You spoke to my AFOL soul when you said, "too much gray." LOL. One of my issues with Lego Citys is it's so easy for them to become a sea of varying shades of gray. Any amount of color added makes a big difference, in my not-so-humble opinion. I'm enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work!
Yes, adding greenery or other details really helps break it up. There's a lot of gray in real cities, but more than two shades of it. And plenty of other things too, signs, people, etc. Thanks for watching!
I like the format of the video series; music, time-lapse, voiceover of thoughts. The city building make logical sense and it's clean. What Lego themselves should have done.
Dude! Been a minute. Love the bakery update. So you know, you are my new smooth jazz Lego UA-camr. And I mean that in the most complimentary of ways. Keep it up and play well.
@@rebricks Heck yeah it is. I wanted to add that because the bakery window is larger now, maybe add items on each side of the main cake? Just an observation/thought
Hey again! Wanted to give you a shout and, depending on where you are in North America, let you know about the Lego sale at Meijers. I just got a new Indy set (Escape from the Lost Tomb) for 20% off. Absolute craziness. Check it out if they are in your area! Hope to see a vid soon. Play well!
This is amazing. I love it. My 4 year old grandson and I sat watching you work on your Lego this afternoon and loved it. He loves trains and is now trying to talk me into getting him some of this Lego for Christmas.
The train crossing is awesome an so detailed. The only thing i can suggest is a little seperation between the pavement where the umbrella tables are and the train track. Maybe some bushes or flower pots.
The idea of turning the parts of the welding machine into gate lights is wonderful. Depending on how you use it, the infinite possibilities of ideas will expand.
Always excited for a new upload! Great job on the expansion of the bakery with the chairs, and its amazing how you got realistic, yet articulated crossing guards!
I liked the video because I wasn't allowed to have legos growing up. And it has always been a dream of mine to build a lego city. I am still unable to at the moment, so watching your videos are the next best thing.
I love your showing that a small city can be just as luxurious as the large ones seen on this platform. I also like how your introductions explain what you’ll be doing and then speed build as you narrate. I would however like to see you incorporate some more detailed explanations, or even instructions, on how you finally accomplish some of the more complicated or tricky parts (ie railroad diagonals etc). I enjoy how you are focusing on “believability” and detail. I also really enjoy the soft spoken narrations- you are the BOB ROSS of Lego 😂👍
Don't know which part I like the most. Extending the bakery gives the building a better profile. The new floor to the apartment fixes the original "unfinished" look, and the crossing signals look amazing. Keep up the good work
Incredible parts usage on the skylight for the flower shop. That was inspired! I also agree with the style of crossing guards you chose. I’m not sure that anything more elaborate would match the build style you’ve used so far. Another fun episode, I look forward to the next one.
The approach of building up (pun intended) to those awesome goals of automation, but for now just building and enjoying yourself is just a great approach at life in general. I still struggle with burning myself out by trying to perfect something all at once instead of recognizing where I’m at and where my time and sanity needs checking, and moving onto the next thing. You really nail down knowing when to show the time lapse of building with just music in the background, and when your commentary is necessary. The rail road crossing construction video it was perfect that you talked through it, and this was majority building and then retrospective commentary. I know you said you love hearing our ideas, but personally I still am just enjoying your insight and what you’re coming up with. No doubt in the future I’ll have a suggestion or tip or idea or something with more input, but I normally watch, listen and recognize before presuming I have something to add critically. Keep up the good work. I understand the busyness. Work and life is in full swing, and very little playtime, but these few minutes of your videos are an oasis. That bit about the book but instead being on your phone was also incredibly relatable lol. Thank you again and Happy Bricking!
I really like what a difference that bigger window made in the bakery and how much extra space you gain from such a small shift. I also like your tiling work outside the bakery and the little tables. Like you, I would probably set my book down and play on my phone. :)
Since I'm dreaming to build something like that on my own for a pretty long time, I like absolutely everything about this video. Just waiting for further expansion and obviously would love to see more custom creations =) Keep it up and dedicate time to your hobby on regular basis even without filming - it helps a lot!
I enjoy seeing your techniques for the buildings, they remind me of some mini city kits that my daughter and I built a while back. We just had a small table with a strip of shops and road but it's cool seeing where that can grow. Great fun adding super hero and villain mini figures to play in the city. I'm also a fan of Lego Trains and have a couple customs based on the D&RGW.
I just found the channel with the angled rail crossing episode, and I've spend all afternoon catching up. That crossing alone was utterly genius, but now, seeing everything else, I'm entirely floored. The way you work with these bricks, both with the tiny details, and with the larger shaping of everything is just so impressive. Your willingness to go back, undo, and redo your previous work is really admirable too. Even the videos themselves are really cozy to watch, and you've improved that so much in such a short time. I'm really looking forward to what Brickland will go on to become, and I hope you keep having fun doing it! I'm particularly curious what you'll do with those fancy raised baseplates... 🤔
Fantastic channel! I’m about to get my own LEGO City layout started. Glad you’re showing the whole process. I’m a little overwhelmed with starting, but seeing your start is inspiring. You’re doing something right, because the UA-cam algorithm suggested your channel. You’ve got my subscription!
Tip for your crossing lights add a round white stud behind the red ones and they will show more easy and may look better? Just an idea. Love your vid keep up the good work 😊 13:02
something that makes this channel much better then other ones is the organization and the filming quality there are guys who have great city's however the filming quality is not so good. Really nice crossing
Realy good Style of Videos ! All good Bro . 😊 . Not too fast , Not too slow . Backside of the House is cool . The steps and the Plattforms are great Idea . Sorry for my English , im German . The plant under the Sidewalk Looks cool . ❤ Good Videos .
Hey, great to watch another one of your fantastic uploads. I always find watching your uploads fascinating and extremely clever. Here is me I don't have a Lego city, I just build sets I like from the box and display them. Maybe one day if I had more room I'd love to moc and build but for now I'm really enjoy seeing how your city is expanding. Fantastic and amazing work you've put into the rail crossing. P.S. I've found out that I can't watch your videos last thing at night, the music is so chilled and I just zone out!. 😊. Take care buddy and sending my best wishes to you and the rest of the family.
I'm planning on finishing the whole road soon, and then I'm going to use one of those new stunt motorcycles to try and cross the tracks before the train! Those new bikes are so cool!
i like your building techniques! It gives me inspiration on the possibility of building my own city! I just started in december with lego again, so im looking for inspiration on how to build my own lego city...
Good vibes, love the video as always! Making that patio a raised ceiling and skylights was a great change and I love the use of the curved windows! I am concerned about the potential for Brickland to get in a lawsuit with the exposed train track so close to the seating though 😂 I'm sure you've got a plan, you have amazing creativity. Looking forward to the next one
Love these videos. My 5 year old loves trains and level crossings and can't stop watching you build them, he's even interested in the buildings! The only issue I have is...my boy now wants me to build the crossing 😂. So my question is what is the part number for the red and white pieces please? Thanks
Yes! I definitely will have a bus and a bus stop or two in the city. I think I have a location in mind for at least one stop, and I think I'm going to use that new bus that's in the new city set 60335.
I notice that you really like to reveal text with like a hand or something moving, which I think is really nice! Something that you might want to try is masking! That way you can mask out the hand and animate the tracking of that mask so that it's a more accurate way to reveal graphics or text. However, I know it takes extra time to create these transitions but I since you seem to like to learn more about video production, I figured it might be nice to mention it! I know Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Premiere Pro have tools to mask things out but it might be available in other media editing programs too! If you do decide to try it out, good luck with it! Keep up the great work! It's really nice seeing your video skills and your Lego city grow each time you upload something! Here's to seeing more great content from you in the future!
Thanks! I’ve been trying to learn something new related to video production and implement it in each video, so it’s great that someone noticed! I used DaVinci Resolve, I’m sure that has masking too. I will look into that!
That bakery is looking amazing! Could you use Powered Up or Mindstorms to automate the gates? I know you focus a lot on the interior but you could use a building to hide the electronics?
Yeah there's a lot you can do with MILS plates and hiding wires and stuff like that. Eventually I'm going to use some sort of smaller microcontroller like a Raspberry Pi or Arduino, but that's probably a ways off and maybe not even in this layout.
If you continued the angled crossing of the track as one additional straight and then had the curve, how would it affect the train where it goes under ground? I think that may be a better solution than the plants on the sidewalk
It puts both lines close together right at the start of the raised platform, which means I’d have to put them together in the same tunnel, which would be fine, but I want two tunnels!
I honestly feel bad in an imaginary sense for the lego men that work in your buildings because elevators are too expensive even probably in the lego world so they are stuck using stairs in most buildings
Well you kind of have to use your imagination with lego at times like that because to build domething that actually looks good and isnt gonna take up alot of space is really hard

Yeah I tried making a fence but didn't like anything I came up with so I put that aside for the time being.

Thank you! 😊 They are pretty cool, but you should definitely check out AfolTVs crossing guards. Those are really close to what US ones look like.
K I will check it out, keep up the great work!

Really great job on the roof ! Love how you use the trans clear round panels 👍👍
Thanks! There was _a lot_ of troubleshooting for that roof. 😅
Level crossing looks brilliant.
Now I need to go watch episodes 1 through 6.

The upgraded buildings look great!
I think some railing between the back of the bakery and tracks would be a nice, safe addition!
indeed! its on my list for sure

lol yeah I need fences or something
Love it👌🏻
But the area need some trees, than its perfect
Agreed! The far side of the road is going to be a hill/cliff up to the platform there with a forest!
Great work 🎉 great update
Glad you like it!
I love your city!
Liked and Subscribed. I like your creations as well as your voice!
😊
You should make the crossing gates diagonal, too. Parallel to the track like in real diagonal crossings
I’ve only ever seen them perpendicular to the road in real life. I think then it’s more visible to people in cars.
Good job dude❤❤🎉
Love these videos. My 5 year old loves trains and level crossings and can't stop watching you build them, he's even interested in the buildings!
The only issue I have is...my boy now wants me to build the crossing 😂. So my question is what is the part number for the red and white pieces please? Thanks
Sorry for the late response, but the parts I used were 6538c, which use axles, but you could also use 62462, which uses pins.
diagonal crossing !!! why I didn't think about this!!! have you ever thought about switching the train to 9v system?
I have. I may eventually make the switch, but I already have all the tracks! Its spendy!
What’s next? Keep up the good work!
I think I’m finally going to tackle another building behind the train platform!
I really like the train station you made. Will you make a bus stop in your city too?
Yes! I definitely will have a bus and a bus stop or two in the city. I think I have a location in mind for at least one stop, and I think I'm going to use that new bus that's in the new city set 60335.

I _think_ the gates are supposed to be angled to the cars, but maybe I'm wrong. It'd be an easy fix in any case! Thanks for watching!

Why does that first building remind me of Sweeney Todd 🫣
🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊Yx❤❤❤❤❤❤
You may want a barrier between the seating area and the railway, don't want someone tripping over and landing in the path of a train
Fences will happen someday!
do an aeroport please an small one
Is that a moc of a Portland MAX type 2 LRV on the shelf behind your city?
Hahaha I wondered if someone would notice that! It is a very early prototype. I will make a video about it eventually.
Can you list the artists you used for the background music?
I think UA-cam automatically links them in the description? They’re all from UA-cam studio.
I honestly feel bad in an imaginary sense for the lego men that work in your buildings because elevators are too expensive even probably in the lego world so they are stuck using stairs in most buildings
