Wow... I've been playing the flute for the past 8 or 9 years, but only out of pure necessity to put a smile on my parents' faces. I've never had a true passion for the flute or music for that matter. I didn't hate it, but it was definitely something I would have gladly done without. I've always been more of a brainy and practical kid, not an expressive musician. Being expressive is one of the hardest things for me to do. But seeing you play this piece so beautifully with such passion and care, it really makes me glad that I picked up the flute all those years ago, because only then would I be able to strive to achieve your level of playing. Keep doing what you're doing! 🙃🙃
My story is pretty similar, except that I'm a pianist and violinist (although I also play flute in a band) and that my dad doesn't like me playing music. I mainly do it for my mom and my difficulties are like 100% same as yours, I like studying a lot, I can manage almost any technique with enough practice but I find it very difficult to express music as I am more reserved and I always end up crying when my mom and teachers try to push me to feel it.
I guess I feel pressured as well, my mom wanted to be a pianist but didn't have enough money to study music and I'm the only one out of her four children who likes studying or plays music so I carry both my parents' hopes. Sometimes I just feel like giving up, in fact, I stopped violin twice before even though I prefer it over piano, yet when I see amazing performances like this one it always makes me glad I managed to push on and do something not everyone can do :)

Listen to your heart and do what it tells to you.
Look into the face of Jasmin. She doesn't looks really happy. She lost her pleasure on the way to this level... I see so much pain in her face....

Hello Jasmine, I am 76 years old and play flute since Im 15, but not on a very high level. Mainly I am and I was a jazz trumpeter and I did not know this little piece of beautiful music.
I was home alone and the tears kept running while I was listening to your beautiful performance.
Jasmine you are a great gift to this poor world where world leaders are bringing us to the brink of extinction.

So incredibly talented! Your performance made me cry. I played flute from 1998-2007 and lost my flute during a move. I recently just acquired another one about 2 years ago and I'm building up my talent again. Just like riding a bike hah. But my fingers got a little slower so that'll take time. But you have motivated me to practice more!

I had somehow overlooked this video, and ran across it late in the evening. Such a lovely performance! You sound so peaceful and gentle, happy in a quiet sort of way. This is especially true near the end, starting at 2:15 or so, when you slow down and sound so calm and content. Your playing is so sweet and soothing, just the thing to hear at bed time.
