Thank you for this short, detailed and helpful video. I bought the usb port from Amazon, and I replaced it myself thank god ! I was surprised that the old usb port adapter connection was completely cut out, although the phone was never opened and I had the phone for 3 years. Maybe that happened because of bad charging positions or the couple of times I dropped the phone.
Great video. The only thing I should point out, my replacement port didn't come with the plastic attachment (at 1:57, the bit with the screw hole) so I had to take it off the old port and reuse that.
My charging port is becoming a bit loose after just four months after accidently getting dirt in there (old Xperia Z was sealed but was a bulletproof phone!!). I'm guessing these ports are not replaceable under manufacturer warranty? Thanks for the video.
1 very interesting question: Is there any way we can mode the USB-C charging port of the other (like X-compact, XZ, or XZ premium) on the Xperia X that would be awesome !! and those OEM ports connectors look very similar !!

My only complaints would be: - The missing suggestion for the hot air temperature. - One step is skipped in the video: remove old sticker thingy from the back, before applying the new one, but that is (or should be) trivial

Thanks, replaced mine. Worked fine. Just the plugin in the connector of the USB jack itself was a PITA
