Amazing! Well we aren't TOTALLY done with videos yet, because I still have one BIG video and maybe some more pattern videos (since I still have a ton of those left)
Thanks for showing how much work goes into this. I’ve been realizing lately how many things just ✨happen✨ in our lives because of unseen labor. Also, this was the perfect video to watch while shelling beans, a project I’ve been putting off, so thanks for that too.
Woof this is so much work! Small businesses (and the people who run them) are really under appreciated!! Well done on getting through the estate sale haul!!
Thank you! Sadly still not done, just done with the fabric. Still have patterns and other bits to go. (including the most awkward bin of body displays I have ever seen....)
I just bought a bunch of fabric from you. I was proud of myself because I spent less than 500 dollars.....unusual for me. Love your site. You brighten my day. No easy feat. Thanks.
Great jobs done by the both of you. Next time you two have to "tag team' a group of fabrics, maybe you should do just that. Tag the fabrics with a length of string and a hang tag with a number. Then Tina can just add the number to the list she is working on. Attach the tag TO THE FABRIC. That way, it won't get separated. So for example Tag#1: Green polyester double knit, 59"wide, etc. is what will be in the journal listing. The tag with "1" will be attached to the green poly double knit fabric. That way, trying to find the fabric to match up with the descriptions will go a lot quicker. Hope that helps. 😊😊
As I was watching you struggle 😢 trying to find bolts, I was wondering if labeling each bolt and corresponding notebook entry with a reference # would make it easier to find its mate? 🤔 I saw you doing something like that at the end for helping find the bolts of solid colored fabric, and I was hoping that brains weren't so fried and the idea would just *POP* in your minds like a lightbulb 💡 switch epiphany 🌈🎇!!! LBVS😂😂 You do a wonderful job and you make it look easy, but coming from the vintage clothing, fabric, sewing, seamstressing, yada yada yada...I KNOW the pain and love that is poured into every ounce of what you do!!❤❤❤ I've been subscribed and watching for awhile, but haven't ever posted because I figured my posts would lost among a plethora of thousands of comments, but on the off chance you see me 👋 I appreciate what you do and I think you're doing a phenomenal job!!! Wife ✅mom,✅ vintage crazy person✅ fantastic human ✅ ❤❤❤
Would help to make a catalog number that listed on note book, bolt and website for easier inventory. It might make less frustration. I don’t know I’m a RN and not a seller of goods.
Honestly, I wish I could say I was that organized. But with everything I have going on, sometimes my stage management brain doesn't kick end until the last minute. 😂
@@StephanieCanada maybe if Tina entered her information on an Excel sheet instead of a note book, the information might be imported directly so the work doesn't have to be done multiple times?
Simplicity finally put their Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress patterns on sale today. Looks like they did listen to you about never putting it on sale.
I must admit it has never occurred to me to wonder how long it takes just to list products on a website. Just a tiny suggestion: If you number the bolts and record the details by number, it will be much faster to find the fabric you are looking for. And if you don't want to write on the bolt ends, a bit of painters tape will come right off once the bolt is listed.
Wow! Good thing you have Tina to help. That looked like part of my fabric stash. I have big closets and they are neat, organized and full of fabric! I need to downsize but want the fabric to go to people that will use the fabric for making clothes. And not just shred it. Any recommendations?
the solution to ADHD overwhelm - make a game of it then bring in outside help to keep motivation up XD Congrats on getting through it all! OH also you said send chocolate - I will absolutely send some Canadian chocolates, where can we find your post box info to mail stuff to you?
I'll have you know watching you has led me though a vintage dress renascence, I don't have the skill to sew but I can draw. I have now today updated 45 of my playlist thumbnails with drawings that has vintage dresses, in them (their gem themed and feature chacters dress in dresses I drew that color). I've drawn 100 vintage/vintage inspired patterns (I have a couple of Mrs. Depew) mostly dress/gowns drawn and I plan on drawing more. I'm throwing a ball so all the pretty dresses are welcome. I have most of them linked on DA and linked to where I found the dresses in the description, as my golden rule with this drawing series someone should be able to make a dress if they like it. (can comfim favorite child is Simplicity No. 3503) But as a funny sidenote I've found my self so mad at vintage dress images that don't include the pattern number or maker (especially if their translated to english). Some other sellers don't include them (so I can't double check with the vintage Wiki). So I really appreciate the work you put into making sure you include all the information in yours, you are heroes for doing so.
That is an interesting idea, however I fear that since it is limited to plastics, vinyl coating and varnish it wouldn't have the full breadth of colors. I am thinking about doing something more streamline should I ever come across something like this again tho.
Unfortunately shipping cost for these fabrics is high because of how heavy each yard is, and how expensive overseas shipping is. I do refund any overage if there is any from purchases overseas.
I couldn't tell if you have one, but if you don't, get a color calibration card. It will make your life much happier, you know, in case you ever buy another store's worth of fabric. 😉
Well....Would you do it again? It's been fun watching the giant fabric store haul and all the video content that resulted, but I know in real life you've had to store it and deal with it. Would you do it again, if given the chance for a do-over, or if another similar opportunity came up in the future?
If I ever have the opportunity again, I would ABSOLUTELY do it again! Especially with all the knowledge I have now, I know so many ways to make this go smoother and better for next time.
We did, but the problem is that only one person was working on this at a time due to how much is happening. And then of course I come in with my chaos and screw up the organization that is in place by making ~videos~ 😂
It feels like you are causing yourself more work than you need to. Why are things being written in a regular paper notebook? Why are pictures being taken, measurements made, but the info is kept separate? Wouldn't it be simpler to assign a number to each product first, and enter into a computer file with that corresponding number, any and all info about that product as it is gathered? Sorry, worked in shipping, and yes, this seems like so much chaos. Grats on getting it all done. Have an awesome weekend.
Unfortunately, I would've absolutely done this if I had thought of it. But with the breadth of items I have on my plate I didn't think of it. However, if I ever find ANOTHER huge estate I will definitely be taking all these tips for the future

Will I buy any fabric or notions to sew with? No.
Did I watch every single video related to this haul? Yes.
Amazing! Well we aren't TOTALLY done with videos yet, because I still have one BIG video and maybe some more pattern videos (since I still have a ton of those left)
@@StephanieCanada. I’m all in for patterns. Especially Vintage. Real vintage not Simplicity Vintage.😉
Ditto!!😂❤❤
Wanted to let you know that Curiosity, Inc. has a trunk full of old patterns that I believe he is going to put up for auction.
Cool! Thanks!
Stephanie as a pin-up girl in the intro ROCKED!
Awww... thanks
I empathize with the fried brain after doing so much data entry/records. Congrats on getting it all done!

I do hope we'll get an monetary update on this once the fabric is gone! It's such a cool journey to follow along with :)
I dont even understand everything thats happening, but i still enjoy watching your videos!
The site finally has a in stock and out of stock options.
