Just saw the movie today. When I heard this music I was like, "Wait a second...where have I heard this from?....wait, is that Bruce Willis?....Did he just mention Mr Glass?....oh shit, this is in the same universe as Unbreakable!"
One of the greatest and most underrated superhero films of all time. This film gets better and better with each viewing. I love the slow and subtle nature of it and I think it is a better film than the sixth sense.
Well, clearly, the Bible tells us we are here to marry, if it comes, be fruitful, multiply, love your neighbor as yourself, and love the Lord with all your heart and soul!!!!
Goatmon There's a cool directorial choice made during that line - note how he transitions from being framed by the rectangular columns, pillars, and ceiling of the station to being framed by the chaotic mass of people just as Elijah says that real life doesn't fit into little boxes.
and yet he decides to go ahead and use the agony he experiences to help people. That's just what a superhero does. Man, Shyamalan just understands everything about what makes a hero tick.
+Anirudh Menon I don't know how much of this was really Shyamalan's doing. After so many bad flicks, I have to wonder how much creative input other folks had in this one.
The scene were Bruce Willis is sitting at the breakfast table with his son,he slides the newspaper over to his son to show him an article about a rescue, and the son immediately realizes its about his father and starts crying,Bruce Willis raises his finger to his mouth to tell the son not to do anything but that everything is ok,,what an incredible scene..Then the scene belonging to the track playing now,,Bruce Willis raises his arms to touch people passing,,did you feel your spine tingling when that happened !!!
Bruce Willis and M.Night Shyamalan may both have ups and downs in their respective careers but at the end of the day no one can take away this masterpiece of a film they've given us. Also, thank you James Newton Howard for this phenomenal soundtrack that will stand the test of time.

When sitting through this towards the end I thought this was a pretty good film, solid entertainment ide say, the scene Kevin talks to the mirror I hear the unbreakable theme, I actually thought to myself, "its a great theme-bit cheap to re-use it from a film thats 15 years old" then the scene in the diner, i hear the news report, I involuntarily start to sweat as the music gets louder my heart starts to race I was slowly figuring out what I was seeing I then see bruce willis and he mentions " mr glass" I was stunned. It's funny because every time I said to someone I was going to see Split I'd always mention Unbreakable as being my favourite M. Night Shyamalan movie. I was both confused and shivery when those notes started, I recognized them right away. After the confusion came the realization and the "NO WAY!" I freakin' LOVED it!
This may be the best track in the entire album. What a beautiful movie. I'm really glad for the period before superhero films were big, where filmmakers were really bravely making them. James Newton Howard rocks.
I love the scene in the station when this score plays. It says that this is the moment, the culmination of all previous events leading to the man becoming a hero. It's beautiful when he comes into awareness and makes the decision of what his life shall now be.
Mr Glass: "Go to where people are, you won't have to look long. It's alright to be afraid David. Because this part won't be like a comic book. Real life doesn't fit into little boxes that were drawn for it"...cut to overhead shot of David watching over a crowd of people like Batman. Truly..a amazing film.
It really was *THIS* theme that got me into loving film scores. I remember sitting in that theater, and realizing I was watching a super hero film, the music swelled, the themes came smashing together in such a poignant and dramatic way, and this theme carried it. David became the Overseer in that bus station. I became enthralled with everything I was seeing and hearing. BEAUTIFUL. "Now that we know who you are, I know who I am. I'm not a mistake! It all makes sense! In a comic, you know how you can tell who the arch-villain's going to be? He's the exact opposite of the hero. And most times they're friends, like you and me. I should have known way back when. You know why, David? Because of the kids. They called me Mr Glass." ~ Elijah Price (I know that it isn't this song that plays in that scene, but that scene encompasses the film for me, and so does this theme)

Unbreakable is my one favourite movie of all time! I have watched thousands of movies.. many themes, many stories.. but my favourite has got to be unbreakable... a story about a normal-guy superhero
@@arsalanhamidi2780 yes, in many ways it differs from the conventional super hero movie.. It focuses on the humanity, on the choices we make in our lives, the people we affect with our actions.. I loved that.. it had such a deep and meaningful sense to it, that have yet to be matched!
I saw 'Glass' today and yes, this theme was used. It was a great, slow paced, intelligent and reflecting superhero movie, just like 'Unbreakable'. Sad to see all the bad reviews. It's so underrated and way more clever and deep than all the repeating Marvel stuff.
I’m so glad I watched this movie. When I watched split In theatres I was so fucking hyped to find out it was connected with Unbreakable. And everyone around me was confused as shit
This score and scene is an example of great storytelling. The scenario is very fitting, the protagonist has an ability that terrifies them and they try avoid it. So comes a situation where they must go to a very dark place and use said ability to understand/combat the antagonist.
Something I wonder is what will happen when Bruce Willis' character meets with the Hoard. According to the Hoard, the broken are the more evolved, and Bruce Willis is practically unbreakable. They are at opposite sides of pain.
@Joanne Finlay Actually Kevin is broken because his mother was abusive and maybe she distreat him, making him split in multiple personalities while in the other hand the girl suffered from violence. I mean just look foward about the partnership between Mr Glass and The horde. Mr Glass is not necessaraly broken because of his mental healthnes, since he is inteligent and doesnt need any mental treatment to fix him, but because of his broken bones. He doesnt have childhood traumas or anything, his mother was a caring person overprotecting, the boys may have fun of him, but nothing near about the suffering of those other two.
@Joanne Finlay Of course the girl has traumas and everything but the thing is: the beast likes her because her body was inperfect, impure so through this premise her soul should be pure.
I freaking stood fast up and yelled when they showed Bruce in Split. I hadn’t felt that type of emotion from a movie in freakin YEARS. I hope I’ll be mentally and emotionally ready for GLASS I’m so nervous
i would not say that lol. but it is very underrated and i would not talk shit on the avengers since M night is a fan of comics reason he made this film. i'm sure the avengers was a dream come true for him
For those who complain about Glass.. it's the tragedy and the realism that makes this movie brilliant.. no overpowered superhero, no crazy city destroying. And in the end.. the things that could've happened.. the lifes he could've saved. Destroyed by an organisation that does everything to hold these people down
I, for one, am waiting eagerly for a sequel.. that being said, I find the movie epic on its own.. it is one of the few movies that have made a lasting impression on me.. and will continue to.. I find it to be one of the most underrated movies of the 00's!!!
Definitely the kind of treatment that gives the super-hero tales a whole new dimension. A dimension that cannot be reached with over-CGI-ied action-packed superproductions. I wish Unbreakable, Split, and the upcoming sequel could only be the first movies of a whole saga based on Shyamalan's universe. Or it could become a TV show, something better/darker than "Heroes", which really took a turn for the worse after its first season, imo.
The David Dunn character reminds me so much of how I viewed my Dad growing up. I thought my Dad was Superman. Nothing ever seemed to phase him, he never seemed like he got hurt or even sick. He was super strong and was always there to protect me, my brother and sister. He’s been shot a few times and still has the fragments in his body. His spine and neck are fused in certain areas and he’s got pins and rods in his shoulders but hardly ever complains. My dad is of course older now but I still view him as Superman and he’s the best grandfather to my 2 year old son and a great husband to my mother, they’ve been married for 30 plus years now.
I loved GLASS a LOT, as well as its score, both in its originality and its reuse of Unbreakable's and Split's themes, BUT the entire movie could've SEVERELY benefited from James Newton Howard's Unbreakable theme one last time, it doesn't appear that many times.
My dad recomended this movie to me before that split be in theaters, i never saw it, when my dad and i went to see split, he get so excited with the ending, then he explains to me what is this about, then i see unbreakable and is one of my favourite films in my life, now we only want to see glass in january !!!!
@@TheEternalOuroboros and you are right, he is awesome, like david and joseph dunn in glass haha or (if you play video games) nathan drake and victor sullivan from uncharted 🤘
It sucks that we've lost Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner, yet people seem to think the only good composers out there now are these synthy-type composers like Hans Zimmer and Henry Jackman. No love for Alan Silvestri, James Newton Howard and John Debney who freakin' almost come close to being John Williams at times.
We don't talk about Michael Giacchino, and he's done so much work for the cinematic industry. (Most notably Star Trek reboot, Up, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. He even did the soundtrack for Rogue One, which he only had a couple of weeks to do, but made tracks that were somehow more memorable than The Force Awakens, which was headed by John bloody Williams himself.)
This movie is timeless and very well done! I have seen some m. Knight films that I didnt care for but you cant deny him credit for this one. The score is obviously great as well
"Go to where people are. You won't have to look very long. It's all right to be afraid, David. Because this part won't be like a comic book. Real life doesn't fit into little boxes that were drawn for it".
I'm very saddened that all my generation will know about from M. Night is Split and maybe The Visit. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed split, but they won't know him for masterpieces such as unbreakable, signs, and the sixth sense. Shyamalan is finally returning I think though, with split being very original in terms of it's narrative and with Glass coming out next year I think he has a shot at redemption. Hopefully more younger people will try his early films after that.
I mean it all depends how ones childhood was like I was born in 97 and I know all about those movies because my father showed them to me and I’m grateful because there on my list of top favourite movies ever M. Night is also one of my favourite directors
Exactly, but these things will come for each generation man :) I was 8 when Unbreakable came out and was hooked on this 6th Sense and Signs as a kid. Made me want to be a film maker just like him. Hadn’t watched it again until my early 20s and the film took on a whole different level of meaning to me.
Don't forget, thanks to Split, Unbreakable is getting some exposure thanks to the internet helping those who hadn't seen it figure out why Bruce Willis appeared. M. Night's legacy might be tarnished by some of his less than stellar films, but the gems he made are still shining to anyone willing to look.
There was a time after release of Unbreakable I was searching all over the internet to find the soundtrack of this film and I couldnt. Thanks for uploading. I feel happy that there are many of us who feel that this was great music and a good film; if not the best of Shyamalan's films, a film just as meaningful as sixth sense.
I really hope in the next movie we get to see Mr. Glass and The Hoard interact and maybe Mr Glass manipulates The Hoard to attack David Dunn, that would be awesome
It's very likely ! Considering that Elijah's purpose is to make people aware of their place in this world, he could convince Kevin that he's meant to spread fear & blood among the "unbroken", that he should accept his faith as the Horde, the same way he convinced David Dunn he was meant to protect people even though he didn't want to accept it. Elijah is a very interesting character, not a true villain, but definitely not a good person either.
watched split having no clue it had anything to do with unbreakable. I heard this song at the end thinking to myself "damn these clowns stole the theme song to unbreakable" then I saw Bruce Willis and I freaked out. unbreakable was one of my favorites when I was younger! I watched it with my girlfriend and my family and they hadn't seen unbreakable and I was freaking out on them telling them "now this is about to get interesting"
Unbreakable was a slow-burn masterpiece. Split was a terrifyingly great sequel. Glass was sadly just an average movie. I saw it as potentially being the magnum opus to M. Night Shyamalan's filming career. Upon watching it, and seeing the ending, you feel as though he felt no love for his characters. David drowned in a puddle. Kevin just got shot in the gut. Mr. Glass got his chest punched in by the beast, breaking all his bones in the process. It just felt hollow, and just didn't feel right. It felt more like fanfiction than the real deal. Even people's fan theories on the movie were more enjoyable to watch than the actual product. One theory proposed that when David was fighting the beast in the warehouse, that whenever lightning flashed, it would make one of the personalities pop out. Both men would be fighting in a setting that would be ill suited for them. Lightning would be changing the personalities within Kevin and the rain slowing down David since its his weakness. But no, we just got an average fight that lasted barely for five minutes. So disappointed with the film. 2/10
Finally watched this MASTERPIECE this last weekend with friends and my mom and even a JEDI MASTER.... O_o I've still got this soundtrack in my head! Easily Shyamalan's best work EVER! And I've watched them all!
When watching Split at the end, I was like ah crap, “the Horde” is gonna kill loads of innocent people, and there’s not a thing anyone can do about it... then this started playing. When I realised this was connected to Unbreakable, all I thought then was, sh*t... David Dunn’s coming for your ass and there’s nothing the Horde can do about it. It was in that moment I realised M. Night created one of the best origin stories to a super hero ever.

rockkiller124 Oh yeah!
It was used in the second trailer.
I saw 'Glass' today and yes, this theme was used. It was a great, slow paced, intelligent and reflecting superhero movie, just like 'Unbreakable'. Sad to see all the bad reviews. It's so underrated and way more clever and deep than all the repeating Marvel stuff.
It was used as dunn theme, but not much since the movie mostly about mr glass
I’m so glad I watched this movie. When I watched split In theatres I was so fucking hyped to find out it was connected with Unbreakable. And everyone around me was confused as shit
frustration, depression, realization, perseverance, and ... victory were all that came to my mind as I listened to this song.
This score and scene is an example of great storytelling. The scenario is very fitting, the protagonist has an ability that terrifies them and they try avoid it. So comes a situation where they must go to a very dark place and use said ability to understand/combat the antagonist.

*Did you drop this baby?*
No, why?
*His arms and legs are broken...*
Excellent music, One of the best movies of M Night Shyamalan
The music from Unbreakable was incredible and very powerful. I'm glad I watched the movie.

Where you in a theatre?
They called me Mr. Glass...
First name: Mr
Last name: Glass
Who does
this film beats avengers any day
You're most certainly right, sir.
indeed. i can never truly get into those overly bright and unrealistic superhero films that everyone else seems to love.
Almost any Superhero Movie. Including Justice League.
i would not say that lol. but it is very underrated and i would not talk shit on the avengers since M night is a fan of comics reason he made this film. i'm sure the avengers was a dream come true for him
MLBHOTFIRE certainly not especially after IW
For those who complain about Glass.. it's the tragedy and the realism that makes this movie brilliant.. no overpowered superhero, no crazy city destroying. And in the end.. the things that could've happened.. the lifes he could've saved. Destroyed by an organisation that does everything to hold these people down
I, for one, am waiting eagerly for a sequel.. that being said, I find the movie epic on its own.. it is one of the few movies that have made a lasting impression on me.. and will continue to.. I find it to be one of the most underrated movies of the 00's!!!
Go see the film "Split". That's all I'm going to say.
I went ape shit when the music started playing!!!!
My sister and I.
Fantastic Music!
If you watch the scene again, orange man doesn't even put a trash bag back in. He is truly evil.
linusnandatidoesitbig having been a cleaner in my previous job I can truly say this is the funniest comment I have ever seen posted.
You sir are the reason I scroll the comment sections.
This is hilarious
Lmao
As a housekeeper, I can safely say this is the best comment I've seen in I don't know how long. 😆
@@TimeandMonotony thanks, I am but a humble internet servant
I loved GLASS a LOT, as well as its score, both in its originality and its reuse of Unbreakable's and Split's themes, BUT the entire movie could've SEVERELY benefited from James Newton Howard's Unbreakable theme one last time, it doesn't appear that many times.
Agree 100%
It's so beautiful to hear the Unbreakable Soundtrack - Visions from James Newton Howard in a new form again in the Glass Trailer 2. I nearly cried 😭
I waited for so long for M. Night to make a strong comeback, and he delivered!
I love this dog so much I could listen to it everyday
My dad recomended this movie to me before that split be in theaters, i never saw it, when my dad and i went to see split, he get so excited with the ending, then he explains to me what is this about, then i see unbreakable and is one of my favourite films in my life, now we only want to see glass in january !!!!
sirBersezio Your dad sounds awesome 💪
@@TheEternalOuroboros and you are right, he is awesome, like david and joseph dunn in glass haha or (if you play video games) nathan drake and victor sullivan from uncharted 🤘
Holy shit I just realized the background beat is the same as that of a train on its tracks 😱
Whoa!! How did I not notice that?!
D Fens
I am not a huge fan of some of the new composers but Hanz Zimmer is hands down the most versatile and powerful composer of recent years.
Bill Murray from The Man Who Knew Too Little The fuck . Why you even attacking Hans Zimmer ? Weird. The guy is a modern day legend.
@@maforo85 You useless bellend, you're the type of cretin I'm talking about.
@@Kyomi_Akatsu Michael Giacchino is cookie cutter hack garbage, the musical equivalent of JJ Abrams. Hum me one of Giacchino's tunes.
This movie is timeless and very well done! I have seen some m. Knight films that I didnt care for but you cant deny him credit for this one. The score is obviously great as well
5:31 that shot of David with that score DAMMIT I LOVE THIS FILM
I totally agree they should make a follow up film, loved the first one and the score!!
"Go to where people are. You won't have to look very long. It's all right to be afraid, David. Because this part won't be like a comic book. Real life doesn't fit into little boxes that were drawn for it".
the music , it never goes down, just higher and higher. it's Amazing.
James Newton Howard is by far my favorite modern movie composer
Its good to have you back M. Night
Considering what Elijah said about their being two types of villains, the soldier and the archenemy, it might very will be.

Mr.SexTrain Lucky you...
yeah!exactly it's happening as trailer shows...
Underrated Gem 💎
Such as your profile picture
One of the best low key superhero films ever made. The opening scene with James Newton Howard’s score is just exhilarating.
watched split having no clue it had anything to do with unbreakable.
I was trying to find this on the Split soundtrack, but never could. I like this. Thanks.
Finally watched this MASTERPIECE this last weekend with friends and my mom and even a JEDI MASTER.... O_o I've still got this soundtrack in my head! Easily Shyamalan's best work EVER! And I've watched them all!
Outstanding trilogy
I just watched it recently, and it's become one of my favorite movie trilogies ever!
One of my favorite films, with one hell of a soundtrack! Split was great, and Glass... well I'll take it.
This "Visions" piece must surely be in my top 10 favorites of all time of ANY music! JNH is the best!
4:50 always gives me goosebumps, this score is incredible
When the drum beat kicked in at the end of Split I fucking lost my mind.
Probably one of my favorite superhero movies ever.
i played this while walking through a train station and a shopping mall. it feels like you're there.
saw glass yesterday and saw unbreakable today! nice music~
great music and great movie. good job shyamalan.
Tremendous movie and score.
I love u James Newton Howard
Love this film, and especially this scene.
Fantastic track from a great movie.
I was surprised to see Bruce Willis come in at the end of Split, I went no freakin way, that was a good twist to it
Why James Newton Howard didn't composed Split?
Budget.
Why is this underrated just why
this was a beautiful soundtrack:)
This Movie is complete, There is no need for a sequel.
Leave it alone and let it remain standing on its own.
