The Addams family is funny bc it criticizes average families way of life: they sound weird, but act exactly as any family. They lunching together, go to school, etc. They are as normal as our neighbor or ourselves.Only in a very excentric way .
well yeah. funny thing is.. they don't seem to go to work, none of them!
they gotta be rich. also, they love to bond.. instead of ''everybody for himself''
@@MJoy4Fun Yes, they are very, very rich. And about they going to work , well, you've go to watch part 2...
@@MJoy4Fun Gomez seems to be a businessman who does it really good
I think my favorite line has to be when the uniformed girl (who has just made a big deal about whether or not lemonade is made from real lemons) is asked by Wednesday if her Girl Scout Cookies are made from real girl scouts. 😆🍪🤣
hahaha i see! ok okkk
@@MJoy4Fun the actress is in the sequel too
@@a.g.demada5263She later played Harmony, a recurring character in the Buffy universe.
@@mattburgess5697 I don't watch that serie
The weirdest family. And yet the most loving, supportive, and loyal of families.
i guess so! was thinking the same
Interning fact about the Addams family is that Mortica and Gomez were the v first married couple to share a bed in tv history because before this show couples slept in separate beds and in some shows separate rooms. They are classed by therapist as couple goals as they love and accept everything about their partners including ALL their flaws and still love each other working through their problems together.
The creator of the Addams Family meant them to be a satire, a mirror opposite and critique of the suburban American family.
The funny thing about that is that means, even while the Addams had grotesque tastes and habits, you didn't have the dynamic that you would usually see on tv or even in real life... husbands complaining about and cheating on their wives, calling their wives "the old ball and chain"; or wives having to drink themselves to death in order to withstand being in an uncaring marriage. That warmth, support, and connection to each other in the Addams Family is what I feel was completely missing from the Wednesday series...in that show, Gomez and Morticia's passion for each other is chastised, Mother and Daughter aren't close, and Wednesday more or less seems to want to be "normal".
It's a shame that a franchise that is supposed to be about authenticity and love was transformed into a yearning for conformity; and that's why the 90s movies will always be the *true* rendition of the Addams Family for me.
I really enjoy watching movies with you two. Thanks for making them and bringing a little joy.
Glad you enjoy it!
Hope you all watch Adam Family 2 as well 🙌
we have too! no choice now
In the 60s, there were 2 comedy TV shows like this. The Adams Family and The Munsters.
The sequel is not bad.
The Addams family a parody of a typical family. Most families put on a nice, socially acceptable facade, but fight with each other, gossip about each other, and even hate each other. The Addams family is outwardly scary and socially unacceptable but are loving and affectionate with each other.
With your chemistry, you two would make an AMAZING Gomez and Morticia for Halloween!
Great reaction as always!
oh... i think Joy will scare the sh*t out of me everytime. but hey, if is gonna work out?
hahahaha
RIP Raul Júlia
Ask Marian what is for the third leg! I think he would know... 😂😂
=))))))))))))))))) no wwwwaaaaay
I suspect that the trick to getting past the pull chains to the vault is different than most people think. Maybe there's no "wrong" chain to pull, but it's all in how you pull it. If you watch Gomez, he quickly yanks the chain and lets go, and the trap door opens under them. Everyone else pulls a chain and holds on, anticipating the trap door, but this gives the countermeasure a chance to grab the intruder and pull them out.
Please react to the sequel
*Addams Family Values (1993)*
even better!
.
I recommend you Underrated Horror Comedys :

Add "Cast A Deadly Spell" in that list
will check this one out!
Morticia and Gomez = couple goals!! I just love how they lit Morticias face throughout. Luv this movie so much. 🖤 The sequel is just as good. Hope to see a reaction to it as well..
quite the love they have there. despite their life style
hilarious the addams family [1991] film - first time watching - movie reaction !!!
gomez and morticia are relationship goals
ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES is the sequel; this needs to be seen.
I sooo love your reactions to all these movies and now you do this movie?!! I'm so happy and thank you for this 😁👍🏽
This movie was an absolute banger! I’m so glad they brought it back right
RIP, Raul Julia, 1940-1994.
He was the best Gomez Addams we ever had.
oh.. so sad to hear that, RIP
Oh man!!!! Game over!!!! Great reaction 💯
You have the second chapter movie "the addams family values"
Saw the original as a kid. Saw this when it first came out and, to my surprise, it surpassed the original. The sequel is even better.
It is a family movie. Well, YES, but not in any traditional way.
Another spooky Halloween recommendation! What We Do In The Shadows! ^w^
Don't deny you loved it 🤪👍🏴
Should watch The Witches 1990 another great performance by anjelica Huston
This movie is decent but the second one is crazy good.
Wednesday, "I'm a homicidal maniac: they look like everybody else."
i cant believe i never got the 11 toes
Definitely check out the next movie also! It's got kind of a Thanksgiving theme so it's appropriate for November! Thanks for the reactions!
I'll check it out!
The sequel is even better IMO. You guys should do that one too.
we gotta!!
Wait, how can the Addams Family have monthly bills if they're royal and rich and live off the grid? Error in the Force, John Luke.
Look up the series from the 60’s 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍🏻👊🏻
I remember watching the old series on TV as a kid. And the Munsters 😂
I much preferred "The Addams Family" to "The Munsters." I also liked "Honey West" on Friday night.
@@jeffthompson9622 Yes, Honey West, with Anne Francis!
miss those old times.. don't know if i watch the rest of them though
This is a remake of the old black n white tv series of the same name. wrong is right up is down. On tv Fester sleeps on a bed of nails.
As odd as the Adam's Family are, you can't deny they are a loving family. Gomez and Morticia are a perfect movie couple. It looks like y'all had a fun time watching this one and I think you would enjoy the second movie just as much.
they are too inlove with eachother! creepy but loving family
The Addams family began as a series of one-panel cartoons in New Yorker magazine, drawn by Charles Addams. In the '60's, it became a sit-com series, which gave the characters their names and introduced the theme song.
Some of the same jokes seen here were introduced in the television show, but due to the available technology at the time, were much more limited. Thing, for example, was a hand that poked up out of a container, etc., so wasn't free-roaming. A favorite recurring joke (many were recurring) which was only seen at the end of the movie was Fester putting a light bulb in his mouth, which would then light up.
UA-cam contains many if not all these episodes, for free, should you want to see them. I would bet the original cartoons are floating around the internet too.
i see.. i think i watched the cartoons as well.. probably the very first time when The Addams Family was introduced on the screen here in Romania. i liked it as a kid.. dunno for some reason.. i used to laugh a lot watching this
@@MJoy4Fun I think there is a bit of confusion here - I forgot about the cartoon ANNIMATED FILMS. which come after the tv series. I'm referring to a single non-animated black-n-white pen-and-ink drawings which was the originating concept. His original artwork would be viewed on a page in a magazine, not on a tv screen. (Both versions are funny, though.)
Also, in research my answer here, I learned something. His original cartoons did not have names for the characters, as I said, but HE was the one who came up with the names used on the tv show.
PS - I love you guys' reactions, including how the two of you interact in making these.
RIP Raul Julia
RIP!
You kind of sound like Gomez
As a fellow Ad(d)ams, I of course know how to dance the Mamushka. ;)
We danced the Mamushka while Nero fiddled, we danced the Mamushka at Waterloo. We danced the Mamushka for Jack the Ripper, and now, friends, this Mamushka is for you.
hahaha!! we call Mamushka to mom here.. like a spoil version of mommy!
I loved the tv show from the 60's and I love these movies.
oh man. there's a 60's show as well???
@@MJoy4Fun yes. It started with the print cartoon strip then the black & white tv show in the 60's, then these movies, then an animated movie that looked more similar to the newspaper cartoon strip and then finally to the Wednesday show. The animated characters had made guest appearances in other regular cartoon shows like Scooby Doo long before the animated movie though.
I grew up watching the original tv show in the 60's along with another "monster" based family called The Munsters.8
The Burbs with Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher is a must its a comedy horror
MJoy4Fun First of it's not a horror comedy, it's a comedic mystery film, and second "The Burbs" (1989) is really good and deserves more attention, so I highly recommend it to you guys for a reaction.
gotta check that one too.
@@MJoy4Fun 👍👍
The Second movie in this series is hilarious too
it's a deal to watch it then!
My soberbia 😅
My most fav Family Addams movie, all the actors / actress in this movie was perfect w
agree 100%
Love love love these two films still so sad after the loss of Raul Julia that we never got that third true film they had talked about . I believe it was going to be called Addams Family Reunion. It was going to have all the family in it from the states and from the old country George Clooney was signed to be fester and gomize’s cousins Hector . From Spain who they grew up with and got into troubles with more like a brother . sounded like it was going to be the best one .
oh i see.. interesting! can't imagine seeing Georgy Clooney as Fester though lol
While I love this movie, it makes a lot more sense if you’re familiar with the 60s television series from the US. It was a contemporary of the Munsters series.
didn't watch that one.. but we have too! i rememer watching only the cartoons!
Have you watched the Wednesday TV series? You should it's really good. ❤
Joy watched some.. i know is related to Wednesday from The Addams Family right?
@@MJoy4FunYes.
I also love how they are actually great parents.
7:11 poor Marian is so tired he’s jealous of Fester’s bed lol hang in there buddy!
i was a bit sleepy there lol!!!
Back in the early '60s when THE ADDAMS FAMILY premiered it was based on a strange cartoon featured in NEW YORKER magazine and it was a clever idea. The family wasn't overtly supernatural, just weird and suggestively otherworldly. And the humor was in the suggestion of something being not quite right. And in this movie adaptation they did a very good job with the casting, including Christopher Lloyd's Fester, although when fans of the original show heard he would be taking on the role made famous by Jackie Coogan there was a lot of scratching of heads. But I thiink he did a good job of it.
The only complaint I have with the movie and all the sequels is what they did with thing! In the original 60s show, all you ever saw of thing was a hand coming out of a box that was in every room in the house to do things like turn on a desk lamp or light Gomes's cigar. And it was a hilarious bit that became iconic because it so sparked the imagination. What exactly was thing? Was it just one person trapped inside the house that did the family's bidding? was it some multitencled creature with 50 different hands? Nobody knew. And it became a novelty item back in the 60s I remember having a penny bank where you put a pennny in a slot on the top, pushed a button and an automated plastic hand came out of a trap door, grabbed the penny and pulled it into the bank.
So the director made I think a very stupid decision in turning Thing into a disembodied hand. It not only took all the mystery out of Thing, it also robbed the family of its borderline mystique. Can't be merely suggestively paranormal with a disembodied hand running around.
oh i see haha. okay, quite interesting
and fascinating, on how old movies and scripts were made. when they had to design some sort of paranormal or SCI FI type of thing
Raul Julia such an underrated actor
This is why i love the Wednesday Sho
He was the real Fester Addams
It was a TV Show very popular in the 1960s.
The sequel is the best ever 😊😊😊
we gotta watchh iiiittt! hahahaha
Just an FYI.. I don't want to spoil why, but Addams Family Values is a VERY appropriate Thanksgiving movie.
Anyone who has seen it can attest to that!
Just saying 😉🤣
❤️🌈🐬
Cara mia!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Oh, Gomez and Morticia are couple goals
Gomez and Morticia relationship goals!
Another Christopher Lloyd movie that you would like:
"The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" (1984)
omg i hope you guys watch the second one, its even better
Wait until you see Wednesday in the sequel. ✌️
❤️ the reaction i hope you react to the sequel.
It's better than the first one.
thank youuuu!! we will do the next one 100%
Please, watch the second (Addams family values). I think It's even better.
Wednesday is superb, and Joan Cusack... Is out of this world.
I prefer the TV series Of the Addams family
the second one is better!!
Phone number right Christina Ricci plays Wednesday, Addams the creepy girl
Cute movie. Perfect cast, with just the right kookiness. 🫰🫰
You guys want to watch a scary movie that isn't on every reactors list? Check out The Sentinel (1977). If you dare.
