    Hurray! a 2020 episode :) Allen, I live in Wales, UK and just want to say thank you for being so inspiring and pleasant. I have since got qualified and gardened for the National Trust, bought heirloom poultry (Welsummers, Buff Orpingtons and Black Copper Marans) and started landscaping my property. When COVID is over i'll be sure to visit and pick your brains about it all. :) and just to let you know, I plant a soup garden for this time of year and its great! I hope you're keeping safe and well. All the best. Kevin

    I’ve been watching your show since I was a kid. The decorative table you made with Rebecca Robeson (my interior design idol) was beautiful and so were the other creative decorations. Glad you didn’t get lost in the corn maze. Thank you for enhancing our lives with your creativity! 😆

    How do you know when a pumpkin is as big as it is going to get ? I liked your visit to the pumpkin patch and I seen when you were showing what to look for and when they said when they pick the pumpkin but nothing about when the pumpkin stops growing. I enjoyed your visit to the patch.

    Absolutely adore the pumpkin house, in every iteration that I've seen! You make every holiday episode exciting, colorful, and enjoyable, especially for those of us who don't even have a postage stamp sized lot to plant anything, besides the fact that I have a black thumb! LOL And I will never forget one year when you describe the pumpkin as promiscuous... I have never looked at a pumpkin the same way since! 💜🍊

    Next year I'm going to have to try the ghost maidens.
    I'm imagining them arranged in a loose circle in different poses. With programed lights inside to light them up in an alternating rhythm, so they look like they are dancing. 🎃

    Hi Allen, a quick question. What is the best way to layer annual flowers on top of perenial bulbs? I am thinking about having some daffodils or tulips in the bed in fall and will plant some annual on top of them after they have bloomed in spring.

    • @ramibu239
      @ramibu239 4 роки тому +3

      Most Daffodils & Tullips need to be planted 6 inches deep & a majority of annuals come in 4 inch pots so it usually isn't an issue. The only bulbs that you might accidentally dig up when planting your annuals (or even perennials) is when you have a 6 inch pot or bigger or you have planted bulbs like crocus that only need to be planted 4 inches deep ( as they are a smaller bulb). With that being said, I accidentally dig bulbs up all of the time & it is ok to immediately replant that bulb as soon as it happens (as long as the bulb was not injured it will still do ok & come up again next year).
      Also, for the health of your bulbs you need to let the leaves of your bulbs die back naturally (& not cut them off). So once your Daffs or Tulips are done blooming would be a good time to go ahead & plant those annuals so you could also see right where they are & not take the risk of accidentally digging one up or damaging it w/ a trowel/shovel.
      Still, I think that would be a great segment for him to do in teaching new gardeners!!!
