EDIT: This car did not come with a factory limited slip diff- got this confused with the Civic Si of the same era, same with the Integra Type R version in Japan. My K20A in my Integra does which made me slip this up. Oops. Thank you all for your understanding.

Honda has the ctr and the new NSX left in there line up, but the NSX is too expensive, and not everyone likes the new ctr, so there needs to be a middle ground like there use to be. The integra type r and the S2000 use to be that middle ground

My first Integra was an '87 LS purchased new and then replaced with a '98 GS-R, also purchased new. Then I bought a new 2002 RSX Type S, my favorite of the three. A cold air intake and Hondata reflash gave the car a much better torque curve. At 10 years old, there was no new car that I preferred over my RSX so I gave it a new paint job and kept it. At 15 years old it was stolen out of my driveway to be recovered stripped of drive train, wheels and seats. I bought it back from the insurance company and intend to restore it. Meanwhile, I picked up a used bone stock 2002 RSX Type S with 236K miles and it is my daily driver. It has peeling clear coat but runs great and is a joy to drive every day. I will probably buy a new 2020 CTR later this year, but my original RSX will live again.

Zachery Mitchell Yeah none of the USDM RSX’s had them, which is weird because the Civic Si’s of the era did. Definitely an upgrade that every DC5 owner should do. It’s a common mistake just cause you’d assume the Type S model being the higher performance model would have one.

    •  4 роки тому

Why the heck do you have a Stage 2 clutch on a Factory setting RSX? And you have Kpro? You sure you didnt just remove your Turbo kit after you beat on the car and now you wanna sell it? lol... And why would you want to sell the Type S now when they are starting to rise in price and will only continue to rise in price? The demand for these is increasing as they get more and more rare. If your car is as clean as you say, I'd swap in a K24a2 and sit on it for a bit and just keep the body and interior mint. Guarantee youll be able to get $10K for it in the next few years even with that mileage on the body. My boy just sold his boosted 06 Type S for $13K. Had 120K on the body as well... Had built trans and built motor with turbo kit.. Was clean AF! There's another SUPER clean Type S selling on the RSX owners forum on FB for $12K now.. One of the cleanest builds Ive ever seen. Shaved and tucked engine bay, Greddy kit, built trans... Got the works.

They are made for Type S's making 250-350whp and like up to 275wt. The lower Vtec engagement especially helps you not fall out of Vtec from 1st to 2nd without having to go past redline.

2-step? Why the F would you have 2-step on a bolt-on RSX? That has to be on eof the dumbest things I ever heard... First off, "2-step" is not something you want on your car. It is harmful to the motor and the Manifold.. 2-step setups should be reserved for track cars. If you have 2-step on a street car, you are likely just using it to showoff. I can understand some boosted examples making alot of power using it when they are street racing, but a bolt on NA RSX does not need 2-step LMAO.. If you cant launch a car that slow without the aid of 2-step you shouldnt be driving a manual.

Built and ported the head with the Intake and 74mm TB, built the trans with LSD, forged helical gears 1-4 and carbon sleeves and syncros, upgraded the shifter and the suspension. Car made 260whp/205tq and the thing is an absolute BEAST. It is also probably one of the cleaner Type S's in existence with lower miles. Nothing on the car was overlooked, and every part is top of the line. I bought a type S last year and let me tell you that is one of the best vehicles I ever own... the only downside of the type s is the gas, it only takes premium and this car is good to drive that you will be kicking that vtec almost every single time you drive it lol

I bought my 2006 RSX type S and I’ll keep it forever. Kept it in my parents garage it’s entire life, it looks brand new. Has over 100k on it and still feels brand new.

Almost bought one of these as my first car, ended up with an awesome NB Miata, but the more I "build" it the more I want a fun practical *comfortable* daily, and I keep thinking about a Type-S

I bought an nb Miata instead of an rsx and I'm much happier with the Miata. It may be a bit slower than an RSX, but it handles way better and is much more fun. If you're worried about comfort and practicality, it's tough to daily a miata

Do it. Will get reasonably good mpg as long as you’re not hitting vtec every time your on it and the utility of the hatch is unbeatable.

The RSX is better in almost every way. The Miata is a kids niche car. The RSX has a bigger aftermarket, a better motor, is more reliable, can make way more power, and is FAR more comfortable. Its night and day... And this is coming from someone who has owned both.. The Miata is a fucking go-kart in comparison.

Ive only driven a base model k20a3, and thats still hella fun. The Chassis alone with the little touches like the dash/steering wheel, seats and shape just make this feel enjoyable to drive because of the environment it puts you in. Would love to drive a k20a2 sometime.

I own one of these and due to how the suspension is setup if you lower it without the heavily recommended support mods it really screws up the suspension geometry and makes it handle worse. Unless you only care about aesthetics I would avoid it or get something like A spec suspension from Honda

Bought my 04 type S RSX new 16 years ago and still loving it. Got some bolt-ons, tune, aftermarket LSD (good edit David 😉) and K20/K24 Frank swap. Been to lots of track days and autocross too. When dropped and a good set of wheels, I don't know of a hot hatch that looks better IMO, especially given the fast-back hatch design. I got a Porsche Cayman S 2 years ago and still love driving the RSX a little more (until I drop a few mods in that one 😳).
