Hey Wayne, when you play mixed, have your girl return the low serve to her like the guy in black is doing it at 07:19 in this video. You'll notice that the Lefty even has to lift this shot which shows how effective it is. Also notice how the guy in black (who returned the serve) takes a step forward to block off the net which eliminates the lefty of even thinking about crossing the net.

Loved the commentary, especially the advice from your friends. The advice about no cross court net shots is 100% right. The shot looks cool, but only works on beginners AND has to be perfect or else you lose. In fact, I don't even cross court net anymore. Finally, when you had the lefty playing with you, try and focus on just setting him up more because he's really good and can outright win it for you! On another note, since you're more of a singles type of player, I think you'll do well in mixed doubles. Ask your friends what they think about you playing mixed. It's fun to follow your journey! Woah!! Thanks so much for the comment! That’s really good insight. I think when I’m playing doubles I need to think about where I’m smashing aswell so that I’m increasing the likelihood of my partner cutting it off and killing it. Thanks for that!
