Whether you're new to the method or looking to refine your skills, this guide will provide you with valuable insights and tips to help you catch more fish.
Yo-yo fishing, also known as vertical fishing, is a technique where a weighted jig is dropped and repeatedly raised and lowered. It’s popular for targeting fish like Yellow Tail and Bluefin Tuna, especially on the west coast, due to its effectiveness from cliffs and small boats. The fast movement of the jig mimics injured bait, attracting predatory fish. The video highlights a fishing trip on the El Dorado, showcasing the technique and success of yo-yo fishing.

Interesting content and explanation on the OG yo-yo SoCal technique. In some ways, I can see the similarity with Slow-Pitch Jigging, which builds on the yo-yo fishing technique with lighter gear to optimize ergonomics, allowing fisherman to jig longer with less effort.
