As a Discovery 5 owner, all I can say is that it would be far better off with smaller rims and thicker tyres. The benefits of air suspension for on-road driving are totally wasted with the daft 20" wheels. If you are old-school like I and actually look out of the rear window to reverse, then the back window would have been better to be at least 5cm deeper. Fortunately for me, my Discovery has the rotary gear selector knob and proper buttons for many functions and not the STUPID touch screen crap they have replaced them with. When will these manufacturers get it through their thick skulls that knobs and buttons essential to the driver whilst driving (climate control, radio and the like) are far superior to burying things deep in software menus. I love my Discovery and it is a fantastic car and far superior to my former Pajero 3.0 litre petrol 5MT car. Yet, I enjoyed driving my Pajero far more overall despite its very basic interior spec. ...and yes, my Discovery has been off-road on countless occasions and that was a necessity in every instance. That is why I buy these types of vehicles. It is also a brilliant tow car.
As hideous I find the Defender inside and out, I feel like it might age better just a bit. The Disco isn't a very timeless design even though it looks so much nicer currently imo.
The Discovery 4 looked better in my opinion and I hope they go back to a more rugged/chunky design with the Discovery 6. The Disco 5 is nice too. I own one.
I have owned a Disco 3, 4 and decided to buy a 5 rather than a Defender. The 5 is fantastic to drive but why the electric back seats. I can put down the seats in my 4 (which I have kept as it is so practical as a beat up run around) much faster by hand and means that there is actually more space in the back than in the 5.
The Discovery is a good balance between the luxury of a Range Rover and the “off-roadiness” of the defender.

We prefer both in garage :-) Discovery on highway and Defender to forest :-)

Discovery is mix of luxury and off road really good suv and defender is 1st for off road 2nd urban luxury

I had a new 2020 110 loved it but it couldn’t even haul my dogs. The cargo. Space was terrible. Now I have a td6 disco and love it
whats the difference between the D250 and D300? both are 3.0l 🤷🏻♂
