First time I heard a pastor quote from the book of Enoch in the pulpit. There are some things in the extra books that don't sound biblical or sound like they are outside the character of God. It's a topic for another day though.
2nd Genesis aka book of Jasher. The book claims Mechizedek is Shem. It also claims Shem is the one that taught Abraham, Isaac and Jacob about God that's why they knew how to sacrifice and to which God etc. Mentioned in Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18.
The book of Jasher has a funny reason why Cain killed Abel, you'll have to read it yourself and decide. The book sounds like someone was trying to close gaps in the Bible, this is according to my understanding. The online version might not be the real book of Jasher mentioned in the Bible, take note.
@@olwethusibanyoni1715 if you trust the book now called jasher, you believe cain and his seed were righteous and killed abel righteously in direct contradiction to SCRIPTURES, you must believe the days of enoch leading up to the flood were amazing and peaceful in direct contradiction to SCRIPTURES... there are literally dozens of these extreme opposites of the Bible.

Thank you for the information bro 🙏
the most quoted "OT" books in the NT... isaiah... psalms... both around 55-60 times... but 1 enoch is quoted over 100 times
Ah!!!,It was the teaching of the Saducees at that time?
There are a whole lot of scriptures in the bible that quotes other books which were not included in the bible.
