    the runcommand amiberry option automatically chooses a500 or a1200 config depending on filename. (uses a1200 if AGA or CD32 is in filename).

    Works perfectly! This is really awesome...after twenty plus years being able to play the best versions of some of my childhood games (Cannon fodder, Lemmings). Thanks for the video!

    Floob I know this is an old video but hopefully you can help me. I have a usb/wireless keyboard. Retropie recognises it and the amiga emulator recognises it but when I launch Lemmings, Cannon Fodder, Goblins etc that use a mouse the keyboard doesn't do anything neither does my controller so I have to exit out and unable to play them 😣 Is there a work around?

    The extended rom file is for the Amiga CD32.

    • @Floob
      @Floob  7 років тому

      Ah - thanks very much for that :)

    • @heidirichter
      @heidirichter 7 років тому +1

      @Floob Actually, the extended ROM is for both the CDTV and CD32. On both machines, there were 2 ROM chips, a 256K Kickstart 1.3 for the CDTV, and a Kickstart 3.1 for the CD32. These were both prettty much a standard Kickstart ROM. The extended ROMs were in the other ROM chip, which provided the CD audio player, configuration options, and management of the NVRAM in the CD32 - basically, the Extended ROMs held everything that was available without a CD that wasn't available on the non-CD based Amiga models.

    Having trouble with a game called raffles on amiberry. The controller doesn't recognise all the buttons I think it was a mixture of keyboard and joystick. How do I map those keys to my controller.

    I'm trying to rotate the screen 90° because I also use my cabinet for pinballs. I added the "rotation_angle=90" as per the instructions on the support site but it's not doing anything (yes I restarted everything) - I'm not sure where to look next. I know Linux, on which this is running, is notorious for having many config files each superseding the other... but which one?

    Hi. I must be missing something, but I mimic the install Amiberry steps. Belief I have all the necessary Kickstarts, but when I hit start Amiberry I don't get the GUI. I just get dumped back to the ROM list. Any advice?

      @@IzzyTye Yes. I haven't played for a while now, but if I recall you don't actually need to launch 'Start Amiberry'. You launch a game and then hit which every button it is to get into RetropIe options. AND THEN... you switched to either A500 or A1200.

    Windows 32 DiskImager will not open. It asks permission to make changes to my computer which I give it, then a blue circle spins for ten seconds after which it gives up and shuts off. No way to flash software to an SDcard.

    Great video Floob - Installed and already loving the fact you can use launch a game straight from Disk 1.
    A couple of Qs when you have time. I am using a Pi3 Model B. I have all the official Kickstarts. Same Amiberry Settings you are walking through. I am using an 8BitDo controller
    1 - None of my configs save. For example if I change my exit key to F12 or make Port 1 my 8BitDo controller it works for that once instance when I load the game from the GUI but not if I try another game straight from EmulationStation menu or go back into the GUI
    2 - Any game I try, even Cannon Fodder or Sensible Soccer, take almost 5 times as long as yours to load with multiple flickers and blank black screens. Have you edited your video?
    Cheers

    • @Floob
      @Floob  7 років тому

      When you make the change, do you go back to configurations and hit Save?
      Yep, I have edited the video, but I guess it will load faster if you move the slider on the "Floppy Drives" menu.

    • @laurencepatel
      @laurencepatel 7 років тому

      Hi Floob - I was able to get the configs to save after updating the permissions on all of the files.
      Changing the floppy drive speeds certainly helped with load times but as expected was less stable.
      Regarding loading multiple disk games by launching from disk 1 adf are you sure it loads the subsequent disks as needed?
      If you have it, try the original Batman the movie game. After completing level 1, it asks for disk 2 but it's impossible to load the second disk. If I launch from Amiberry GUI and mount both disks there are no issues.
      Just seeing if you can test and confirm. Thank you

    @Floob Thanks for the video! Did you have more time to play with Amiberry? Wondering if github.com/Douggernaut/RetroPieAssistant/tree/master/Amiga can be used for multi-disks or does Amiberry take care of this now?

    • @Floob
      @Floob  7 років тому

      Yep - multi should work fine:
      Multi disk zip support for Vice (C64 emulator), fs-uae, uae4arm and Amiberry (Amiga). You can now launch Amiga disk images directly from Emulation Station with uae4arm and Amiberry.

    I installed Amiberry OK, but no Amiga Games yet. When I go to the systems rom file it's empty. Where did you get those roms and how did you get them in the right directory?? I found some rp files, but apparently those aren't roms. I have Amiga Forever 2017. Are the right roms in there in my PC?

    • @suburbia2050
      @suburbia2050 5 років тому

      You have probably worked it out by now, but the ROMs are still under copyright so you need to own them e.g. own a real Amiga and rip the ROM to a file. Luckily, Cloanto (creators of Amiga Forever) still have distribution rights to the original ROMs and have ready-ripped software versions (*.rom files). Cheapest way to get the roms is via Cloantos app on Android Play/Apple store. Alternatively purchase their Amiga Forever download and install it e.g. on a PC. For the PC install of Amiga Forever, the ROMS are in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Amiga Files\Shared
      om directory. If you buy the Amiga Forever plus versions you will get ROMs for all Amigas, which is great, if you buy Amiga Forever basic or their Android/Apple app you will just get the A1200 Roms. Just copy the ROMs to your Raspberry Pi via USB drive or via SSH (e.g. WinScP, need to enable SSH in the Retropi advanced settings) and put in the Amiberry ROM directory for it to pick them up automatically. N.B. *.rp files are Amiga Forever bundles files but Amiga Emulators can read them.
