This is why the 1,000 Filipino soldiers beat the 40,000 Chinese/Korean soldiers in the Battle of Yultong when they ran out of ammo they used there anting anting and the brutal art of Kali
Hahaha no record for fighting the Philippine marine who is real master of Kali go to headquarters to the Philippine marine corps grand turon is istolen and vailor fake soldier
This is actually a beautiful and deadly art. If you combine Krav Maga, Pekiti tirsia kali, kickboxing, jiujitsu, gun training, parkour and rock climbing, you gonna be deadly as hell.
I remember my grandfather was dance fighting with a friend on my aunt's wedding day in Guimaras, Phillippines using the kali style back when I was very young. I think of them as blade assassins. I wish he pass on the skills before I moved away.
Your right they called way back one swipe don't comeback its the traditional knife and bolo fighting as sometime called head hunters or the bird dancers with combination of defense+ offense at the same time then strike to finished it ....
It's never too late Marcus, I was sort of like you. My parents came from the Philippines, migrated to Hawaii whare I was born, I watched in secret in the evening when my father and Godfather played or practiced. Because I wasn't allowed to watched. It was at age 12 when father thought me a few lesson but when I used it in a fight, ( it was self defense, I was being bullied) he never told me what the art was but I clearly remember the moves, my father stopped teaching me. By age 40 I tried to trace my father's roots I landed here now in the Philippines and still learning the art (and with a family here now of course) 😊. Find your roots my friend.
This is the real deal without any embellished Westerners trying to teach! I have to ALWAYS humble myself and lay in the cut when I can obtain the truest sense of the art from an Originator not an Immitator!
Really enjoyed this video! Well done from the video footage to editing and obviously the content. Maybe because i understand it and can relate, but well done. Great work!
My late grandfather was a guerilla during World War 2. He told us his story about the war and the guerillas. He was 15 when he joined the guerillas. Not only they were masters in martial arts, they were also masters in magic. He witnessed that their two commanders were repeatedly fired shot by the Japanese soldiers but still alive. The bullets were just like muds when landed to their bodies. Those were ones of the unrecorded events during the war.
oddly enough, in terms of the long bladed weapons, the PKT moveset is even more devastating when you're running it with a typical sundang/itak/tip bolo as the weight is more concentrated near the edge which gives a more powerful swing but its probably slightly slowing down the user compared to something like a pinuti or the graceful looking ginunting which is balanced in all aspects.
They have a tendency to use footwork that is very similar to what you see freestyle wrestlers uses. One foot forward, with body crouching forward and low.
Those are the basic ones. The advanced moves involves jumping attacks designed for taller opponents or simply just another way to kill fast and efficiently.
This event looks so amazing! Although it feels really strange to not see any comments about how a MMA fighter would be able to submit these martial artists using their BJJ powers .
because I don't think it's wise to WANT to grapple with a person who is weapons trained! " Yes YES... let me do my BJJ on you..." 10 stabs later...what the &^&%$ happened?? LOL
This fighting style is meant to be learn from a young age to be very effective and precise. Same for all type of system and even sports like boxing. Pacquiao trained to be a boxer since maybe 6 but formally train as a boxer later. Longevity of training makes you stronger not the fighting style itself.
This is badass...every strike meant to break flesh and bones! Their balance, stance, and deliberate striking power shows the benefit of knowing kali 😊 these are friendly fight. In real world, every exposed flesh is a target 😊 ouch!
The deadliest form of Martial Arts, if one of those cold Rattan Sticks get you, either you will have CUTS or bruises on your skin, it's very popular in Hollywood movies like the Bourne Identity series, James Bond Quantum Solace and 300
When holding a knife, you should never have your thumb on the blade. They can flick their knife at your thumb too easily. Taught by a Vietnam vet Grand Father green beret.
I saw a sparring match only wearing head gear and damn one lost his stick so he tackled him to the ground. from the looks of it they were used to it since they didn't dodge nor hesitated during the fight
Hello:I want to learn it and how can i learn if i come there how meny tim can to learn .can you learn it to me with the movi sent it to me.excysme my english isnt good.
Wear pads so that you won't hesitate when you hit. I need to see how the thrusts work. No one is doing it in sparrings. I have yet to see thrusts in actual combat. At the very least I saw some here. Ironically, it is the one that kills in real life but no one is showing it much. Do you have any participant in this year's SEA Games?
Wearing pads takes the sense of danger away. Adding padding will only let them resort to who hits faster without using any of the skills taught but if they were to feel the pain, they will try to think more cautiously when attacking
This tradition is what you called for the american in world war the one swipe don't comeback or the group called head hunters or the bird dancers which is the combination of defense and offense at the same time with a knife or the bolo knife then finished it thank you for this but I guess its missing should be tied their hand too too together but this tactics is been hidden for so long I hope you would not use it for wrong doing and protect your tribe

Hindi gaano na discus ito sa libro kaya nakakalungkot talaga
Sadya tinago eto
Self defence na gawing pagpatay sa kalaban mo eto. Tho arnis is ok tho
arnis is okay pero kung gamit knife or bolo. Masyadong risky. Why? Kali is invent for killing.

Ahahah we were taught the basic of kali during highschool days being hit with a ratan stick is so painful omg
I'm very impressed with all of these people. All are very skilled, yet seem to be very humble towards their opponents.

@@ScarabKing143 It's stuff like this that leads people to try to disrespect/discredit martial arts.
@@ScarabKing143 why you gotta say that bullshit .
