2:55 i promise that if you take breaks you will improve. today, I was trying to beat ToDC and I was getting really frustrated because I was struggling on the difficult and challenging and remorseless floors, even though I usually aim for way higher. I was telling myself to keep playing because I was just "warming up". I wasn't having any fun at all. I decided to leave the game and watch youtube instead. I took around a 30 minute break then came back because I really wanted to try again. I got a new PB and was really happy with my progress. if you aren't having any fun playing the tower, please take a break and it will benefit you heavily later on. they dont even have to be long. maybe you just need to do something for 15 minutes to refresh your mind and get ready for another attempt
A personal tip for me: My personality is determination and it's one of my strengths. So when I start a new tower, I'm set to beating it and also like Zievex said: Take fails as good accomplishments! I got to floor 9 twice in ToN and failed both of the runs and then I eventually got f10 but failed. I was annoyed but I was happy when I made that amount of progress to get to floor 10. Then, I had the motivation to complete the tower in its entirety.
i was just playing ToPs as my new hardest i failed so much yet i beat it today in under 100min and now i got to f7 on ToHS the completion in itself gave me enough motivation to do that
after watching this, i decided i wanted to try to beat a citadel, so i started grinding cou(ring 4) and set a realistic expectation of floor 3. I fluked to 12! 12! on a 15 floor citadel, in 15 minutes! now i feel so much better about myself because before this video i probs would've set a goal of like 8 or something and failed it
#5: In Geometry Dash (completely unrelated I know), every time I fail at a new percent, I say: "(pb%), that's progress." I may just have to do the same with JToH, even though there are bigger gaps between distinct milestones.
This works personally for me when I fail or with hard sections, I try to make jokes and make light out the dark. It personally makes me happy. Overall, you can bring back any lost joy.
Same, sometimes I would reset after a fall exclusively because of my time despite nets I had available or sections I already did. I was worried about how other people would judge my time on any tower.
I know Im late, but if you fall like 4 floors and you keep going, don't fall to the urge to go faster! This can lead to making mistakes or falling all the way to the first floor. If you need, disable the timer because completing a tower in 40 minutes within a week of grinding is better than 10 minutes and a month of grinding.
Thank you, i have fell from ToTS floor 9 to floor 1 ( becuase of the 10 stud wrap at the end of floor 9 ) and i got really demotivated and raged, but because of this video i am now motivated
Here’s something that helped me through my first intense I would practice ToCR and whenever I got one more jump in that my previous attempt it made me have a giant ego when I went back to go and practice the intense again. Making a cycle of: Practice intense, Rage quit go to tocr for redemption, Get a new pb, Go back to intense with a giant ego.
When i grinded TT i went like this (it worked rather well) 1. Start TT 2. Try to get as far as i can 3. If i fall a little i keep going 4. If i fell alot i take a break then a gap that part with an hour of random stuff then repeat
on the take breaks, most people are impatient so they don't want to take breaks, even though they know it helps a ton. It happens with me, especially when they don't have the time.
I’ve met some people like this: In ring 1, someone failed floor 9 ToR and started screaming and crying, he actually told us and he was spamming “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” Also another guy in ring 1 told for beginners to do Tower of True Skill And another person (also in ring 1) blamed the game for lag spikes and kept saying “stop lag spiking me game!”
Well about the first point, it kinda depends on the type of guy you are, for example for me comparing to others is good cuz i think "i am gonna reach them and become better than them" and it motivates me, the competition

"learn to blame fails on yourself" My fails: game lagging on 9 of tots computer freezing on 24 of cown getting luck clipped on 9 of ton climbing then tripping off a wedge that's part of the wall on 9 of toqt ALL HAPPENED
Tip number 2: So umm uhhh ToS and ToKY I was so mad at lol and I legit grinned to for 5 hours doing each tower no breaks XD cause I died on the last jumps on ToKY and ToS was annoying lol
How I stay motivated is by joining a server and immediately spectating people, if I see someone playing something in my skill level, it motivates me to beat it. Simple.
Ever since I started grinding ToTS, my goal was to make it to floor 9. I haven’t quite reached this goal yet, mostly because of the floor 4 shadow section. My pb is floor 6 x2. One day, I’ll make it to floor 9. Based on my skill level, this is reasonable, since I beat ToIE and CoLS. However, since I beat CoLS, I haven’t been able to beat a single tower, not even ToLL, which I should’ve easily beaten since it’s 2 difficulties below ToIE and CoLS.
i had the same trouble grinding ToES i beat ot now and im using this time to beat all the intense and below towers so i dont have to worry about beating them but CoWN sucks
I actually push my self a bit when I fall in a new Pb, I don’t consider this pushing myself bc sometimes I actually get more motivated bc I made progress, but on the most of times I keep falling at first floors and I take breaks
You see Zievex, that WAS going to be a winning run if I was a normal person and didn’t fail the final truss climb, it’s literally Climb a Truss difficulty, I beat it 40 mins later anyway but that was going to be a winning run
im weird. so my hardest is ToTS, and i had skipped a lot of intense towers so when i went to do ToHF for monthly challenges and a tower completion i had 1 fail on the thin studs for rushing it, 3 fails on 3-5 and 10 on 1-2. of course it was pretty easy since ToTS had immensly helped my purist gameplay but still its just weird that i never fall too much ever on 4-10.
Idk but the thing that forced me is my determination, like hecc, I was like woah I got to F14, then I surpassed by PB then beaten the citadel.. idk man if you have determination AND YOU BELIEVE ON YOURSELF thats basically a good sign... My experience (not game lol) for me xd.
If you truly feel you are ready for scs, do togah or todt as ur first sc but i recommend todt more, as 6a onwards is when the tower gets a lot easier. Togah could be rng and annoying as you can get ragdolled a lot if you are unlucky. do not do totl as your first sc its really hard. If you dont feel you are ready for scs just yet, go and beat some intense or remorseless towers.
