    I cannot wait to try this, your grandmother made this cake about once a month when your mon and me were kids. She made it in a bread pan with none of the fancy layers or ribbons - a nice touch!! I recall it tasted best when it was warm and fresh from the oven. I haven't had it in, probably 50 years, so it's going to be a real treat. Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspirational idea's with the world.

      It was delicious warm out of the oven. I've been slowly eating it for weeks, so being kept in the fridge, I take a slice out and warm it in the microwave for a few seconds. Sometimes topped with some keto ice cream, delish!! Thank you for giving me a delicious and fun recipe to create for my channel!! Can't wait for you to try it!!

    Hi Alicia! We absolutely love you & appreciate all your hard work to keep us enjoy going the Keto Desert life! We really enjoyed this recipe!
    You did specify the importance of the same amount of batter in the pans for a level cake! I always use cake bands that you wet & wrap around the pan while baking & always get completely flat level cakes! Thought you could put this suggestion in your Amazon shop & I’m sure people would love the results!
    Stay happy sweetie! And keep those awesome recipes comin👏❤️😋😋

    I used to decorate cakes a hundred years ago. I could have been a professional and I loved doing it! But, even though I had the entire Wilton collection, I chose to do just for my family...
    Thanks for the memories! I will have to bake this one now!! Love ya! ❤💙💜

    If you listed the pan size, the oven temperature and time in the show notes, with the recipe., it would be helpful. Oven temp is most important.

    I would like to see a good white frosting I cannot find a good frosting for the life of me can you try to make one I would really appreciate it:)))

    • @KetoUpgrade
      @KetoUpgrade  2 роки тому

      I made a white lemon buttercream in my wedding cake part 2 video. The problem with white frosting is you have to use a lot of powdered sweetener, which if you use powdered monkfruit/erythritol it has an obvious cooling effect.

    I have an old frosting recipe cook flour & milk until like paste, cool, powdered sugar, vanilla or flavoring & crisco. Is there any substitutions for the flour & milk. I can use butter or maybe lard for the crisco

    • @KetoUpgrade
      @KetoUpgrade  Рік тому

      Not sure I've never used any of my "flours" to cook into a paste. Most have a grittiness to them if they aren't baked. You could try it with a protein powder, that's the least gritty "flour" I use. Maybe add a little xanthan gum to get the gluten replacement the flour would have.

    I am going to make this into cupcakes. That said, do you think I should cut the frosting amounts in half or ????? I think I will have waaaaaay too much frosting otherwise. Unless it can be successively frozen for another time? Any counsel would be appreciated.

    • @KetoUpgrade
      @KetoUpgrade  2 роки тому

      I have a vanilla cupcake recipe that would be easier, this cake batter is really thick. www.ketoupgrade.info/post/keto-vanilla-cupcakes
      The recipe above will make 24 cupcakes so you may need all the frosting. The frosting will stay in the fridge in an air tight container for a month. You can also freeze it.

    I love the cake. Your cake is gorgeous. Tried to copy my grandmothers boiled caramel frosting and couldn’t get the frosting to whip up with allulose, stayed icing consistency. Would you guess my caramel was too warm? I also found that the allulose got too dark in 2 minutes of boiling and then cooling down in my pan so it changed flavor a little.

    • @KetoUpgrade
      @KetoUpgrade  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure how you make that frosting but that could be the case. Caramel can be tricky especially with a different sugar. Glad you like the cake!

    Hi Alycia...I hope you can help with a troubleshooting question on the chocolate frosting. I made it, but no matter how long I whipped it in my stand mixer, it did not get real light, fluffy, or creamy. Is whipping butter before adding the sweetener a real critical step? I cannot recall now if I did that or not. I used a monkfruit/erythritol blend and it never seemed to fully dissolve and lose its grittiness. I did have the butter at room temp. I added water and a little cream to thin it out, but it never got that nice creaminess you normally have from a buttercream frosting.

    • @KetoUpgrade
      @KetoUpgrade  Рік тому

      I would beat the butter until it's nice and smooth first. As for the graininess of the sweetener I'm not sure, if you have powdered it shouldn't be grainy. Wish I could help more.
