I Met Someone Special In The Philippines (

- After spending so much time in the hoods of Manila, it was time to get some fresh air. Just a few hours north of Manila is the former site of the Clark Air base. And just outside of Clark is a village home to the Aeta people, who are Melanesian or "black Filipinos".
I decided to visit with my new half-American acquaintance, Rose. I had no idea what to expect, which was good, because I ended up taking an entire village on a field trip across grasslands to a local theme park. And to think I just wanted to have a lazy Sunday afternoon..

I Like the fact you don’t follow the typical Philippines vlogging destinations. Good to see some different places.
To be honest, I'd watch this guy go exploring anywhere.
this is facts, all the other philippines bloggers are just the " OH LOOK AT THIS NICE BEACH! " " LOOK AT THIS EXPENSIVE RESORT " i rather see the true philippines, i visited manila and cebu city last year.
For those who are "concerned" about me. Lol. I'm an introvert and I get uncooperative sometimes.
I have my own life now and my everyday life doesn't revolve around the fact that "my father abandoned me". I may live in a third world country, but I think I am living a better life than some girls (in the US or not) with married parents/complete family growing up. I'm thankful for the gift of life that I have. 🤍
And my mother was not a hooker 🤭
Nice response Rose! As a black man, who is a dad and lolo, I certainly would have been proud if you were my daughter. Stay proud of who you are and where you come from. I'm an introvert as well, and it's hard for people to sometimes understand folks like us, but that's not our problem.
Understood, because I'm like that too. I genuinely hope your life gets even better than you ever imagined it could be. 💖
Got it.
keep ur head up , you beautiful !
Your comment made me rethink how I perceive people, especially in Tommy's videos, because some of those things crossed my mind when I saw the interview bit with you. Now I feel almost ashamed for that. Why is it that we draw these conclusions so quickly? Heck I would even go as far and say your life is probably more interesting than mine.
It is really nice of you to have provided entrance fee for the children to see the amusement park. They may not have said thank you, they may not even know 'Sabbatical'. But rest assured - their classmates, friends, relatives and neighbors will hear of it today and for the years to come, that one afternoon in early 2023, you brought them there.
Exactly , he made an everlasting impression on these kids and that’s all that matters.
True stuff like this leaves a lasting impact some times kids are just too excited to express their appreciation for things.
I’m pretty sure they said thanks after 😅 wth. Phillipino people are the most polite people on earth.
You are so generous.
That he payed entrances fees in the equivalent value of 100kg of rice.. Yes, that will be a great story to tell
Tommy, you are a decent person not just with the little girl in Africa, but also the little ones in the Philippines, keep up with your genosity and your good will toward others.
Thanks for taking us on your adventures!
What a good guy. Those kids just love the simplest things.
I really enjoy your content it’s not just haircut, market videos, and food reviews.
Don’t get me wrong I know you do it as well, but you have passion and love for all aspects of the cultures your exploring.
Bless you Tommy treating the kids to the theme park..love you ❤
They will remember this nice deed for the rest of their lives.
Rose is extremely chill
I was thinking a bit miserable lol maybe she camera shy
@@ellem2293My guess is camera shy.
Actually very Filipina. No pretense just matter of fact and thoughtful. Don’t be sarcastic it won’t be understood
@@ellem2293 I noticed americans think everyone who is not hyped up and fake positive is somehow depressed LOL
@@goldbluetears well introverts, if filmed a certain way could make them look depressed. and no i'm not american lol. well, hyped up / fake positive / cheerful is just generally a better appearance than down / true negative / not cheerful. Anyways, it's like an interview, do you go to one all sad thinking i'mma be myself lol. No they gotta fake it so they'll be someone that's appealing and interesting. Sure i'd be interested in why a person looks depressed but that's all.
Filipinos are very peaceful and gentle people.
Imagine having a guy that sounds like a Italian construction worker from New York randomly show up on your field trip in the Philippines 🇵🇭 😭
"heeey i'm walkin here"
Noice
He should team up with that Italian guy with the thick Chicago accent on the botanizing channel Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't.
I like that Tommy has kept his Long Island accent despite having once worked for corporate America. It makes him more relatable.
Ok but Italian American is different than Italian.
I know how you feel when helping the native Filipinos to get inside that park . It always reminds me when I visit Iloilo City, Philippines - so many aetas wondering the City especially those kids who does not wear clothes- fully naked. Chasing you for foods. Immediately run to the bake stores and buy those breads and gave to each one of them. I have silently my emotions run high but oh boy- it really feels good to share what you have to somebody needs it…… I commend your intentions. ❤️🇺🇸🇸🇽
I envy him. He travels to all the parts of a country I would usually like to explore myself.
Awesome you recognized the need for an exercise of charity. Well behaved children will always be found outside of the cities. Well done brother. I was born and raised around Cornwall and Newburgh. You are one of the few who represent NY properly.
I recently emigrated to the Philippines,I live in Cebu city with my gf since March 23th. So my journey here just begins actually, but I already feel so at home here already with everyone being so friendly and curious about that white smiley guy 😊
You still there ? You have enjoyed it ?
Tommy and Rose are the couple we didn't realise we needed 😂❤
Why?
Tommy only 'hooks up' - doesn't 'set up' with a local anywhere.
@@JUST-ME2468 I've seen his Hong Kong and Brazil videos, definitely set up on those.
@@JUST-ME2468come on he is a rich american who is getting old of course he takes advantage of the economic situation of the poorer countries he goes to, this is what the west has been doing for a long time.
That's a good shout Tommy paying for the kids to get in the park, peace be with you✌
Nice video Mr. Tommy, greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬.
Great video Tommy....I've been all over the Phillipines and this series is a greeat portrait of the country. Taking those kids to the dinosaur park is walking the walk...cheers! I flew out of Clark air force base when I was sent to Vietnam and spent many R&Rs in Olangapo from 71-72...I like to think I was responsible and respectful during my visits. Wonderful country and people.
You’ve become my favorite UA-cam channel. You always bring out what is beautiful about the moment you’re in, the people you’re with.
Never seen the inside of Clark base . Thanks for showing these places that even some Filipinos like me that never seen them before. Watching from San Francisco CA 🇺🇲. Peace ✌️🇵🇭.
My wife and daughter-in-law are both from that area. My father-in-law was employed at Clark AFB for 35 years. My family and I will be visiting in July and August. Loved the video. There are so many interesting things about the Philippines.
Salamat po, Tommy po, you probably made the kids best adventure they will ever have, your heart is so awesome
Man that was one of the nicest thing you did to get tickets for all those people to go to the park. Blessings !
I’m a relatively new subscriber but I gotta tell you that I’ve been enjoying your videos. I admire how down to earth you are and able to get along with different kinds of people. It’s also fascinating how you learn the different local languages quite well. You’re a real traveler. Stay safe always and God bless you.
Appreciate your unique travel videos. Unconventional tours are the best. Great for those people to have you turn up out of the blue. Great video, thanks. Keep them coming. 👌💯👍✌️
Godbless u Tommy brother. They have it so hard in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Tommy's vloggs are no 1 for sure he deserves the highest subs nd Likes in utube, always interesting with history lessons.
I don't know if they were all unhappy seeing the dinosaurs or just shy but I hope everyone had some fun they seemed really sweet and kind hearted people
Kinda funny, the fake dinosaurs have better place than these kids….just saying.
Sabbatical, Im from The Netherlands and here for more than 3 months now. If you want to meet up I can arrange. There are a lot of places that are worthwhile visiting, thanks to the Filipinos. Let me know, always took an interest in your videos.
I lived in the Philippines in 1907. It has really changed.
1997?
Are you the oldest person on earth?
1907
@@dfui. so what age were you when you lived in the phillipines plz tell
How old are you to be living there in 1907?
As per usual Tommy love the Pilipinas vids. Glad you met the Aetas but maybe you should spend more time with them! It's good to get a glimpse of the native filipinos.
Rose is a vibe and sad she didn't get to know her father. Her father must of been African American decent. I hope your going to the other islands! I'm hoping to do a lot of the archipelago and do vlogs. You need to meet Whang Od and and also see the hanging coffins in Sagada!
It's so nice of you to bring those kiddos to the theme park 😢. Maybe one day you'll bring your own. Get a lady start a family 😉! Peace x ✌️
I visited that park in 2019 with a filipina who I eventually brought to America and married. That park is a great first date
Aetas, the Aborigenes of the Philippines! Subic Bay & Clark AFB was closed down after Mt Pinatubo erupted! Glad I discovered your vlog today!
Hello Tommy, How nice of you to take the kidds to the zoo😊
Our indigenous people.. the Pure Filipino. Thanks for sharing
Learning to say goodbye for the kids while the theme song plays.....
EPIC!
We want to visit Philippines end of this year 🇵🇭❤️ have a nice trip and take care 😊
You are such a good dude, Tommy. I really enjoy traveling the world through your lens. Thanks for being an inspiration.
At last you meet one of the indigenous people of the Philippines 🇵🇭
Great video Tommy! I am your neighbor from NJ. Very nice of you to treat them to the park. Love your videos and would like to see some of where you stay and eating when in different places.
Good Man, Sabbatical. Always do the right thing. 💓
What a beautiful kind thing to do
The originals village is something rarely vlogged about this is a very refreshing video 😊
Thanks for giving us the recent history of the former base and it's affects on the local population.
Great content Tommy! Rose is Beautiful😍
That's awesome brother, we need u to run for president, you're a good ambassador, honest and kind .
Thank u Tommy for your kindness, you made those kids happy, they will never forget what you did... God bless!
It was pretty cool of you to take that family to the park. They live near it and have never been able to go, so I'm sire they will always remember you.

I am binge watching your vlogs. Just discoverec you. Most of my family in different burrows of New York. I enjoy your down to earth demeanor and and your realistic vlogs of how different cultures really live❤
Cool bro was waiting for this. Love the Philippines 🇵🇭
Salamat po Mr. Sabbatical! God bless you!
WOW, Tommy, great video and awesome gesture you've pulled on those kids! It was a day experience for you, but they'll remember you for the rest of their life!
This channel is an Americanised one. Shows the best of allies and the worst of enemies. Definitely an American patroit here.
Such a good adventure and rose was amazing so many facts too , looks so good there at Clark’s
i really thank you for doing that sir.
Very kind heart to treat the kids. Hope you enjoy your stay at the Philippines!
Videos like this are why I follow and why I love your work here. Thanks Tommy!
Thanks for the upload on a sleepless night, hope life is well 🙏
Love your videos man. Seeing those kids getting to enjoy something that they haven't experienced was great. "He's like Venom - He's black" LOL
I see Tommy I click
I used to climb on the trees way back then lol . So nice of you , kids were never forgot their experience.
This was a really good thing to do, Tommy. God bless 🙏❤
“He is Venom , he is black” It digs deep to me😂!!
We waste $90 and Tommy spends $90 to treat kids who have never been to a park that was always close to their homes.❤
Just barfed
IN Sabang there is a little Charity looking after kids born to "bar girls " and the fathers "where customers" . Some of these kids get to see their fathers only a few times in their lives . Most have no idea who their fathers are etc . The guys visiting bring gifts etc etc .Sometimes from "Relatives" who have learned about these kids but are in no position to help of visit themselves . Its a sad life...
Well done Tommy fair play! 👏
Thank you for sharing your videos my brother. Your videos are always informative and awesome
9:30 White dude: "Can I help you?"
Filipino: "Sure."
White dude: "Where's the mango?"
Filipino: "In the tree."

Negritos and Australian Aborigines have settled in Southeast Asia and Australia for the last 50,000 years
thank you sir for inviting those people/ inside these park
Easily the best travel channel and easily the most underrated UA-camr of all time.
Edit. The mixed Black Filipina girl. Beautiful.
that same airbase is still being used by the US Armed Forces as part of EDCA and periodic military exercises with the Ph Armed Forces
Awesome! I just liked & subscribed your channel! God Bless you & your family!👍🇵🇭❤️🙏
This time of year, Holy Week, is a very interesting time to be in the Philippines, Tommy. They carry on many Spanish traditions during the week: Religious parades some featuring the penitents, usually men who atone for their sins by publicly flagellating themselves. Some even go so far as to tie themselves to a cross for 3 hours on Good Friday. It’s not for the faint of heart, but interesting for sure. I saw some of the same type of activities while stationed in Rota, Spain in the early 70’s.
I hope Tommy is still in town to catch the re-enacted crucifixions that occur during Good Friday in the Philippines, particularly in that province Pampanga!
Amazing video man! ❤🎉 I’ve been to the Philippines and I must say these people are the most kind people I’ve met :)
SWEET BABY HESUS. GOD BLESS THEM ALL
Acacia trees were brought by American to the Philippines during the colonial period. Clark Air base has a lot of Acacia trees.
What a absolute legend you are! Very heart warming content.
I’m in the Philippines and so many people are surprised when I speak with a American accent because they truly thought I was a Aeta . 😂😂 now I understand why. They look like my cousins
What a wonderful day for everybody..............They'll never forget the experience. You deserved a discount for spending so much.......
Tack!
Hi, your video's are so informative and enjoyable. Your always smiling, thanks. Watching from Southern California, beach area. 🤗
Aetas are just one tribe. There are 30 Negrito tribes scattered throughout the Philippines with different names
I knew it your going to visit zambales,..enjoy your stay in the Philippines watching your vlog always, dee wango also there tommy
there's no necessarily a goodbye in kapampanga I can think of; how we(kapampangan) say it is just "mako naku"( I'm leaving), "muna naku" literal translation is First Me but in a sense it's "I'm going first" or just "I'm going". In your case "mako nakami" means we're leaving..
idk, I'm just glad I saw someone speak our Kapampangan language...
also yoo.. I go jogging in that park from time to time
14:48 had me dying 🤣🤣💀 "He's 150... YOU'RE 14?! Really? Well he's 150 million years old."
Rose is the epitome of a beautiful woman... I'm sure she had led a difficult life but she accepts her fate and doesn't complain ... I don't know her current status but if she was single I'm a little disappointed that you didn't snatch her up !!! ... love your videos and well done for giving these kids a day to remember 🙏🏼
Great Tommy, keep up the good work mate
Nice thing you did there! Love your videos!
Always handsome Tommy!! Great adventure and insight man!! 🤩
Your very nice guy Bro, ❤ You made this kids happy Super thumbs Up ! I was born on that country, but we left 45 yrs ago
