I've had the RAH version of Vader from ROTJ on the shelf here for around 13 years now. I love it, the helmet removes in two sections to reveal the sculpt underneath. I love the fact that with the helmet on the actual Sculpt of the character is there as part of the figure.
The attention to details is honestly very impressive even the little features about Vader's outfit you don't see when taken apart or how life like his face looks. Then the you showed off Robo Cop. Mind blown.
Norm/tested, definitly check out Jazzinc dioramas if you are into 1/6th scale Hot Toys figures aswell. He is currently working on a multitude of diorames/replica's in 1/6 to fit in with the hot toys line. His Falcon Cockpit and BVS Batmobile (and many other projects) are incredible and fit in very well with your content, a true maker providing content to the 1/6th scale (and even 1/12th now) community!
I finally just got mine in today, and it was a nice surprise because it arrived a day early and I already had a bit of a busy day and I didn't know how to fit it in the day, but I couldn't resist and I did. Vader is my favorite character of all time in ANY medium. I've bought just about any 1/6 Vader, and that includes the Kenner/Hasbro ones from the days of old as well. While the one released from both Sideshow and then Hot Toys have been incredible, with the quality and increasing with every release setting a new bar, I feel this is what I've been waiting for since I was 10 yrs old, and I'm 35 now. I remember watching the bonus feature interviews with George Lucas back in the day on the Special Edition VHS's, and he had these badass Vader, Boba, and Rancor statues/figures in the background and I always thought "my god.... I want that so bad". Now we live in a time where thats entirely possible now, for a price of course, and even better than what George was sporting as a prop behind him. This Vader is incredible. I've marveled at the other 1/6 releases, which are no slouches by any means... they're incredible. Like you said, it's different seeing this kind of extreme detail in this kind of scale. It's a bit of a game changer. Something as simple, but at the same time complex as the stitching, it makes a drastic difference in comparison between 1/4 and 1/6 scale. I don't typically collect 1/4 scale, as I just don't have the room for it, and when I do get one, I'm eliminating precious shelf space to accommodate one big ass figure. So in that sense it doesn't make much sense for me to collect these big boys, but characters like Fett and Vader, and Joker... I couldn't pass up and I'm glad I didn't. Easily, hands down, and just like 1/4 Boba, best version on the market, and I think it'll be a while before these are outclassed.
I own this Vader it is amazing , buy this any day over the 1/6 scale version you wont be disappointed ! The LIGHTSABER lights up there is a panel you take off on the light saber and it lights up. The base he comes with also lights up.
560 USD? For what? If you think about it there's not much more than the head. Yes, there's the cloth, front plate and helmet, but that's nothing which bumps up the price significantly. Not even lit up sword. But hey, it's Norm, definitely has money to spend considering all those other extremely pricey show and tell's...
Hey just FYI - one of the hallmarks of the Episode 4 Vader, which your smaller figure doesn't seem to represent, is that he wore the cloth vest on TOP of his chest plate. In ESB and ROTJ the chest plate was on top of the vest, as you have it on both figures. Thanks for the great video!
Ever since hot toys included lightsaber blades that light up, anything 1:6 scale or larger that doesn't have a light up blade is a disappointment to me. This is a beautiful statue that falls short because of that, just IMO.
Great job. I love my sixth scale empire Vader. Good review. Made it alot about the figure. Most reviewers on UA-cam make it more about the reviewer than the figure. Plus keeping it under 10 mins is great. Funny when ppl make the videos they tend to go forever. Some go for 30 plus mins. Best to keep it short and simple. Plus fun.
