@@christophermichaelcarpio6910 If you can't anchor into masonry or a wooden stud, or if you're dealing with metal studs, Toggler brand bolts are best in my experience. They're effectively one-handed toggle bolts, but you can't use them on single arm mounts (the mount needs to have a backing plate so you can get at least 4 anchors in.) If it's and articulating mount that comes off of the wall then you can't anchor to sheetrock, you need to make a plywood or equivalent backer that's anchored to atuds, and then anchor the mount to the backer board. *an articulating mount
This is AWESOME, I can never picture what’s happening and am just trying to learn handy skills around the house and this removed 80% of my uncertainty haha
his drill had a Phillips head mounted and that is obviously not a Phillips head screw he probably didn't notice it didn't have the indent on top until he tried to use it
2 ficher were used, one opened up second didnt, is it coz u didnt apply more screw or the first one is for drywall and it opens on screwing, should i note that i have hollow wall situation to the seller?
Did you drive thru the wall or just hold it up on other side and drive screw into it? Recent experience has been so many foreign rip offs are being made from inferior materials you are lucky if any of these work let alone hold up over time!
I am trying to install blinders on my windows but neither my masonry bits nor my regular drill bits will work with my dewalt 20v impact driver. The hooks won’t drill on the top of my window.
Ok, what are anchors #9 and #10 on the first set? Those two are interesting. I have never heard of these two (that I know of) or at least I never knew the entire anchor begins to twist and collapse to the dry wall.
Yeah, but what if the drywall is old and crusty and 50% of the time your pre drilled hole just flakes out and the anchor doesn't work? Drywall anchors suck. You're better off making false framing.
I'm so confused. What one is gor plasterbourd with timber beam directly behind it. I need to fix a curtain pole to plasterboard with timber beam behind.
Every time I use drywall anchors, no matter how tight the hole is when I hammer them in, when I put the screw in, it just goes in all the way and spins freely, it doesn't expand the anchor or anything, any ideas what the problem is?
It's the drywall, it just breaks away. Screw through the drywall and into brick work. If it's a hollow wall, use hollow wall anchors, they need a special tool to compress them. Unfortunately, they're not easy to remove once in, and damage the drywall if you try removing them.
Which one for a small tv bracket going into wood like this, I can see behind the wood its hollow with about a 5inch hollow void? After looking again something tells me 4th one down from the top, is that right?
Thank you. I'm 38 and been in construction for 77 years. This is the first time I've seen the other side of anchors.
How can you be 38 years old and be in construction for 77 years when the earth is only 50 years old
😂
@@Bob-mj5vl true 🤔
Thank you so much, I always wondered what was happening on the 'other side'!😊

Crazy to think about how much damage to the drywall would occur if you needed to remove the anchors.
You don't pull them out, when you want to remove them.
@@dieterburdenski1602 How do you do it?
@@bernardodc9631You take the screw out. The plug just falls inside the wall and stays there.
@@nataliebutler yeah I meant the plug, I wanted to change the location, but the wall is very fragile
@@bernardodc9631 I'm not sure what you're asking. The plug ends up on the floor inside the wall. You patch the hole and make a new one.

What are the names of each one of the wall plugs?
No clue but I use the red and grey ones for dry wall and they work awesome
Rawl plugs
Very cool to see how each brand/model design works 👍
Probably the most satisfying thing I've seen all day
Most satisfying video ever.
Name of the best anchor please?

This video saved me and my partner a long argument about how our screws worked. Thank you so much! (Neither of us were right)
That is a great demo. Thank you so much!!
4th one on drywall is basic that comes with anything you need to hang. As you can see they are the worst, ALWAYS upgrade. Don't use them
Those aren't the best, but it's also possible it was installer error. If the hole is a bit too large it can really degrade holding power.
Why use wood? Show them in drywall.
The 5th one from the top is the best dry wall/hollow wall anchor to use 💯
Why did you skip the big one on the second part it’s bothering me!!! I played it back to double check!!!
😂😂😂 same
Screwdrill head does not fit to that one!🎉
Therapy helps
I think I like the metal one & yellow one the best! Looks so sturdy as if it will last a millennia without decay.
I'm a big fan of the metal ones myself at home

Great video!!!
Helps me choose the right anchor for what I need
This was actually surprisingly satisfying to watch.
Great short. Actually a good one
Except there is always rockwool behind which stops expanding of wall plugs and they become absolutely useless

Anyone know what this one is called?
The 4th one is called a Rawlplug Plug interset, some call them Molly plugs.

How do I judge when to stop? Would the obvious answer be when the screw is flush with the anchor with the anchor opening?
