Dorothy Whipple put a coercive controller in her book "They Were Sisters". He never laid a hand on his wife or children, but he did his best to destroy them. That book was published in the 1930s I believe. It is well worth a read.
its me to a tea walking on egg shells and never nowing what mood he was in and crying all the time still am actuly i used to ring him to test the water hes bin ill but its my fault he never checked my phone i was ill 16 months ago id fall asleep at a drop and we would watch tv and id drop of he would use his leg hit my head to wake me up al the time i m still married and iv learnt to ignor it i dot want to leave my home iv lived her since i was a week old never mooved iv alway said to people idrather he hit me coz when they do thats it till the next time this is 24/7 and u feel no worth
Someone young who i knew, went through this and more. Sadly, no longer with us, it destroy lives.

That’s awfully sad to read. You deserve more than this life of abuse. I hope you find the courage to leave him when it’s safe to do so ❤
