      MEMORIES is my favorite. It’s a personal to me for my reasons.
      But also because I know Elvis gave Mac Davis a couple of lines & asked Mac Davis to write the song. Mac Davis tells a story about it on his video about talking about Elvis. It’s a cute story. You can see it here on you tube. I like it’s now or never too allot.

    This movie has made me miss him all over again. I'm 72 and grew up with his movies, the 68 special and then Vegas. I didn't pay attention to the 50s years, too young. However, the movie shows us why he was so controversial and why the audiences went nuts! I watched Austin go from 19 to his 40s I the movie and it was a miracle. But it wasn't just the make up. It was the exact moves Elvis made each time he performed. I saw him in Vegas in 1971. I know what those shows looked like. Now I know why it took Austin almost 2 1/2 years to become elvis. I wonder if he'll EVER, shake the king. Oscars for Austin, Tom Hanks, Baz and Catherine Martin. Austin did not walk on set and suddenly become Elvis. That's impossible. It took such dedication and hard work. It's appropriate that finally we're going back to the theater and THIS MOVIE IS OUT NOW.

      Hollywood was like that to him and only one person is responsible Tom Parker. Now we had seen him in the movie, I bet you he was like in your face kind of person to get what he wanted. Elvis at liked the excitement, but in the end he hated it. Hollywood can't handle someone who was not an ass kisser. Elvis I believed spoke his mind a lot. Establishment can't handle a popular man, a talented man and a beautiful man loved by everyone.

      After Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, the African American newspaper, the Chicago Defender explained that: “When Elvis Presley breathed his last breath and the press hailed him as the ‘King of Rock,’ Ol’ Man River cried out, ‘Naw he ain’t! My friend Chuck Berry is the King of Rock. Presley was merely a Prince who profited from the royal talent of a sovereign ruler vested with tremendous creativity. He had a lot of joy and a sense of humour. He was a beautiful person inside and out. He belonged to everybody and no one. He brought the race relations to music. I wish someone could have helped him from himself and colonel Parker. Parker was an empty man and he had Elvis on a short leash to keep up with Parker’s gambling bets. This was excellent and so was this movie. He was a truly creative artist and his legacy was a deep love of music. More remix of Little Less Conversation is due to the techno realm long before that style but there was some reluctance to let them remix the song because Elvis did not like the idea of technology doing something to the song that he could not do naturally thus leave him unable to sing the it for fans at concerts.
    Elvis produced all of his own music, had complete creative control inside the studio, he might not have written a lot of his own songs, his versions often had the original artist in such awe of what he did and get it to places the only Elvis could conceive leaving some to never sing it again because Elvis always made a song his own.
    If people think he stole black music is ridiculous every song comes down to one of a kind voice. However, Elvis influenced every artist that came after him and how we listen to music so his changes are still felt today.

    I think that it is important to note the impact Elvis is making on young kids now which is hugely important for the coming generation for how they perceive the musical industry and stardom. That being said, I also think it is important to note many of the downright false controversies surrounding Elvis that many social media platformers have been spreading about him. First, his relationship with Pricilla. Everyone knows they met when Presley was 24 and she was 14. That in and of itself is strange, but that’s were many people stop. I think it’s appalling that some of these influencers have the audacity to bring this information to the internet and especially to young impressionable people without giving them the proper context. While Elvis did meet her when she was 14 that was about it. He only knew her through her father who was Elvis’ commanding officer. He never did anything with her romantically and it was merely a meet and greet. He wouldn’t meet her again until she was 17 with 16 being the legal age of consent back then. Elvis never asked to see her but she begged her parents and Parker, Elvis’ manager, to see him again. When she was 18 that’s when the two began to hang out together more, but never did anything intimate. They finally decided to officially get together when Pricilla was 21. Elvis never once asked her to do anything that she was uncomfortable with. She clearly states that in all of her interviews that Elvis never took advantage of her or acted in any predatoral way like how most people claim. I think it’s ironic how these young folk who just now have discovered Elvis through the new film think they know everything about Elvis’ life because they watched one film and one UA-cam video . Pricilla herself found no issue with Elvis in the first place and has been on record multiple times stating how professional and caring Elvis was. Legit you can’t make a claim that he’s a predator when you know absolutely nothing about him as a person. Another controversy is the whole “cultural appropriation” thing. I think those people need to take their meds.

      Elvis groomed Pricilla though since she was 14. Grooming doesn't start with sexual at first.

    • @memesouls8653
      @memesouls8653 Рік тому

      @@petermj1098 Elvis did not groom her “since 14”. The only known case of that happening if from Pricilla which at first seems like a creditable source, but when you take into account how often she changes her story and opinion of her late husband you really gotta take what she says with a grain of salt. In her book Elvis and Me she bashes Elvis and says how he groomed her and was very controlling, but according to many if not all of Elvis’ close friends, that was very out of character for him. Another thing worth noting is how many “facts” she states about Elvis’ personality are blatantly false such as the how she said he was a germaphobe but you can clearly see from interviews and videos online that he wasn’t and all of his friends claim he wasn’t the most sanitary person ever. Of course her book made a lot of money for her and she stuck with the story for a long time, but once this new film came out all of sudden she’s commenting how nice and amazing Elvis was as a person to appeal to mass audiences and surly she is getting a cut from the film. If you want a more accurate perspective of The King you should listen to Elvis’ last girlfriend and fiancé Ginger. She has probably one of the most sincere and honest view on Elvis as a person. She doesn’t ignore his issues but doesn’t over blow them like how Pricilla does. Like Pricilla once claimed Elvis gave her sleeping medication in order for her to wake up the exact same time he did in order to control her life, but she was disproven by many of Elvis’ close friends who said Elvis never forced her or even asked her to use the medication he used, she was having trouble sleeping and told him to give her some. It’s little things like that that can alter the appearance of someone drastically. While he probably shouldn’t have given her any, she was already an adult and could make her own decisions. Also on the subject about how he “groomed her since she was 14”, that’s just false. Elvis MET her when she was 14, but merely as a meet and greet as she begged her father who was Elvis’ commanding officer at the time to see the star which he obliged to and the two met but more of just as a celebrity meeting their fan. The two talked for a bit and Elvis soon left and in like a week was already back home in the U.S. She would send him postcards every day begging him to ask her parents if she could come over and visit, but he either ignored those postcards (as he probably had thousands coming in) or he just declined them. It was only that YEARS later that she would meet him again under pressure from the Colonel and his friends to see her to start a relationship which Elvis clearly didn’t want and wasn’t comfortable with. At that time Elvis and Pricilla were just friends which Elvis had noted how she looked a lot like his mother who had passed a couple years before. This made him very vulnerable at that time since he was still struggling with the loss of his mother, which he never really got over, and all he really wanted was a real friend to help him. That’s why the two got so close and even after their divorce talked endlessly because they have both been on record as saying they preferred to be friends rather than lovers. So really if you want to talk about a groomer talk about Colonel Parker who not only groomed Pricilla into marrying Elvis as she was a young impressionable girl, but also Elvis throughout his entire career essentially.

    Wonderful that you covered his Health - The cause of the pills in the FIRST PLACE. Alot of CLUELESS PEOPLE assume he was "overweight " because of cheeseburgers or Peanut butter banana sandwiches 🙄. Elvis quit performing on stage as much because of his MAJOR HEALTH problems. He suffered a Traumatic brain injury (a series of 4 in his lifetime actually). The last one being in 1967. He tripped over a TV cord and hit his head on a porcelain tub and knocked him out for over 6hrs!!! He even seen his Mom talking to him!!! DR Nick was called in immediately and this was before MRI'S!! The most underappreciated factor in the decline of Elvis Presley's health and early death was repeated head trauma. It is now recognized that multiple head trauma can cause an autoimmune inflammatory disorder that can attack any organ in the body. Contemporary terms for the pathologic developments that may occur following head trauma are post-concussion syndrome, TBI, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Some of the post-trauma symptoms include memory loss, obsessive-compulsive traits, and irrational or illogical behavior.Elvis demonstrated many of these obsessive-compulsive and erratic behaviors at different times.A retrospective analysis of Elvis' head trauma clearly shows that Presley developed or accelerated his autoimmune inflammatory disease after his most serious head trauma in 1967. His previous bouts of head trauma probably contributed to his deterioration, as multiple head traumas are cumulative in effect. Autoimmunity following TBI has historically been believed to occur as a result of hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction. A new belief is that head trauma causes brain tissue to be jarred loose, and leak into the general circulation through the blood-brain barrier.²² Brain tissue is not supposed to enter the blood circulation because it is toxic or antigenic to the rest of the body. If this truly occurs, and this author believes it does, it acts like an infectious agent or vaccine in that it causes antibodies to form. These antibodies then become "auto" and start attacking normal tissue. It's even possible these abnormal antibodies attack and further damage the brain.Elvis clearly had a disease process that had affected multiple organs-stomach, liver, spine, and eyes-but at the time, his physicians had no idea that he might have had a progressive autoimmune inflammatory disorder. The concept of autoimmunity was just starting to be understood. Much to his credit, Dr. Nick gave Elvis the diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome, and believed his headaches were a result of his head injury of 1967. Dr. Nick related to me that, "Elvis was never the same after he hit his head in 1967."Dr. Nick prescribed only two of the many drugs found in his serum. What no one knew at the time was that some drugs, particularly opioids, may interfere with cardiac conduction and cause a fatal, sudden heart stoppage from cardiac arrhythmia. The most notorious example is torsades de pointes, a prolongation of the QT interval, which may occur when opioids and other drugs are taken together. This toxic reaction will most likely occur in a patient with existing heart disease. I now believe that Elvis' death was partially due to codeine, because he had obtained codeine from a dentist the day before his death. He took several tablets and had a serum level 10 times the therapeutic range.Just a few weeks before his death, Elvis became ill while touring in Louisiana. He developed nausea and symptoms of intestinal flu. He also had pulled a hamstring and strained his back. He entered Baptist Memorial Hospital for the fourth and last time on April 1, 1977. Anemia was found along with his chronic hepatitis, lung disease, glaucoma, hypertension, and megacolon.

    "Hound Dog" was written by Leiber and Stoller - a famous duo who wrote many hits including Jailhouse Rock. The were two white Jewish men. Most people think Elvis took this hit from Big Mama Thornton. Big Mama wrote Ball and Chain later covered by Janis Joplin - sounds like an almost completely different song. Elvis did not want to copy or even make a hit out of it. He decided to give it a fun spin. Leiber and Stoller believed Elvis was a great actor in the making - see King Creole. Col Parker refused to let that happen. Elvis was offered the part of Mike in West Side Story, but because of he social message, refused Elvis for the role. This is where his comeback comes in. After singing If I Can Dream, he didn't want to sing another song, he didn't feel on a deep level. So, in 1969 he put his foot down with Col Parker and insisted on singing a song EVERYBODY turned down - In The Ghetto.

    I mean the movie didn't suggest Parker was a car is when he discovered Elvis, it was apparent that he was in the music business, the COUNTRY music, business, as the movie says. They used the carnival as a backdrop to lay the preface, of Elvis as a child and Colonel as a Carney, but both loved the carnival,and Elvis would later rent out the fairgrounds after hours to ride all the rides overnight, so it was acty a fitting way to do the preface to the actual story. Colonel was at a Louisiana Hayride show the first time he saw him perform and he saw how Elvis had an almost hypnotic effect on the crowd. But, there were a lot of mixing and matching of events and history, but I was fine with most of it.

    Elvis was a gift to us from God. As with any gift you need to cherish it and Elvis had no one to do so. Instead he was treated like a circus animal by Tom Parker. Even race horses have time to rest after a race … but Tom Parker made Elvis perform until he could perform no more. Then Pricilla breaks his heart by leaving him. He may be the King but he still was a man and someone that needed a little tenderness. Wonder if he had someone that cared about him would he still be alive.
