What a match. The game had many Nigerians apprehensive on the outcome. Osimhen creativity was top notch and resulted in those two early goals. I think we need another starting winger apart from Chukwueze. Yes, I know he has a lot to offer as a player. I can still remember the exploits of the trio (Chukwueze, Osimhen, & Nwakali) at the u17 world cup in 2015. The coach should bring in Chukwueze during the second half to change the dynamics of the game. Our midfielders should be more definite in their possessional passes otherwise, we would be creating situation that resulted in the SL first goal. Once we lose the ball in the midfield, the recovery is slow. I also observed Iwobi and co making unnecessary dribbling. There were situations he had the opportunity to just release the ball to another Nigerian player and move on with the game but rather he choose to dribble past two SL players who effectively displaced him of the ball. I just can't understand that , we use to call that "No football sense" Football is a team sport and you must play to your advantage along with your team mates.
Summary of Nigerian football Super Eagles - good attack, no midfield, poor defence, no keeper Under 20: No attack, okay midfield, solid defence, good keeper Under 17: No attack, superb midfield, poor defence, poor keeper. The senior team needs to visit the under 20 for it's MF play while our scouters for the youth team need to hunt for better attackers
The sad thing is the u17 ist choice midfield was dropped. If we had tge 1st choice midfield we would have won that u17 afcon. Anyways I think we will have alot of midfielders in the future to feed Osimhen and Orban.
