Hello Aine, Thank you very much for watching my Mokulito video and your comment. Yes I do. I wanted to create and express different shades and tones of the gesso. However , It might be a bit hard to recognize it in the video. In my case, after several printed I could see the effect of using the gesso.
Hello Chiyki, I love your work and your technique only problem for me is the use of animal products, is there vegetable substitute, please. ? Best wishws Richard.
Hello Richard , Thank you very much for watching my video. There are two ways for sealing. One is the dosa liquid and the other one is the casein solution. But both of them are animal products. Do you know Waterless- Lithography which is based on Mokulito technique? That technique are using the silicone and the water-based urethane vanirnish.
Hello ! Thank you very much for seeing MOKURITO: Lithograph on Wood . The dosa liquid is the paint made from glue and alum used as a base for Japanese painting.(Nihonga) I apply it for sealing.
@@Sosopho Hello, Thank you for your question. It is depends on the person but, I used the powder animal glue this time. I made the dosa liquid of a teaspoon of the powdwr animal glue, 50cc hot water and 7.5cc the chrome alum(saturated liquid). If you would like to get more information about that , I will recommend to see UA-cam : Mokurito (Mokulito) Live 36 and 50.( by Motomi Tsunoda)
Hello Chiyuki, thank you for generosity in sharing your R&D (Research and Development).... It has been delightful to watch you take the steps towards printing this Mokulito - What I am curious about is this - Do you think that the gesso was effective for achieving tones, in the way you hoped ?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have worked with a dosa on the base of caseine, ammonia and water, which by and large would work to the same effect I suppose. I take it the glue in your answer would be gum arabic? So a gum arabic alum solution? What quantities please?
The glue is not the gum arabic. The animal glue called Nikawa is made by boiling down animal bones , skins horns, etc. I hope that you have been still interested in Mokulito prints.
Yes, what's that Dosa liquid? Something like citric acid or vinegar? It isn't introduced in the ingredients used for this technique. I'd love to know. This is great! Litho's from wood!
