    Hi Jack, just stumbled across your videos today. I think it's excellent that you've opened up about your experiences on UA-cam and I think you could really help people who encounter similar problems. I'm struggling with debt and depression myself and I can really understand how much it can affect you. Thankfully I've been introduced to a very friendly and helpful adviser from the Citizen's Advice Bureau who has been helping me to deal with my situation. Good luck to you and thank you for your honesty and humor about life in difficult circumstances!

    Did you get to spend the Tax rebate? or did the Gov use it to contribute towards your food & board when in Prison?

    Just wondered what life has been like since release from prison? for example settling back in to life? keep on the straight and narrow finding a job etc?

    • @JackHill1
      @JackHill1  10 років тому +4

      Hey Edward Roots :) All been amazing since I left, there was a very short adaptation period. I was worried about getting a job but managed to work freelance for a while and then land an office job ok. got a girlfriend. My own house to live in (rented). Keeping on the straight and narrow is easy for me as I wasn't a career criminal, just some dabblings and one major mistake. Thanks for the comment :)

      Jack Hill Thanks for the reply Jack , glad to see you have been doing well since your release. It just goes to show that not everyone is in prison is a lowlife and people shouldn't be judged on their mistakes.

      Edward Roots Thanks Edward! Yes of course that is true. Stereotypes exist, but this doesn't mean they aren't human and require help or at least consideration with our approach to rehabilitation / fixing the problem. Great comment.

      Hey Becca Painter - Well, you will know what your risks are, drinking? some of your friends being a bad influence maybe? Different areas or pubs? My suggestion is that if your really in a bad place in your life, sit down on a completely sober night have a nice long bath and write down everything that is bothering you. Try and break it appart in different ways and come up with some solutions. If they are things that you can't figure out, maybe talk to a close loved one, like parents, family or old reliable friends. Maybe consider moving to a different area and getting a job elsewhere, or moving back with your parents briefly to collect yourself. Its hard to make decisions when your really stressed about a lot of things and unsettled, so you need to get simple things first, good sleep, food, shower etc talk with a close one, a careful sober think to yourself and then a decision about what you are doing with your life at the minute...... and What you want to do with your life and what would make you happy? Just you, not thinking of relationships so much. Once you've done all of that, you should have an idea of what your problems may be, and knowing what they are is half of the battle Becca. Then you can try and avoid them to start with and a plan to get away from them completely. Plan your life as to where your going a bit and it will benefit you massively. I am a firm believer in self improvement. Its more than likely people, dont get in with a croud that you can feel is wrong. Your internal instinct is good at detecting this kind of thing ;) Don't be afraid, be proud of yourself and make changes for the good of yourself and potentially your future children and gran children. (that always helps me to act responsibly and face my fears, the idea of becoming a father one day). Take care of yourself, come and ask me a question on here or on twitter (@avpstudios) if you have any more thoughts or need some one to talk to. Good day to you Becca Painter :)

    you should probably explain some about sentencing,what part of that you serve in custody,what time you may spend on a tag and how long you are on license and what that means.Also some more oftenly used conditions of probation and how easily many people just came straight back before they have even reassigned your cell.That revolving door is something I do not wanna jump back on.It usually takes about 4-6 weeks to sort out any benefits claims-in the meantime,if you have nobody to help,you can be kinda f%^&ed.I had to be oficially homeless for 4 months before I was offered a place to live.
    Jack,I am happy to share my experiences from a female prison and then you can choose what you do and what you don't want use.If it helps one single person,it's a great thing,cos it is VERY scary when you don't know what to expect.For me,I knew for at least a year before this all happened,that the only thing that would save my life was to spend a good amount of time in prison!

    • @JackHill1
      @JackHill1  10 років тому

      Hey Kat Lowe - Oh god, there are a million different videos I could make, thanks for the suggestion though. I have a massive list of vlog suggestions that I have to work through, so I will get to things like this in time! I have explained the sentencing on comments and a few other videos somewhere. Take care, thanks for the comment

      Jack Hill apologies...I am having a lot of short term memory problems(due to a serious head injury some years back).Often,as in this case,when I read a post I made,it is as though someone else wrote it.I did see your vid about sentencing and no idea why i wrote this

    can you get your own cell or do you have to share with somebody

    • @JackHill1
      @JackHill1  10 років тому

      Hey burcoboy1 :) Depends on the prison, most of the time you have to share with someone, but if you are in one place long enough, you will likely get your own cell. Besides the induction wing, all the cells at Kirkham were singles. But most of them at Forrest Bank where doubles. You rarely get a choice in the matter as well :P Thanks for the comment dude :)

    • @wagooairlines
      @wagooairlines 10 років тому

      Jack Hill what if your really skinny or something and cant defend yourself? dont they make any allowances for that type thing??

    • @JackHill1
      @JackHill1  10 років тому +2

      wagooairlines they do make allowances for the "vulnerable", if your really not cut out for prison or if your getting bullied or if your crime deems you at risk, they will put you on a different wing. But you may still have to share. It will likely just be a slightly safer wing. They only did this in one of the prisons I went to though. There isn't much consideration for the comfort of the prisoners going on really. You are treated like an animal.

    • @JackHill1
      @JackHill1  10 років тому

      Well, that kind of works. Not always and specially not if you do it all the time or if you don't have a very serious offence or at least a violent offence. Also, this is a very stupid move if your wanting to progress to better wings or a better IEP status or better prisons. Thanks for the comments :)

      Hey salvadormarley ! Thanks for the suggestion, but I have taught guitar before and don't really want to do it in an online capacity. I am planning on doing some more music related content, so you will see me play more guitar, but no lessons I'm afraid....unless your paying some good money, hehee ;) Thanks for the comments.

    THREE YEARS FOR ARMED ROBBERY!!?..this country, that's no deterrent....I mean i'm glad for you personally as you seem perfectly nice and remorseful. But what you did was very naughty sir! 5-7 years bare minimum even with good behavior. And you were only in there for just over a year! That's outrageous.

    How can one forgive and forget horrid torture as our brains are computers that cannot delete mental and physical torture.
    I cannot see or feel any logic,
    As many song writers use the verse, OH I CAN FORGIVE YOU BUT I CANNOT FORGET. (RUBBISH HORRID UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCES ARE SUPER GLUED IN OUR BRAINS STUCK WITH US UNTIL THE DAY WE DIE.

    Deranged wicked horrid people should experience what they inflict on the innocent unsuspecting victims. I myself would reccomend mental torture in the way of SLEEP DREPRIVATION :IE NON STOP WATER DRIPPING INTO A LARGE HOLLOW METAL CONTAINER DAY AND NIGHT 24/7 OR FOR THE SAME DURATION NON STOP RECORDING OF HEAVY LOUD SNORING. WHAT A EPIC PUNISHMENT WITH NO HANDS ON.
