Is There a Second AN 225 Being Built?

- It was originally developed during the 1980s as an enlarged derivative of the Antonov An-124 airlifter for the express purpose of transporting Buran-class orbiters. As the 1990s progressed, it became clear that there was sufficient demand for a cargoliner even bigger than the An-124. Accordingly, it was decided that the first An-225 would be restored.
The aircraft was re-engined, received modifications to modernise and better adapt it to heavy cargo transport operations, and placed back in service under the management of Antonov Airlines. It became the workhorse of the Antonov Airlines fleet, transporting objects once thought impossible to move by air.

Very good and underated
Thank you, it means a lot that you like the video.
0:06 Correction: February 2022 NOT February 2020 I’m guessing it was just a misunderstanding.
@@EchoBravoIndiaI was talking to you BTW
@user-bt8vd8gx8h I understand what you mean, I was trying to say 2020, due to though the audio wasn’t very clear so it sounded like 2022.
@@EchoBravoIndia I think they meant it was destroyed in 2022 not destroyed in 2020
never thought a plane could make me cry.
As an airplane refueler, the An-225 holds over 100k US gallons of fuel. The An-124 holds 93k gallons and the American C-5 holds 86k gallons the last time I was a refueler. (That might have been updated)
Antonov Design Bureau was in Ukraine and took back possession of the plane when the fall of the USSR happened , then they created Antonov Airlines to put it to good use, the demand for such a large plane is huge , they could have 2 more and they would always be flying so yes they will finish the second airframe but the engine layout may be different since 4 engines of today can do the job of 6
It think it will be built the same. All of the An-124s use the same progress engines so im not sure it would make sense to change it. Maybe if they designed a new engine for all of them it would make sense.
A second one is 75% complete and in storage, waiting for the funds and resources to finish.
Ukraine and world aviation community needs this mighty plane back in the skies. It was attracting huge number of aviation enthusiasts for every landing and takeoff. This was the masterpiece of aviation engineering.
The last word I heard is that Ukrane announced they would use parts as needed from the "second" AN-225 to restore the original aircraft, once the war was over.
I hope so This was a magnificent airplane I got to see it land and take off in Dallas Texas one year I was on a 747 and felt small.
I was waiting for a second flight when this plane took off and it took all of the longest runway that was available and it didn't look like it was going to stay in the air It looks so slow because of its size at nearly 100 m.
As the plane departed the runway it rolled slightly to the left and we got a great view of the size of this massive aircraft. That was some 15-20 years ago. What a sight
nice vid
2:38 i hear the sadness in this mans voice and it makes sense
extremely underrated
almost everything about this video is insanely good besides the timing at 0:18 with the reverse. just some feedback 😅
Thank you for the feedback on the timing, I will work out a better transition on the next video.
Good vid

The Soviet space shuttle was called the buran btw
a 2nd an-225 was actualy being built way before the first was destroyed it was somewhere in the early 2000s i think
dude a second was built before to transport the buran.
then they retired the second one
The second one was never finished, they were building it but the Soviet Union collapsed so construction on it was never done.
nice vid but i dont think the totonov i like call it totonov is the biggest plane like i think cuz there was a plane in WW2 with a long wingspan and idk if it was bigger or not if am wrong srry
There was the Spruce Goose around the time of WW2 and it was the largest aircraft at a period in time. Though I’m pretty sure it only flew once. So the Antonov AN 225 is considered the largest operational aircraft in the world due to the Spruce Goose being not in use.
@@EchoBravoIndia well i knew it flew only once but.. i dont remember is name
MY PRYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERD!!
Not arguably the largest. Largeness is usually determined by weight, and the An-225 is indeed the heaviest plane in the world.
Yeah, that is true I should have been more clear when I was defining it as the largest plane. Thanks for the info, and feedback.
@@EchoBravoIndiadon’t worry bro commenters like him are so technical and ruin everything 😂
@@Jeb189 Largest by length.
Arguably largest by weight - StratoLaunch at full load is very close.
Stratolaunch is the longest wingspan.
How about we say the largest aircraft that has ever flown in commercial service - Stratolaunch so far has only flown test flights.
Hey, I seen that plane my mother saw it
It's the buan space shuttle
Yeyyyy!!!!!!
225😱
Russia betrayed the Soviet airplane :/
I want them to rebuild the AN-255 because it is a super cool aircraft and I want it back.
Also it wasn’t February of 2020
prob if notnnow it will be after the war
