Hello, I'm from Mexico, when I ordered the gil gloves, the owner was the one who attended me personally, they are handmade, 100% handmade, they use products of the highest quality, they also manufacture masks, sacks, bibs, pears and more accessories. excellent prices, they do not envy anything to zepol, casanova etc etc The variety of colors is truly endless! Made in Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico

After ordering a pair of (8 oz) GIL training gloves for my seven-year-old son, we quickly realized that I'd made a grave mistake. I will say they're a beautiful and simple design, the leather and stitching is of premium Mexican quality, but they hurt his knuckles to the point where they're utterly unusable. And, yes, of course, he uses hand wraps.
Considering that his hands were hurting while punching my focus mitts, and that he never had any pain when using his old Reyes youth training gloves (that he outgrew), then it's got to be the padding of the gloves. Once he started punching the mitts with the GIL gloves, I immediately noticed that he was punching differently, and in a bad way, as if it hurt his hands - and they were.
I wanted to like them, especially because I don't feel like a seven-year-old needs a pair of Winning, but now--after being burned one too many times for trying to buy on the cheap, I'm not so sure that a pair of Winning isn't the better option.
There's nothing at all macho about trying to show how 'tough' you are by using uncomfortable gloves with poor padding and pretending that you're not injuring your hands when you actually are.
Thank you for your honest review.

If you're located in the US it's possible you git a fake pair because they're similarly priced to cleto gloves just so uou know so just try to make sure you know who you're buying from🙏❤

Gils are not for kids and even at 8oz they must have been huge on him..
As far as I am aware they have never made a kids glove.

I’m considering some 10oz lace ups, does the quality carry over? Are the wrist big?

These gloves are rough. The everlast MX trainer is pretty similar to these i think in a few ways. You guys should pick up a pair of new sporting i think it's the best Mexican glove 🥊🥊

I agree. Yes they are rough but they look like they will last forever but the discomfort is there. Spoiler alert, MORIR EN LA RAYA gloves dropping in the future. 💯🥊

The 2 issues with a lot of Mexican gloves is they are not on weight and not great on comfort.

Agree. I've tested a few gloves and for the most part this is true. Don't want to give to much info away but WE are coming out with our own MORIR EN LA RAYA gloves. Stay tuned. 🥊

I collect and review boxing gloves myself so maybe I'll have to get pair from you guys. I want to try a pair of 1V1 and a pair of Russian Boxer gloves. The Russian boxer gloves are made by the same manufacturer as Grant and is the same exact gloves with a different logo on them for 400 dollars less

TOO HEAVY. The thumb padding are template cut with the body foam. Mexican style so they are awkward . They've not learned from Winning . They need to make them sleeker . Have more padding at the finger tips and the palm area . They need to mix EVA foam with their latex .

    • @morirenlaraya2712

Yes. Over weigh. And agree, awkward to me when I wore them.

Reviewers get confused as they review the glove before its broken in.
