Tom thank you for sharing your knowledge but also your passion for fly fishing..it certainly helped get me through covid lockdowns. Also your article in Flylife was excellent and so helpful. Cheers Rob
Been there and had 1 bite fishing for 4 hours. Tom 5 takes in 15 minutes uncut footage. Such a boss. As the other comment said, got me through covid. Keep the videos coming mate
Was up Howqua the other week. Didn’t have much success, was my first time. Not a breath of wind, and super sunny. Only had a few takes on a tiny nymph below dry.
I know this river pretty well, been coming up for a few Years, need to have a crack at fly fishing. I've caught and seen some big rainbows in there on the spinner. Good Brownies can sometimes be elusive.
These videos inspired me to buy a Euro rig. The rod and set-up works like a truffle pig, it just seems to find any trout that happen to be in the water.
Love the content. I’m heading to wonnangatta station next week on a hunting and trout adventure. Have you fished that section on the wonnangatta or know anything about it? All good if you don’t want to share, just thought I’d ask and see what to expect!
Hey Tom I was just wondering I live really close to the Rubicon River and I would love to go for a fish with you to learn the ins and outs of Fly fishing. Please respond. Thanks - Ethan
Thanks Jason. It’s really nice, very very light, slightly faster action compared to nymphing rods I’ve used in the past. The guide placement is so good though so you have awesome control and no slack through the rod. You can see it especially in the stripper guide placement.
@@tomjarmanfishing3208 You keep encroaching on my rivers, Tom and you'll find that I become very 'snakey'. You like the manner in which I laugh at my own jokes? 😃😂 Good work - showcasing our Victorian trout and river scene.
I think it's a gear issue - the biggest thing I found that helped me is new fly line (maybe cleaning properly would help also). I think leader choice can make a difference also (Tom would know more about that). I changed my fly line recently and now my flies are more likely to put off the water than drag under.

Second that Rob. I also bought that Flylife issue primarily for Tom's article

He is a fly god almost 😂
What an amazing day of fishing. Thanks for bringing us along.
Beautiful stream!
Great fishing Tom in a great spot
It never used to be that good in the 80's
Well done
The north east river have been awesome this year.
Always really enjoy watching your videos Tom - have learnt a heap from you and love being able to put it into practice.
Love your work Tom! Howqua is an exquisite place in Vic! Heaven on Earth❤🦾🙏
I'd say there is one thing better than watching the dry being pulled down under the water Tom, and that's seeing a fish rise to the dry and take it.
I guess it’s all good then 😅😊
Great video Tom. Autumn is such a wonderful time to fish Victorian rivers.
Your looking great Tom.
Great stuff, again. Love your work

Good timing getting in before Easter as that area would be heaving with 4 x 4 trucks and campers this weekend.
😅 haha yeah may be a tad crazy this weekend
this is awesome man keep up the good work!!

Nice work Tom...
Are you using nylon tippets these days rather than fluoro?
When fishing casually myself I use mono. When competing I use fluoro, for sure!

Last time I fished that spot it was full of carp!
Another nice video Tom.
We are headed up there tomorrow.
How are you finding the Contact?
10’2?

Not heaps to be honest, a couple a week maybe on average

How do you mend without pulling the dry under? Never seems to with for me. I'm not sure if it's a gear issue or a technique issue

I know this river really really well if you need some hot spots let me know I can point you into some great fishing holes
