Not many knives that get this much pre-release hype, at this price point. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
How much $? And when do they come out??
@@carlostovar8585 $150 retail. They are being released next Friday at Blade Show in Atlanta. Then, to retail vendors. There is a list of vendors on the Demko website. My guess is that the first release will sell out quickly, but the word on the street is that these will be regularly restocked.
150 for plastic and aus10 lol. Made in Taiwan same as cold steel. Better off with a CS ad10
@@hyssean12 No doubt that there are knives with more premium materials out there. But the AD-10 and the AD-20.5 are totally different animals. The 20.5 is very reasonably sized for EDC, and even office carry. I'm carrying mine this summer and even in lightweight shorts. Until you hold one, it is hard to imagine how thin it is. The AD-10 is a brute and IMHO intended for a greatly different use. Premium materials appear to be coming in the next few years by the folks in PA. But, I expect the prices will be considerably greater.
Demko bros are extremely smart to scale these down. They have a true winner, future iconic knife, and a solid base to grow and expand on. Can't wait! Future looks bright!
Totally agree. Going the Mass market route instead of the RHK and CRK route will mean much more $$$ for them.
@@TECHFIGHTER It also makes it really hard for the Chinese cloners to justify making AD20s when there is already an affordable option to compete against.
Nothing special at all about it besides the lock. It's plastic and aus10.
@@IlliniDog01 there are clones of plenty of $150 knives
Definitely my most anticipated piece by a MILE
The hype got you.
Yaaassssss I’m so excited! I’m so happy you got your hands on one. I remember watching you since your PM2 Blurple Video and now I just look forward to when new knives are released that I know you’ll get! This one I’ll be trying to get as well...
The colors matched with the stonewash makes this an extremely attractive and exquisite knife.
im going to need to get me one of those sharksfoots 👀
Checks all the boxes for me!
Under 4oz.
Strong lock!
Thin handle!
Heavy jimping!
Good steel!
For $150 it has cheap steel
Really good looking knives. Great video!
Those look great. I can’t wait to get one.
"Lmao" "still has that same noise" too funny!!! That first one you opened is sweeet! I gotta have it.
Holy cr4p, so glad we're going to be able to get something with the shark lock at a budget price.
Can't wait to see the beat down videos, to see how rugged they are.
I really had my hopes back in the day for a CS one, but this will scratch that itch.
Thanks for the upload and comparisons.
If I get one and I like it, which I'm sure I will, I'm going to need every version of it
Maybe a battle to the death between ad 20.5 and para 3?
Finally got one a year after release and I am glad I waited for aftermarket stuff to come out because I ended up with the textured titanium 3V version. All I need to change now is the clip... kinda wish a similar clip to the original existed just easier to insert in the pocket.
Since I'm not good at sitting at my computer and staring at dealer inventory all day....I'm glad they are already planning for a significant second drop. ;)
Well, I think we may have found one that I have to put on my list to pick up at Blade show. And I think that shark's foot is speaking to me. Would be a terrific box opener and EDC knife. Thanks so much for the video. Very cool
Those are going to be great EDC knives at that price point! Looking forward to their release
I’d suspected based on materials and Demko’s relationship with Cold Steel that they were made by the same OEM, but I’m glad to hear it confirmed. No complaints about the work they did on the 4Max Scout.
I was so excited to get one. I am still hesitate though at $150 for AUS10 and Grivory. Love the lock and EDC size. Hmmmm
I really hope they make alot of them. That ad20 is hard to get.
Just curious if anyone has a ballpark figure...
What is a release quantity for a knife like this (or civivi button lock)? 1,000... 5,000...75,000?
I predict these will be EVERYWHERE. They will rival SOG, Gerber, CRKT as far as mass production and availability for everyone. The value will be in the knife itself and not in its collectability. Which is a huge positive for knife USERS but not for knife collectors.
@@TECHFIGHTER I have never seen an numbers that indicate drop quantity of any of those makers for any model. I am just curious what a drop for a typical knife is? This channel has about 25k subscribers and it sounds like just about everyone wants one. Metal Complex has 50k and the same thing (obviously a lot of carryover between the two). How many customs (all variations of the same) are made? the Pilar? Elementum? a ZT model?
Curiosity killed the cat....I have no clue but I am interested to know what a 'popular' models sales numbers are for a year.
@@nachoisme what happens when a lot of the subs want both?
@@nachoisme I would err on the side of caution and guess that the number of these will be low for for first few shipments. Demko has to pay up front for all of these and that’s a huge expense. Unless dealers have paid him before he receives product shipments from the oem in Taiwan, I’d venture to say it’ll be smaller batches at first; then larger ones after the profit from these is realized.
i was planning on getting a button lock elementum but ive gotten more focused on other knifes and honestly forgot it existed
Love both of these but I might hold out for a tanto version.
Man I can't wait! I hope I don't miss the first wave.
I want one sooo much! I bet if these do well he'll make a S30V version.
Andrew, please keep making these high strength folders at affordable prices.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Man such a nice knife.. Can't decide between this or the TRM Shadow..
Love these.I hope Andrew Demko makes these in 4 inch blade versions with Aus10 steel...Its just a daydream hope I am having.
I’d love to hear your take on the full ti 20.5.
There's a pre-order tomorrow in Canada and I'm considering doing that instead of getting the XM-18 I wanted.
Great knives, no matter what size you get.
Great video, nice knife, highly anticipating it's release after Blade, lovin' it blah blah blah, Who we kiddin' here, the star of this show is our old friend, formerly M.I.A. Hello Scale! Praise be to ye Gods of the Weights & Measures; He's back! As expected, the lil' fella did his job with zero pomp & circumstance. Good stuff
Can't wait!
I can’t wait!
I think I am going to have to get the Shark's foot. So so nice.
Now to get the blade shape you don't have or to have a nice little set... Decisions, Decisions...
FedEx finnaly stop playing with the package 😂
I'am so stoked about this knife
If I didn’t have the 20 I would get one. Fun fun knife.
I still hope to pick up an AD20 at some point, so I'll probably go with the Shark's Foot version of this one for variety. I wonder if they'll be releasing any other colors of grivory? One in that Lime green that they do would be an instant buy for me as a hiking knife. But who am I kidding, this grey one will be an instant buy for me anyway.
Great videos!
I can’t decide which I want either 🤣
Happy they made this, just wish they used better steel
Wow, that SharksFoot is rad, and the price seems reasonable!
Looks like a good user. I'd rather have a ad20 but ill take this if I can snag one.
Personally, I am more excited for the Vero Isotope. But the 20.5 is sweet.
The blade length is different between the two blade shapes, and in this case it is important to note because while the sharksfoot blade is just below 3", the clip point is just over 3", making it illegal to carry in some places.
Dang these will be nice prizes
What did you mean by different variants?
As a lefty, I am very hyped. Perfect EDC size, too. Any colors?
Just grey for now.
I passed on a hinderer to save for both variants of this....
Lol wtf
So basically you passed on a great knife for a cheap cold steel knife.
@@hyssean12 yes yes i did sean h
now i have 2 xm's and no ad20.5's...lol
I want both
I Just discovered a problem. SLF. Shark lock finger. I got my clip point at REC 4 days ago and I’m ripping the skin off my index finger from too much shark lock activation. 😳😖
What is the fit and finish like on these? I'm usually expecting powder metallurgy steel at a price range of $120 to $140. But if it's a great fit and finish then I could let that slide.
Same as cold steel knives. So not to great
That sharksfoot is real sweet
A $150 regular Spyderco Delica with a fancy lock. Crazy.
I'll take one of each.
Kinda hoping in a little bit they make a G10 with some at least S30V, obviously for some more $. Would be a definite buy. Not sure about the grivory or the AUS-10A.
Very interested in this (like everybody else lol) regardless.
5:25 “This is meant to be more of an edc kinda size.” Lol, I carry a 4max everyday. But I’m a bit different.
Do a battle to the death with the Code 4!!
Knoice AD waiting for the drop

Surly the shark Fin would be a Hot spot ?
Your palm is never anywhere near it.
Very cool design innovative lock but $150 for plastic handle & Aus 10 blade ? Company's like Spyderco We-Knives, Civi , Real Steel Can pull off Micarta ,G-10 , Carbon Fiber , & N690 , D2 ,154cm S30 ,S35 at this same price point .
Ah come on no s35vn or s30v?!
A little pricey for the materials used but definitely a gotta have!
when you add it to your wishlist on bladehq the price comes up as 150
Andrew said in the interview they didn’t know yet.
@@dubaibank It won’t. I said exactly that in the video.
@@SliceyDicey do you think it’s just a glitch or what bladehq is anticipating?
I like them, but over 100 for AUS10 and plastic? I dunno about that...
As for price....The Demko Knives website has them up listed at $149.99, (but, of course, not yet available). MOST of the time, that means the retailers come in somewhat lower, but that's not always the case depending on the manufacturer. Blade HQ just listed them today as "Coming Soon", but without a price yet.
(So, basically, I've added nothing the pool of knowledge). :)
Blade HQ is 150. Price comes up when you add it to your wishlist.
@@regan.8077 I see that now. Could be a placeholder, since they aren't publicizing that price on their main page. Will be interesting to see where the price does finally shake out....
That pivot screw doesn’t look like it matches with the frn am I the only one seeing a gap ?
Yeah.. that’s gonna have to happen.
Between the handle and blade materials i feel like the price is too high to be paying for just the lock.
I agree with you!
The shark lock looks for fidget, like botton locks. My question, is it as strong as the Demkp triad lock ?
*Giddy school girl squeels*
I like that they have a landing spot for the pocket clip, but I don't love that weird shape and hate the gray (but at least it's easy to dye).
Just hope they live up to their word on availability. The last couple of years have been ugly on that front in the knife industry across the board and the amount of hype that this knife is getting tells me that there's a roughly 0% chance I'll be able to get one on the first (or probably second) batch. Hopefully this will become a constant production model after the inventory catches up with demand and not be released in drops like way too many companies are doing now.
🦈🖤😎
Its gonna be like black Friday at Wal-Mart when these drop...
Hmmmmm so Demko Knives and not cold steel for the budget AD-20...interesting
So much for taking a break from knife purchases. :/
Man, I feel ya
The supply will not meet the demand. I really want the sharksfoot version
Man I love Demko and I love the design but.... if that knife comes in at $140 for AUS10 and “grivory” I think that’s high. I mean cmon.
I agree, it's like $40 too much.
Preorders are available at Knifecenter.com if you want to try and get one!
Just a thought maybe your not allowed to, but as this knife is so desirable why not auction it for charity?
AUS10?! Pass
Looks Great...AUS10....Overpriced! Competitive blade material and brand names out there worthy of my $$$$
Pick me, pick me!!!
Another knife that is constantly sold out
