This knife...it's been a while since I crushed on a knife the way I am on these. I bought the clip point in orange grivory. After handling this knife I didn't want to put it down! I just got my Shark Foot in green grivory and my orange micarta scales for my clip point. I'm looking at what's available to replace the scales on my OD green Shark Foot. Like one of the other comments said, can't wait for the Flytanium scales! Until then it's going to be micarta. Thanks for sharing this video with us! 🇺🇸

It would be nice if there were U.S. manufacturers that would make these knives for the smaller knife designers. Same goes for lots of products, really.
Just take what you spent in the item, add 200% and throw that money away, as good as "Made In The USA". I seriously can not think of a single thing made in the US that is considered top of the line, though I'm sure we have at least a few.
@@NickShabazz It's more of a business model where asian manufacturers seem to be more open to manufacturing items for anyone willing to cough up the money for the required tooling and buy at a minimum quantity. For example, Dave Canterbury does this for his Pathfinder line of bushcraft supplies and Demko does this for his 'budget' line of knives. Bigger production facilities can and will produce these things for less money. It's too bad we don't have bigger production companies adopting this model in the U.S.
@@rabbitslayer42 The problem as I see it, having worked at half a dozen manufacturers in 3 different states, is that our products should be more cost effective but U.S. companies have a hard time adopting good, proven manufacturing processes like lean and Kaizen. The ones who adopt these systems don't seem to care how well they are implemented, at least from what I've seen. They do it for the number projections but have a hard time with long term follow through because it's a long-sighted approach. I want to see the U.S. become a more competitive market for manufacturing and I think we could if our mindset could shift from this quarter's bottom line to a more ling term, sustainable strategy. Add flexibility to manufacture products for other people like in Asia and who knows, our costs might just go down.

I got mine last week and have been enjoying it. Took mine apart a few days ago and was surprised how easy it is. Took one of my Axis locks apart the next day and was reminded how hard it is. Question: is there any value in lubricating the side of the sharklock thingy? Seems like it might rub against the liners so I put a little lube on mine. BTW, I think you forgot to lube the 2nd bearing on the side that faces the liner.
@@marvinbrock960 Well it’s not rocket surgery, but in comparison? Yes, it’s more difficult especially for a full disassembly. Watch Nick’s video on disassembling the Benchmade Ritter Griptilian. My Benchmade Anthem (still my #1) is easy but I’ve never tried to remove the Axis lock mechanism on it because I know that will be a PITA.
Nick, when I disassembled I noticed the bearings weren't symmetrical - one side is flat, and the other more rounded. Can't figure out which is correct on reassembly! 🤔
@@Cpc333 there will certainly be all sorts of variations since these are going over so well. I want a 20CV blade and titanium scales like the full size but at $250-300 bucks.
Not sure if you will see this but I have a question about swapping the bearings on this knife for washers. Is it possible? If so, how do I know what to get in terms of replacement washers? Thanks NS!
Not sure it’s been done yet. But you could always stack as many washers as u need to perfectly fit the width that the bearings were and boom, it’s on washers.
Nick I just got this knife in D2 from knifecenter. Mine has developed a shriek or squeak when i deploy it. Tried oiling several times. Its a very stubborn and ANNOYING squeak. Sounds like a gas station knife 😤. I didnt completely disassemble it as i cant see any greasable area that cant be reached with a precision oiler pen. I use 3 in 1 PTFE lubricant. Should i use something else?
The longer I handle and use mine the less the materials used seem to matter - the look isn't very premium, but the feel is - pretty solid, IMHO! That being said, I'll upgrade the scales when I can - but more to make it mine than for any other reason.
Weak? It is not weak anywhere in the slightest. Probably stronger than any knife in its weight class, easily. There are videos of guys hitting it with rubber mallets to split wood here on UA-cam, zero play or issues after it. Some of cold steels knives are made with the same or lesser materials and they’re bullet proof, tried and tested facts.
They’ll surely do another run soon. It’s like any new popular knife. You’ve got to get a little lucky to find one early. I got very lucky. I have one of each blade shape. I love both but I’ve decided to sell the clip point.
The first thing I heard in my head when I saw that smiling shark sticker when I opened my box from DLT Trading was, "Hello....my name is Bruce!"

Hi Nick, is there like a machining mark in the thumb slot? In your video, I could kinda see some lines there.
I noticed that mine has some rough machining flaws inside that hole that I didn't see at first. It's annoying but fixable.

The spring being under tension in closed positions is a terrible idea.. 3 years and that is gonna die on you and work harden
