I will always be amazed how people make their islands seems so big. I run out of space so quickly. Especially when you're making layer building. Just wow.
Don't forget, you do not have to redo your island. You can try out some ideas over at HHP. However, bummer that I can not raise cliffs over in HHP for faux buildings. I built a bunch of childhood memory homes over at HHP. When I built my own house, it came out very cluttered. Maybe "authenticity" is not always such a good thing?

Every time I think I've seen every little design trick, something pops up to surprise me. Using the shell lights as curtains for the train windows is so clever it's unreal! What a cozy island

Amazing island!. But on music, I am not a fan. There is so much to hear in ac and the background music drowns out the subtle sounds. It's nice to leave the music off at "home".
I have been shutting off my villagers' music, because I like giving them an Antique Clock, a Pendulum Clock, or a Cuckoo Clock. Because when I take a nap, I like to park my human character in their house, and let their clock chime on the hour to the time in the real world. But my human houses still have a lot of the shuffled music. I don't really like hanging out in my own house, because it is just me, a bit boring. But lately, I can't seem to play during the day, because my TV needs replacing, the backlight LEDs, a lot of them are not lighting up, so it is hard to see during the day. But I need to organize my home before I go buying another TV. I do not watch TV anymore anyway, the TV is a liar and messes with your mind. But it makes for a great video game monitor.

Feng shuiiii, they make a lot of little areas that work as a whole together.
