    I really like these longer slower paced videos. I can really watch your movements as you transition between different techniques. I am working on my open guard technique lately and seeing how you move really helps me think about my practice.

    He's in wise and safe (yet deadly) hands. It's always interesting having a window right back to the start. Sometimes we don't realise how far we've already come until faced with fresh eyes. Looking forward to seeing him bloom over time if he enjoys it / chooses to commit to the process long term.

    Loved this one. As a white belt with about 12months behind me, this was great to show just how far I've come. Thank you for sharing. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

    Sidenote, I like that you're starting to refer to this area of the gym as your office. 👏🏻

    Thanks for posting these types of videos! I’m a 55 and just had my 1st BJJ class, definitely humbling experience but very enjoyable at the same time.

    I for one like the wrist lock, no reason they shouldn't get exposed to it early to know it is yet another joint that can be attacked. I use them, even just a floating wrist lock I know there is no way to finish, just to get a big reaction, then use that reaction to move to a better position.

    • @Jitsover50
      @Jitsover50  16 днів тому

      Yes I find wrist lock attempts are just to get a reaction then switch to something else

    A year in and I’m still terrible, but watching him I see that I at least recognize most of the attacks coming at me. And I have learned to go for those points of contact. 2nd day, you have no shot haha! Good video!

    I'm only a blue belt, but I've had this dilemma of - do I be nice and let the new guy work/play around OR do I whoop their butt for the whole round so they get to see that jiu jitsu is real. I usually stick to the first option but if they're grunting and going 100% trying to hurt me (tends to be the wrestler type background) I will deploy the smesh and just stay on top the whole time😂

    I've seen that double arm lock from back mount, called a surf board. Never seen it from seated back take though.
