"Mimosa pudica is a creeping annual or perennial flowering plant of the pea/legume family Fabaceae. It is often grown for its curiosity value: the sensitive compound leaves fold inward and droop when touched or shaken and re-open a few minutes later"

I live in a dry desert climate where plants like this don't grow, but my uncle had one of these as a potted plant in his house for many years when I was a child.
I used to love stroking all of its leaves and watching it close up from the contact. It still fascinates me that some plants can move and behave in such ways. I'll always have fond memories of that plant.
Same these were fun too 😃😃but in my area they grow wild 😅
When I went to Sri Lanka this was everywhere
This plant grows a lot in my country. This wild plant is like a mine with sharp thorns
me too, im from singapore
Yeah. I hate them
Witch country ?
Yeah me too I’m from India
Me too I’m from India and sharp thorns
This is incredible! It actually looks like it’s conducting a choir with the song that’s playing!
I love how it's moving as if it wants to fly ❤
This plant is very cute. I've had this plant at home for generations.
she "sleeps" during the night and so cute, too bad her life cycle is so short but at least the new cements always germinate❤❤❤❤❤
Yes they are very beautiful ❤❤these are also very common In my location these plants are just everywhere Outside in the ground, in my backyard, next to the sidewalk As a kid I saw these after school used to play with them it is just interesting how the close with just one touch😅😅
I always find these in the school field or somewhere with lots of greens. I enjoyed looking around for them and poking them all as a kid

Boxlapse : The Plant That Should Not Be Touched
Also Boxlapse the very first second of the video : *Touch it
😯 True though..... 😉😎✌️
That looks like a sensitive briar. Very nice smelling pink fairy puff flowers. It's like the size and shape of the medium fluff balls that gets glued to cards and kid's artwork.
Nice timelapse. There's also a species of this plant native to Puerto Rico called the "Mori Vivi" which literally translates to Died & Lived. This variety however, has thorns and can only thrive in tropical regions. The commonality though is that being wild plants, they are covered in tiny white hairs that act as micro-sensors which signals the plant that it's time to close up when sensing that an animal or a person is touching it. They may even be more closely related to ferns due to this characteristic, but don't quote me on this last theory, lol.
Dancing & Happy fluttering! We have a few of these in our garden. Brings back happy memories when I was a child
I love your page and your dedication ❤ thanks for sharing
I love how plants teach us that in order to grow, you have you let go of the other leaves
What a cool idea and great execution too!
I live in Indonesia, and in Indonesia the name of the plant is "Putri Malu"
here the plants grow wild and very much, usually they grow anywhere, in the fields, in the forest, even in the yard with other shrubs
I really like that you explore lots of plants, it can be knowledge for other people who have never seen it, I hope you make more time lapses of other plants, cheers🌱
I am in Bali currently and have been touching plants that look like this one but they don't react so I guess they're not the same species?
Just want to add that "Putri Malu" translates to "Shy Princess" or "shy daughter" in English.
Does mangos grow in Indonesia?
@@enesyurtseveryes, mangoes grow in Indonesia, even in almost all areas there are mango farmers, mango trees are also found in many people's yards, mangoes are very easy to plant in Indonesia, in my yard I have two mango trees, and they have fruit every year
@@amiliaayulestari9569 wow amazing I love mangos but here in Turkey mangoes don't grow. I tried to grow one with a mango seed it grew up a little and it died in winter 😊
Amazing~👍
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗

When I lived in counteyside in central India, these plants used to be evrywhere in monsoon. We called it shy plant (लाजाळू झाड). After school who makes all leaves close for the shy plants around was kinda competetion among us young ones 🙂🙂
Yes for me same these plants are just everywhere Outside in the ground, in my backyard, next to the sidewalk As a kid I saw these after school used to play with them it is just interesting how the close with just one touch😅😅 From US
I have a packet of those seeds. They are delicate looking and cool when you touch them. Just don't touch leaves too often or they may not open back up.

Love it :)
What a beautiful flower😊😊😊😊🎉
Mimosa! I used to play with it a lot when I was a kid. Squatting on the ground and stroking its leaves. The flower is pretty, but the thorns are quite spiky.
Beautiful ❤️🥰
Impressive how it moves!!!
Very cool. It reminds me of that plant from avatar that folds itself when it’s touched
ah, a shameplant! got one on my porch right now, love it to bits!
in Indonesia there are lots of these plants and the color is rather purple, and many sharp thorns.
Had many of these in my beautiful home country of Costa Rica
In Sri Lanka, we call this plant as 'Nidikumba' 😊
Cool
Plants creep me out.. This I can watch and enjoy 😎
It does a beautiful dance!
It looks so alive!
Those flowers reminded me of The Lorax.

Mmm... my favorite plant food
in indonesia, there are much of this plant on the rice fields or streets. this plant called "putri malu", usually it's considered as wild weed.
Here in North America we have a plant called the spotted touch-me-not. It's different, though. It's a good remedy for poison ivy rash...

Thats the example of how mother nature is beautiful.
I have these in my lawn.
That is one wacky plant !!
I love these plants! Just never had luck growing them. What light conditions do they need?
Indirect light
Tropical climate
In malayalam kerala it was our തൊട്ടാർവാടി
In Espírito Santo (Brazil), this plant is called "dormideira"
We called it Putri Malu (The Shy Princess) in Indonesia, coz they're shy if you touched it
And it's also the invasive species, and spiny too (which is I hate)
Is a wild plant, also some specie of the genus Mimosa are bushes and small trees
Do you keep it indoors? Could you please provide a guide on how to keep it? Mine just recently died...
It’s like flapping it’s wings like a butterfly
Zombie plants (if that’s what they’re for sure called) are really cool, I wanna try to grow one again
Yeah same these plants are just everywhere in my location Outside in the ground, in my backyard, next to the sidewalk it is just interesting how it just closes with just one touch😅😅
🌱Touch me, Touch me not.🌱
You almost get a sense of it pulling itsself up out of the soil
Can you upload how to grow guava fruit?
Can you give us an update on the mango

LOW ❤ BOX LAPSE
Она просто стеснительная 😊
This is the mariposa plant also known as makahiya in filipino❤
In my country we called it shy princess
It's anywhere in my place (in Indonesia) 😅😂.. it's called "Putri Malu" (Shy Princess / Girl)
Hello! What camera did you record with?)
In Viet Nam it’s native here and we call it “the shy plant” because they simply thought when we touch it, it will become shy and close its leaves
Plant the fastest plant in the sleep
I don’t understand - what’s the purpose of the magenta bulbs with all the hairy bits growing off of them? I assumed they’d proliferate spores or something but they just shrivel up and die? Clearly I’m missing something and I’m curious!
bro when I went to Sri Lanka these were everywhere
👌
They are in the fabeacea family, right
Right, this plant has a pea-like fruit as other Fabaceae plants
I seriously want to know how these videos are made
Please let me know what is the name of tree

Why do they close up?
In My country this planta calls sleepy
Ya ampun. Inimah tanaman putri malu. Termasuk tanaman liar yang tumbuh di kebun atau ladang yang banyak rumput liarnya. Bisa2nya nyampe di konten ini 😁
I had one, It was big enough to have the flower but then, a fungal or something killed it...

The tamarind seed does the same thing when it grows.
Can't believe it's flowers only last for a day or two before wilting. 🙃
