I actually saw this live back in 1992 when it aired. I was 16 years old! At the time I lived in Ecuador and our cable service had this Canadian music channel called Much Music, which was sort like MTV, but way better! Much Music played all kinds of music...literally anything from heavy metal, blues, rock, and even jazz. Anyway, I was amazed listening to Chris. Many years later I saw Chris Duarte perform in Salt Lake City
Thanks to Rev. Bob for sharing this!!! Totally blew me away and realized what a great player Duarte is. I think I first heard of him around this time. 1992/1993 when I picked up Texas Sugar Strat Magic at an Army PX in Germany. I LOVED that cd. Couple years later I got stationed in TX and drove to nearby Austin to see him open for Joe Satriani. Lets say...I much preferred Duarte...His bluesy / rock guitar was awesome..The Satriani technical playing left me a little bored. Fast Forward few years later...and IM living in Omaha...Every year Chris and the band would come to the Ranch Bowl or other places in town...Twice on my birthday....met him few times and always posed for a photo and got his autograph..Really cool , down to earth guy. THis is a great show..that Hostess is a cutie too!

So humble and down to earth.

This is the definitive version of Drivin South.
Yep. Even Jimi and Stevie didn't play it this good
crazy good
Thanks for posting this video! I remembered seeing it 10 years ago somewhere but couldnt find it again for a long time.
EXCELLENT Thank's
OHHHH man!! Now this is one of the coolest Chris Duarte posts now. FInally this whole show turns up. Thanks!
The greatest version of Drivin South of all time by the greatest Basque guitar player of all time
Love the tone of that L series Stratocaster.
Jeff Hodges on Drums
Fender 75 combos. Better to use a Y cable than his method.
Man, why not just focus on the music? His method produced IMHO the best version of Drivin South ever, including those by Hendrix himself.
@@therealdecross agree totally, just being a nerd.
I used to have one...those babies are loud! lol
