loved being there for them and making them food and taking them to the zoo, homeschooling them, and taking care of the house, etc. I knew it was what God called me to do. When I was a kid my Mom was home while we were in elementary school. She was always there to take care of us. I remember coming home from school for lunch and she always had a sandwich and hot soup. I would bring my friends home and she would feed them too. It was great! I never forgot that feeling. When she went to work when we got to junior high school, it was lonely when we got home and she wasn’t there to greet us. We also got into more mischief as a result. But those first years were golden and gave me more security in my life.

In my life, the women I admired the most were homemakers. They were very creative in every way - gardening, sewing, decorating, cooking, etc.. It matters and it is very very important. If anyone says anything negative about it, they are jealous. I never wanted my mother to work outside of our home. She was a homemaker and stay at home mother for most of my childhood. I am so thankful that she was able to. I worked part time when our children were growing up and wish I had been home more even though it was part time. Now, I am a fulltime homemaker and love it. Thankful every day.

This is a beautiful video. Homemaking matters. I used to see it as a career after i quit my job, but I have shifted to see it as a role with responsibilities. It's easy to define ourself and our worth by how we are performing and that mindset can transfer from work to home. I love your encouragement to do it wholeheartedly. That gives me permission to do what matters most to me and my family. Carving out space for yourself is so vital because the work is never done and you can lose yourself. I'm a homemaker but I also work the household business in the evenings so it can be a bit daunting some days to keep motivated. That being said, God put it in my heart to raise my little ones myself rather than putting them in daycare only to see them an hour at breakfast and an hour before bed so it's worth the sacrifice. Been working hard lately to make our own bread, laundry detergent, cleaners etc and grow as much of our own food as we can.
Just gotta keep the right perspective in mind and keep grateful.
A little while ago I started feeling like my role was pointless and that because I'm not paid for the work I do, it must be of little value. I knew deep down that's not true but it was burdening my mind. And then I saw something that said Homemaking is THE job, THE ultimate role and ALL other jobs have only ONE purpose- to SUPPORT the ultimate role of homemaking. 🤯 And it's actually true!

Thank you so so so so much 💗 for this video. I have been struggling with this topic alot ! I love being a wife a mother and a homemaker but I think sometimes that's easy to forget what we're doing (making a home for the ones we love , being nurturing ..) I have been struggling with keeping a working routine and also being caregiver for my child who has special needs ( autism ) who is mostly non verbal aside from like 3 words . It can be very frustrating because even though she is 5 years old she can't communicate how she feels or wants or understand what we're trying to tell her . Sometimes I feel like a failure as a mother and a home maker I try to do my best but I get tired and frustrated . I really want to homeschool my daughter and find a good routine that works to make sure I spend time with God , teach and take care of her , spend time with my husband and take care of myself and the home so videos like these help alot . I hope and pray that I can keep growing and be a light in my home for God .

My mother in law told my husband the other day “well she’s the only stay at home mom I know, so she has time to book and plan this vacation for all of us.” For 27 people 8 days in Orlando and every minute must be filled with something and I must make sure everyone agrees on every plan and I must rearrange until everyone agrees and I must make sure all dietary requirements are met at every meal (both gluten and dairy free (but not vegan just dairy))… sure. My son is the one with a dairy allergy… it’s hard when you’re not vegan and still just as expensive if not more…and he has extreme eczema caused by many environmental allergens, not just dairy. So I have to watch everything he touches. I tried to make this an eczema friendly vacation, since I’m, apparently, in charge of plans…. But not really. No one wants to go on an eczema friendly vacation but us… it’s fun being a SAHM 😢🤬😞

I'm just starting my day, thank you so much for the motivation. One thing that keeps me going is knowing this is what my children will remember. I want them to feel like as adults they can come back home (mentally or physically) to a sanctuary when they feel worn down or stressed out. I take solace in memories of being at my grandparents home as a child.. I always strive to have that vibe in my home for my kids. Sometimes I forget and I'm a complainer...which I realized I must stop. P.s. I make herbal infusions too. Today mine is oatstraw:)).

I'm a 54 year old woman who struggled with being a stay at home mom. It wasn't until we were locked down due to Covid that I really appreciated and became passionate about homemaking. I wish I didn't waste those precious years being discontented. Those years with littles was so short. This is such a wise, beautiful, and inspiring video.
Thank you for sharing this!:) ❤️ it is so good for us young moms to be reminded that days with little ones won’t last forever and thus to fully enjoy them. I find myself always picturing having toddlers, then in reality, this time, as you said, is so short.
Well this makes sense. I have gotten to the point where I don’t really like being at home anymore.
That is a sad spot to be, but you are most certainly not alone.
