Please do more tutorials since you really are a pro par excellence! I learned so much just in this one especially for the eyes!!! Thank you!
Absolutely! I love teaching tips and techniques!
@@MarlenaStell can you make a tutorial on how to do colourful eyeshadow. How to place the brush. Because when an amateur does it, blue and yellow side by side end up being green, when we want them to be blue and yellow.
@@razamughal9095try using cream eyeshadows
Omg, this is science lab/painting studio….
I want to be a makeup artist can you do a video on how to recognise which foundation to use for your client.
Did anybody else literally sit down with a notebook? Thank you Marlena! Loving the information in these videos.
I also like to save the video in YT, so I can refer back later.
This is why I freaking love you Marlena! You have always stayed true to who you are!!
So true!
And Humble 😊
Thanks for not doing a 12 minute intro - you are fantastic in every way.
It’s my pet peeve- long intros! I’m like “get to the video!!” 😂😂😂
Girl, I so appreciated this. Its really nice to feel like this was made for us ladies that aren’t in our 20’s anymore, but are still fabulous.💜
Agree!
AMEN! I'm 57 and that eyeshadow tutorial helped me so much! I know I shouldn't but I love me some shimmer so I do plan on practicing that look!!! Thank you all of your video's are so incredibly helpful! ❤
I am so glad you made this video. You’ve helped me so much ❤
Yes girl!! 44 yrs old here so I’m apart of the mature skin club! Lol
Please keep these coming! It’s so nice to have someone not 20 and teaching us we can look fabulous too! 💕
Marlena: Could you do a video series on olive undertone makeup? I'm cool olive medium and all olives are under-represented in this industry. Thanks for all your content!
Light olive here and I second this request.
Also light olive here! I third this!
And a fourth yes from a light warm olive!
Medium cool olive 🫒 yes please!! I would love to have that MG pallet!! 😢
Yes please!!
Gorgeous Marlena! We missed you so much! Please do more tutorials for people over 40. The techniques are so different than in my early 20s when I first stumbled upon your videos.
Please continue to do tutorials with tips n tricks. I miss this so much ❤
Gorgeous. I miss this kind of videos please bring back tutorials like this
I’m so tickled that you used cheetah bear. I LOVE the story behind that shade. You are an Icon, Marlena! Thank you for this awesome, informative video. This is loaded with great information.
I appreciate so much all the techniques you’ve been teaching us! It’s made me better from when I do my make up, thank you ❤️
So happy to hear this!! xoxoxo
Yes,she is “REAL”!
Please keep doing these tutorials- I’m 52 and just getting into makeup. You are so good and give the best advice - I save all your tutorials because I can’t remember all the tips and tricks- but you had better believe I go back and find them! I appreciate the subtlety of the looks you do.
She is the only person in beauty that I subscribe to now. She just is real and an incredible teacher.
I get why females wear make up it does make a big difference, but at the same time it’s Not real …….but it’s amazing the difference it makes, same with me I guess I’m 57 and even I can look good with a tan …..I draw the line at make up though …..lol even though they do have it for men these days.
@@YanksandBritsProductions i don't think you are the audience for this video then 😂
Thank you Marlena for the makeup application tips! It’s definitely going to help me very much. I struggle most times with eyeshadow and which eye brushes to use with hooded eyes. Also, good to know which tools to use for different types of foundation. I learned a lot in this video. Thank you 😊
So glad it helped Darlene! :)
You’re such an amazing teacher !!! I appreciate you sharing your Knowledge with us!!!
XOXOXO
I have viewed 100s of tutorials (not an exaggeration). You are the ONLY artist that demonstrated understandable eye application - using the right brushes and technique.
You are the person who motivated me to follow my dream and be a makeup artist
Thank you 🙏 ❤💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
I love to see you using MUG shadows!!! Most of us have MANY of them & still want to see looks using them.❤
Also other shadows pls
Yes! I’m here for the tutorials. I like that you used MUG shadows because I have a lot of them. I still use my round ones lol
Me too!!! 😊
I love my MUG shadows too!!
I still use mine too! It's still my fave formula :(
Me too! Love mine and they are even more precious now!
@@cavlizzy me too❤
I have been following you from the beginning! We are almost the same age, I learnt how to play with makeup with you. I LOVE your makeup tutorials so PLEASE do more! You haven't changed a bit, you are still the same giggly, happy, positive and MEGA talented make up artist. Is it weird to say I am so proud of you? From London with love :) xxx
Marlena is truly a teacher at heart. This tutorial was filled with instructions and useful information. And the makeup looks flawless.
Great tutorial and tips. I'd love to see how you approach concealer on crepey older under-eyes - perhaps on a real life model.
Thank you kindly for this amazing video! A few so called makeup artists actually teach us,the subscriber nothing other than them wearing expensive cosmetics or what they bought on a trip to Paris!
I am 55 and have been doing my makeup since I was a teenager and I LOVE tutorials!! I always have. I love the tips and tricks without the creator always trying to sell us something...
Thank you so much for this! You are beautiful & your makeup looks flawless ❤❤❤
5:13 The *original* Beauty Blender is made to *not soak in foundation*. If you wet it first as directed, it repels oil-based foundations, therefore not soaking in product. Off brands may soak in foundation.
You are so beautiful and have stunning skin. Im a year away from 40, and don’t have the worst skin. Not the best, because as you said. I was always in the sun as child, teen to my late 20’s. A lot of sun, and very little sunscreen. Oh if i knew what i know now. But my face tends to have a red tone a lot of times, so thank you so much for the tricks & tips!
I love the brown pen trick for inner eye liner. Brilliant!
Honestly, there is no one that can compare to a Marlena makeup tutorial!! So glad that you are back on YT. I am so thankful that you share all of your wonderful talents with all of us! ❤
Thank you for taking us back to class. I’ve missed this so much. I get it tutorials are less flashy and tend to get less traction but this is what UA-cam is for.
I loved this lesson so much. I'm going to be 45 in August and I discovered a couple of months ago that I now have to hold my eye as I've got a little fold appearing on each side!
I love this look and the fact that it’s a universal application! No one talks about application for deep set eyes. Mine are changing as I age! Thus, having to learn how to reapply shadow.
At 55 I’m wondering if I even have eyes left or just skin 😂😂
I used to watch your tutorials every Sunday, I believe. You had cards with different looks and shapes and discussed applications.
💜💞💝
.
So glad you mentioned Dermablend! I've been using it for centuries! Seriously, probably since the early 80s!! I don't know why more content creators don't mention that product!!!
Great tutorial!!! I learned a lot and I've been doing theater and performance makeup for over 50 years! You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
I love Dermablend. The powder that goes with it, would still move my foundation around. My face would look great in pictures.
When I watch Marlena I feel like I actually learn something about makeup application. And, she's stunning so you know she isn't wrong. 👍🥰
My hooded eyes thank you!!! It's so hard to find tips and techniques that complement them. And many makeup artists do them wrong, or just ignore my requests and the result ages me a lot, so it's crucial to know how to do it myself
For hooded eyes, it's SO important to not line the lash line too heavily and keep the lid with a light and shimmer shadow. That will keep the lids bright :)
This video brought me so many good memories! Beginning of UA-cam ! I've always loved your tutorials. I've been following you for years! I loved the video. Please do more.
Finally someone remaking all these basic tutorial videos with new products! And it is of course the OG Marlena. Can't get enough, keep them coming! Xx
Brava! NOBODY does a tutorial like you do Marlena!!♥
Thank you so much Marlena! This is the best makeup tutorial I’ve ever seen, and in my 71yrs, that’s says a lot! You are so beautiful and talented! I own some of your makeup and I can tell that it was created by you with lots of thought and love! Thank you again, Marlena, I hope someday you’ll bring your makeup back! You are a wonderful mentor, artist and role model!🥰
These tips are so useful!! I have been using makeup for most of my life and there are always new things to learn which is great.
I love, love, love these type of tutorials. More, please Marlena! Thank you!
Ive been following your tutorials for over ten years now. Been through the ups and downs with you, watched you overcome it all. I have learned so much from you. Even when the trends change, you keep our age group in mind. I hope you never stop making these types of videos♥️🌷🙏🏼
These kind of videos are why I use to love UA-cam. Thank you for bringing such informative videos back❤
No apologies needed for using the fabulous MUG shadows. Many of us had a bunch before the announcement and then stocked up when things were closing down. Now I have years' worth of MUG shadows and I'm loving every minute of it. Thanks for your tutorial (which is what drew me in way back in the day). ❤
Oh YES! This is what drew me in years ago ….your ability to teach peeps how to make the best of themselves with makeup. Thank you and welcome back to your gift. X
Oh Marlena you are a gem. You truly have a gift for teaching and i have enjoyed watching your videos for years. My daughter is just starting out with some makeup experimentation so this is getting saved for her 💖
Marlena is the GOAT MUA for this!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤ Love her since day one.
You are such a great teacher! Simple and to the point, but so thorough! I love listening to you!
I am 78, trying to get back into makeup after many years (except for blush, mascara, lipstick). I cannot, for the life of me, get foundation and concealer to look like skin. Grrr. So frustrating for me, but I feel like, at my age, I need to do a bit covering up!
Do you have suggestions, or maybe a tutorial?
Thank you so much for your time and expertise!❤
So this foundation i LOVE on mature skin- I’m 43 and my mom is 69 and it looks great on both of us. It’s pricey though BUT a little goes a long way. The new Dior Totale Capsule foundation is incredible. Looks like skin. I got at Macys but see if you can get a sample and try first
Thank you so much! I will certainly do and let you know!
@@dianeparks9475It has been 7 months now. Did you get one and tried? I want to know the results.
I appreciate you so much Marlena for all your amazing work and tips!!!!
Marlena I absolutely loved watching this tutorial. I’m almost 40 myself so it was so nice hearing you give advice for our age group too. Absolutely loved this look. I really hope you continue doing these types of videos. ❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely love love love your channel!!! Makeup for over 55 is always appreciated as well. Such a beautiful lady ❤
This tutorial SO SO SO awesome and INFORMATIVE PLEASE YAS more more! Don't care what products you use but I'll admit I had most of this. I am going to buy that setting spray though! Thank you, thank you! My boyfriend even sat through it ha... so kudos to you!
Ahhhhh I am older than you lol and I learned something new!! Take the mascara to the base first and move it a little side to side and then up!!! Can't wait to try it as I never knew !!!!!
Best cool/ neutral contour? And yes, love this style video too! ❤
You are a person that has the gift of truly making me feel like girlfriends getting ready together. There’s a few people on UA-cam that have that gift Yoga With Adrienne (spelling?) is another. I feel like I am actually in her studio. Two strong women who share their gifts!! Thank you!
This is the best beginner/intermediate makeup tutorial I’ve seen in a long ass time. Well done!!! Great video
Love the powder technique in the t zone before foundation, I'm super oily. How clever. Love love love the look. Thank you mama!
Love your tutorials on the makeup you wear. Please continue to do more using some of your products since I just purchase a bunch of eyeshadows.
Brilliant masterclass I have loads of your eyeshadows
Your blush in spellbound is one of my favorites!!

You were the very first beauty UA-camr that I ever watched waaay back in the day like what 15 years ago?? 🤣. I feel like you single-handedly taught me everything I know about applying makeup so yeah, I definitely want more tutorials 1) because you are so good at doing tutorials and 2) because nostalgia 🤣❤️
I’m beyond happy to see a Tutorial style video on UA-cam again 🥰 I love this so much and I’m so glad you went into undertones and skin types and the importance of that. Keep the Tutorials coming please I’m here for them 👍🏻

Please do more tutorials! They are amazing and you’re the best! I grew up watching and learning from your tutorials. 15 years ago you taught my teenage self how to do killer eyeshadow
Hi Marlena! ♥︎ When are we going to see the makeup tutorial for the video ‘These 5 make up trends are aging you’?
Also, I absolutely love your videos! Have been a subscriber since the beginning of time. Love seeing you so happy and back on UA-cam. Missed you! 💕
Can you do a tutorial on using bright colours for beginners? It’s festival season soon and I’m so nervous about doing my makeup using bright colours and making it last all day and night
Such a treat to watch you do a tutorial Marlena! Takes me back to you in your spare room in front of the black damask curtain. You taught me everything I know about doing my own makeup so it looks amazing. So grateful for you!
Best video on makeup. Ever. I rarely leave comments on UA-cam but you deserve it girl, thank you so much for this comprehensive tutorial! ❤
What’s wrong with using your own makeup? “Makeup geek”
Love this! I'm deep and peach works very well for me I find the tone of the correction has more to do with the coloring of the area corrected .. so many good take aways.
Good to know!
Agreed! I miss your tutorials. You are such a great instructor and blend eyeshadows like no other. Every time you are on IG and you have a makeup look, I just love it! I don’t mind the makeup geek eyeshadows. I tried to get my hands on so many 😅
