I just watched this movie for the first time and I’m a little shocked how I’ve never heared of it before. This movie is such a cozy, pure, warm, lovely movie which now is one of my all time favourites.

I think it's just such a great, crazy situation but the premise is also realistic - everyone likes people based on their looks/ impression of them (which might not be entirely accurate), but then find someone whose personality is actually prefect for them.

@@Esther-oq8ve thats alright:)..pull the plug means to literally switch off the life support machine (which a person in a coma usually on) or to kill them off........morbid ik, thats why she was mad and called him sick when he suggested that
The term vegetable may have come from the term "vegetative state" which refers to when a person is in a state of unconciousness/ braindead/ in a coma (like Jack is) ..hope this helps

I always makes sure that every December 24 and 25, I watch this movie. There's nothing but pure innocent, sweet and caring love this movie gives off. It gives you the positive vibes that one soon, you'll have your very own Jack as well.

Classic romance, simple yet beautiful, in the heart of '90s, set in Chicago, with Sandra Bullock and with Christmas vibes!!! Could it be anything better? This movie along with Love Actually, Notting Hill and Bridget Jones are by far my favorite movies!!! Kind-hearted, full of love and happiness!!!

They didn't make many films like this in 1995 either. It was released in the middle of Judge Dredd, Braveheart, First Knight, Rob Roy, Demon Knight, The Mangler, Murder in the first and loads of other crap that wasn't worth seeing. I was 13 at the time and needless to say it was not a great year for movies, and this was a breath of fresh air. Best film of the year imo.

Disney Plus sent me here! I discovered this bittersweet movie just yesterday. The plot reminded me a little of the musical Dear Evan Hansen. Only with a more well earned redemptive ending.

no vulgar scenes, no profanity, promoting family values and family bond, funny, light, and most of all decent movie that doesn’t have any political agenda to shove viewers’ throats
It's the heartwarming romcoms like this gem, that I watch & love movies for. They make my heart feel much better. This pure film will always stay close to my heart.

I just watched an old Cheers episode from 1982 with Glynis Johns and she played an old lady, Diane's mom. Then I watch this from 1995 and she's playing the old lady. Fyi she played the mom in Mary Poppins 1963. And she's still kickin today at 99yo almost 100! 👍😊

ah this was a hidden gem! Sandra is awesome. Bill Pullman is one of them "silent" actors as I call it. It means he may not appear much or is talked about but when he does do a movie, he is fantastic in all of them!! Casper was the first movie I fell in love with! Independence Day was awesome along with Lake Placid! Heck of an actor!!

After watching this movie for many times, I noticed something very funny.. It's when Jack asked Lucy how long she has known Peter. Lucy said 3 months and Jack (perpelexed) replied it was too soon to be engaged after knowing each other for a short time. Jack and Lucy only knew each other for like a week or so... and they got married in the end... 🤣🤣🤣

Erica J The trailer gives away that she ends up with the brother of the guy in the coma. The movie is so good but I wish trailers didn’t have to spoil what happens. This trailer just makes it too obvious that her and the brother fall in love. I watched the trailer before watching the movie (I wish I didn’t) and already guessed just by watching the trailer that her and the guys brother would end up together. Such an amazing movie though I love it

What I find funny about this movie is the sweet grandmother also plays the evil grandmother in another Christmas movie called "The Ref" which came out only a year earlier. You're going to hate her character in that one as much as you love her character in this one.
