Capture One's decision to join up with you was a no-brainer! I’m really looking forward to your videos on this as I find your style of presenting and explaining so accessible and effective. To infinity and beyond!!
Hi Chris! Glad to see you featuring Capture One. I’ve been using it for two years in parallel with LR/PS but find myself using Capture One more and more. It is certainly a superior raw processor when processing Fujifilm raw files.
I love Capture One and have been using it for a couple of years now. Always something to learn, like adding a favorites tool tab. Can't believe I haven't thought of that! Thank you!
Great video Chris and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. A big thank you to Capture One too for the sensible way in which they treated those of us who used to subscribe to the manufacturer specific versions of Capture One that used to exist - in my case Capture One for Fujifilm. When they scrapped the manufacturer specific versions and moved to just the Pro version, they carried across your subscription agreement from the manufacturer specific versions to pro at no extra cost as long as you did not cancel your subscription and restart it. In my mind that was an honourable and considerate thing to do and it has maintained my loyalty.
YOU are the reason I started using Capture One because you had the same issues using it as I did. Got out of Lightroom and have been very happy. Thank you.
So pleased that my favourite UA-cam educator will be tackling CaptureOne! I have been using it for a couple of years but feel I am not using it to the fullest potential so much looking forward to following your future tutorials.
Great overview video and I’m happy to see Capture One teams up with you. Your original set of Capture One videos was what made me dive into this software and I can’t wait for your future workshop videos on this flexible tool.
Looking forward to seeing the future videos.
Have been a C1 user since purchasing my X-T3 and did watch your previous tutorial ones, but was a little disappointed that you didn't do more of them. So very glad to hear you're going to be doing some more.
Chris, I’m so glad you are taking this project on! I’ve used Capture One, have 22, and yes it’s way easier to use. That said, I think you’re the perfect person to act as a guide through the software. Their tutorials and webinars are great, but they don’t hold my hand enough. So that said, the energy you’ll bring to the community is great and serve as a perfect complement to their current collection of support videos. I’m very much looking forward to the series. ❤
Been using CO ever since I got my X-T3 four years ago. Simply the best. Thanks for this video, Chris. Well done.
Outstanding Tuition! Thanks Chris, cannot wait for further vids! I bought Cap One on your recommendation two years ago upgraded to 22 in March but still need your excellent guidance. Thank you and greetings from Scotland!
So awesome to see Capture One working with you! Your earlier tutorials were essential to get me on the track to edit my photos from my Fuji cameras on Capture One.
Best photo editing software being presented by the best camera educator online :D
Congratulations on the sponsorship. I've found all your Fuji advice very useful since I first bought into their system. It might have been yourself who recommended the Capture One for Fujifilm, which I obtained. After a fair trial I bought the full Pro version and use it all the time. I tend to stick with what I know but I realise there's a lot I've not yet discovered and I'm sure your videos will encourage me to experiment and learn more.
Thank you so much for this extremely informative video! Being a C1 user for years and now just about to switch from v22 (15.2) to v22 (15.3) with major changes your wrap up came in handy. Actually better than the feature videos of C1 itself. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 really looking for more videos on that topic. There's always something new to learn!
Thanks, I got a copy of Capture One 22 lifetime license using your discount yesterday, appreciate it and the massive amount of knowledge I was able to gain b/c of your Fuji-ecosystem videos :)
I started using Capture One after your previous video tutorials on the subject. I love it. I had the Fuji only version, but now with the updates I can edit any raw file which was great for me. It does such a nice job with my DJI drone images. I'm looking forward to your future tutorials. Thanks Chris.
Glad Capture One chose you Chris. Been using C1 since I bought my first Fujifilm camera and really enjoy using it. Looking forward to these videos.
Boy, I'm happy you are picking up the Capture One topic! I've been dragged into it by the free Capture One Express license that came with my X-S10 and recently I decided to upgrade to the Pro license. I have a lot to learn and I am looking forward to your Capture One videos. Please don't ignore the C1 Express, as it still has a lot to offer.
Thanks Chris. I had hoped you’d do more C1 because your explanations are so thorough and clear.
Stoked to see all of your new CO videos !!! Yessss!!!!
Great news, Chris. As a Capture One user and Fuji shooter I look forward to having your usual excellent presentation skills applied to this subject. One thing I would point out is that a workflow that combines sessions and one or more catalogs can be very efficient and should not be overlooked. Thanks for your great work.
Fantastic. I have been putting off learning picture editing- until now. Your explanations are so clear that I am no longer daunted.
Thanks for your Timely feature of C1. I was considering upgrading from Express to pro, and your discount code saved me a chunk of money. I'll be waiting patiently for your tutorials on the subject!
Great that you'll be covering C1 and Fujifilm, a combination I've come to enjoy. Moved from LR to C1 when I bought my X-T3 at launch, and never looked back. Looking forward to your tips and insights.
I’ve dabbled. Now I’ll go all in ! Your instructionals are the best - thank you!
That is great news that you have capture one as a partner.
Looking forward to more videos.
Love your work
Thanks
Great video - looking forward to more C1 vids! 👍🏻
I'm really looking forward for your future tutorial video on C1, just have learned something new like import with token too. I've moved from Lr to C1 for already 3 years, and I really love to use session with customize workspace. Not to mention my favorite tools are layer editing, dehazing and the most favorite tools is Grain setting, really blowing my mind, since I shot a lot of photo on film. I've seen C1 keeping improve their software, especially the new version with HDR Stacking and Panorama Stitching.
Awesome editorial Chris, as I just converted to Capture One Pro from Lightroom, I look forward to more informative videos like this to make my transition less complicated. Thank you.
I'm so excited that you have this partnership with C1. I've been using C1 2021 but was just thinking of moving over to LR because there are so few UA-camrs that use C1 and use Fuji. I just viewed Mark Denney's video as well. You've both convinced me to stay with C1 and I look forward to learning more on how to reap all the benefits of this app.
Look forward to your updated lessons.
I just got a Fujifilm XT-4 and a 15-55mn lens and I just started using capture One your channel is going to be so helpful!
Thanks Lucas!! So awesome to hear!!! 🙏
Love CaptureOne! Great job, go on like this. Waiting for your next contents about C1 🤩
Thanks for this, even though the official capture one videos are extremely informative they do lack a little seasoning/sparkle, plus being an old timer going from film to digital has meant 90% jpeg for me, so your style of presentation suits me perfectly; as a fuji shooter I should have subscribed years ago, looking forward to checking out everything I've missed. Ta-very-glad (It's a Welsh thing)👍
I upgraded to this 22 version just a few days ago. It's great and a little easier to use than previous versions. I purchased the upgrade mainly for the new HDR option to merge multiple bracketed raw files. It's the best photo editing software I've used for Fuji cameras and has brought new life to some of my older Nikon photos.
I am very much looking forward to your lessons with Capture One. I have had Capture One for some years now, and really haven't dove into it much. It's been rather daunting for me, I haven't made much headway with a workflow so I'm kinda just rattling around in it. I absolutely abhor the "subscription" format Adobe has forced upon us and have been trying several of the different options around now. Love your content - all of it, and the enthusiasm you bring to the table.
Great you eventually do C1 video. I have used it for 2 years and I only start to manage it recently. I will follow your videos. I am also a Fuji (X-T3) user. C1 was really a game changer for me, my photos enter in a total different dimension. I don't need to upgrade my camera or get a new lens : the next step for a photographer is a good PC and C1 !
Using Capture One optimally is an intimidating task, but I found it easy to get into the basics. With that said, thank you for this overview of features!
I switched to C1 a few years ago purely because they allowed me to buy a lifetime license instead of forcing me to pay a subscription every month, and as I got used to the program over the next few weeks, I realized how incredibly flexible and powerful it was. There were all sorts of benefits, like the superior handling of noise in Fujifilm raw files, interface customization, file handling, etc. Additionally, I use the tethered shooting for studio work and it's an absolute dream just to have the picture pop up on a giant monitor as soon as the shutter fires. It's great for me to be able to look for little details, and for the person behind the camera to be confident in how the images are coming out so they don't have to "take my word for it." Glad to see they've partnered up with you, your channel is a goldmine for Fujifilm users!
Looking forward to more capture one videos. I switched a while back from LR and don’t regret it at all. Fujifilm files work so well in capture one it’s worth the effort.
I have used Capture One for a few years after coming from Lightroom. I really like Capture One, and I like not having to deal with sidecar files. In the beginning, the most significant selling point for me was the masking feature. I use the catalog feature though I did try sessions; it was easier to learn new software by staying with the catalog format because of LR.
I look forward to your upcoming videos on using C1P; Chris, your attention to detail will make us pro-users of this excellent software editing tool in no time!
Yes!! Masking is awesome and being able to combine w/ adjustment layer, etc. is so helpful!!!
Quality intro to Capture One 22. I have just upgraded from C1 (20) so looking forward to the next tutorials.
Thank you man for sharing this stuff
Capture One is amazing. I used it for years when I was running a web design gallery. I used to spend 1-2 hours each day preparing large screenshot files - until I found Capture One. I cut my time down to 20 minutes with their preset features. I was able to auto-name the files in the sequence of my choice, resize to the correct dimensions, crop and position, and save the files with the click of one button after I set it up for the first time. 💯
Excited to see featuring Capture One
I'm fairly new to photo editing. After using another program, not Photoshop, I recently switched to Capture One. I knew within two hours of my thirty day trial that it was far superior to what I had been using. For a relative rookie I found the learning curve to be fairly flat. It's very easy to use and I'm still learning new features all the time. I'm impressed with how much it has helped me in my journey to improve my editing. I'm excited to see your new tutorials which is something I've been looking for as I find the ones presently on UA-cam to be hit or miss. Thanks.
@user-on8gd3rc3o Affinity. I could never get it to work properly even after getting a newer, more powerful computer. Totally frustrating to use. As an update, I dropped Capture One this last spring as well for Lightroom Classic. C1 worked well but I feel that LRC is much easier to use, is more intuitive, and produces superior results. Maybe I've just gotten better at editing but when I switched I almost immediately saw a dramatic improvement. Others have mentioned it also. The other thing is that there really aren't many tutorials for C1 whereas for LRC there are hundreds, if not thousands, of them from many sources that all have a little different take on editing. I find that I can pick and choose what I like and what I don't.
World class explanation with passion!
thank you Chris for this video. I've been using C1 for 2 years now and I'm very interested in your future videos about importing images, I still struggle to understand the different settings and the best strategy to have. greetings from France
This is great…..you’r THE MAN for teaching us all, thanks!
Yay! I'm looking forward to more C1 videos from you Chris. I use the Fujifilm version (need to switch over to the Pro version but have been lazy about it). I hope one of your upcoming videos will cover noise reduction. I am still struggling to fully understand how to best reduce noise in editing and have yet to find a helpful tutorial. Love your videos!
Hi Vanessa Just upgrade t my Fuji c1 20 to 22 pro When I clicked upgrade in program it show 50% reduction so did the upgrade. Paltec may even work.
Congratulation Chris !
Ehre, wem Ehre gebührt.
I bought the Fuji version C1 21 and have just installed the trial version of 22 and so far like the improvements.
Looking forward to your ongoing C1 series, and actually being able to do proper editing!! Thanks Chris!!
🙏 🙏 🙏
Thank you. I'm Finally convinced to buy Capture One. And the bonus is they have just hit me with a 50% off email. I look forward to the series of tutorials. Thanks again.
Moved to Capture One when I moved to Fuji - mainly due to some sharpening issues in LR. Now I am across no looking back, C1 is a great blend of LR+PS in a high performing non-Adobe package! Also, the export options rock!
THANKS Chris!!
Capture One suggestions:
Catalogues are nice but putting all eggs in one basket bothers me.
Default action could be “new session”. (Preferences)
1. Automatically create session with catalogue: That way, if catalogue becomes corrupt, you haven’t lost everything. Catalogue would be auto-updated when session updates.
OR
2. Add session(s) to catalogue:
Checkbox when creating session. Also add "scan disk for/ import sessions"
2a. Remove session from catalogue (that affair you had in Denver)
3. Find missing session (much like Lightroom) so if you move a folder to another location you can simply point to it.
Bottom line: EVERY folder contains a session DB that can also be read into a catalogue.
Fantastic Chris. Your videos of the previous version of C1 were excellent. I have been using C1 for some time now and it is far superior than Lightroom. It is more professional but the learning curve at first is a bit complex for people coming from Lightroom. I look forward to your videos on this new version.
Freaking aweeeeeesome. Thanks a million times for this introduction.
I've bought C1 22 so this is perfect!
Thanks Chris, another gem!
Hi, I'm eagerly awaiting your videos on Capture One!
I have struggled with Capture One 12 - not so much with the actual editing, but with things like importing files, using sessions (creating, renaming, and moving them), and exporting files. I've now bought Capture One 22, and I'm really hoping the user interface for these has been made easier. I'm sure your explanations will be helpful, on any aspect of Capture One 22!
Wow - Capture one with my Favourite Fuji teacher- the nine realms are finally aligned!
As with many of the comments from your minions, I too have been using C1 since switching to Fujifilm. There is always something new to learn so I'm looking forward to your upcoming tutorials! Just a comment on the sessions vs catalogs, it really messed me up initially. I thought why do sessions? I'm an amateur without clients etc. Sessions ARE the way to go!
Great news Chris!!! I'm so happy CaptureOne contacted you. This software is wonderful and you will help lots of people to understand it and use it the right way.
Thanks Chris!! I have no idea why I've been holding off for so long getting this new version. I feel like the updates are amazing! Looking forward to diving in sometime this week.
👍. This is the first time I really think C1 has finally gone mainstream with the UI, features, etc. The circle, as they say, is COMPLETE.
@@pal2tech Updated to the new version last night, finally! Love it! The style Brushes are amazing for portraits!
It’s been 3 weeks since this video. When will the next one be available? I love the way you teach!
Hi Chris, so glad you are doing these C1 videos. Could you possibly do one that shows the workflow with Photomechanic and C1 sessions? Can’t see this anywhere on UA-cam. Many thanks!
Congratulations on getting some notice from Capture One. I love the program.
I hope this means the Tutorial Series will continue!
Looking forward to your Capture One series!
I use the catalog workflow in Capture One, because I want to store my photos on my NAS only, and not (also) on my PC. I'm not a professional photographer working on client projects, and I don't do photo editing while travelling/on location, so I have no need for the session workflow.
Thank you for the promo code. That was a case of right time and right place. Greetings from GER! (Code is working in EU region)
Great Content, thanks for the discount code
Congratulations on the sponsorship. I am glad they finally integrated Fuji into their system and not have purchase additional software just to get Fuji's to work with C1. tried C1 years go and went back to Adobe. I am not a fan of Adobe however, they priced their products to be competitive. Getting multiple apps for subscription of $24.00 a month from Adobe is a better cost savings than subscribing to a single app for $24.00 a month. I'll jump in a heat beat when C1 starts bundling as Adobe has.
I would love to watch a beginners video for capture one, watching your videos help me a lot with Fuji system too, thanks a lot
I was using C1 from 2004/05 before Lightroom existed then switched to LR 1.0 in 2007. Been there ever since but I know C1 is excellent. I’m just so embedded with LR after 15 yrs
Because of Pal2Tech20 I am going to try Capture One out for real this time. :)
"Sessions" are a great idea. Like any database a catalogue works fine at the beginning but gives you headaches after some years. Now if you have been using Lightroom for years like I have, Capture One can import your catalogue, no problem. But it would take lot of work to reorganise it into sessions. I will use sessions going forward and stick to my old catalogue for my older pictures for now...
Thank goodness Capture One are going to work with you because I gave up trying to use it because their “tutorials” are universally terrible, confused & boring They need you!
Three years with C1 and still happy I switched.
All I used to know was lightroom, but ever since I went fujifilm , I can't believe i wasn't using C1 earlier.
About time….followed your previous tutorials which kind of went by the wayside.
Struggling w C1 on a slow Macbook Pro from 2013 I went back to Lightroom having high hopes and ….wow what a piece of c*p software. Not at all how I remembered it. Now with v 22 and an M1 Macbook Air I find the customization and flexibility to be soooooo superior to LR. I had this idea in my head that the LR workflow was better but boy was I wrong! All this time learning C1 had «unlearned» my old habits and opened my eyes to a different way of working. Now if C1 could handle my large catalogue, everything would be perfect! Maybe I need to start using sessions? Looking forward to your insightful and entertaining series 👍
Chris hello. I am watching your videos for a long long time even though I did not have any fuji camera waiting for the new XH2S which I immediately got. It is my first mirrorless camera and I love it even if I am not video shooter. I also bought a few fuji lenses, the 16mm, the 16-55mm, the 50-150mm and the new 150-600mm. I enjoy every minute shooting mirrorless........It is so much fun. My worry is that I have never done any editing till now, and the only program I have is the Luminar Neo, but I am also undecisive between the Lightroom ΟR the Capture 1 , 22 version.....which seems as your favourate editing tool. ..As I am also new using MacBookPro it is so much new to learn, especially with fuji photos as they are not recognisable.....eg. I can play slideshow with all of my canon or Nikon photos except the fuji ones..........Can you please advise me on that and also tell me if there is still time getting the capture one with the 20% discount? Thank you Chris very much for all the invaluable help
Congratulations on the new sponsorship. I bought CO20 for the click through file selections and (I think 21) for the Nikon curve integration and speed edits. I'm completely satisfied with 21, which works well. However, I'm not getting 22 for improved icons. I'm going to upgrade my version ONLY when they integrate the ability to create custom camera color profiles using X-rite software or similar. Using that feature with Adobe Light Room 6, it was easy to achieve excellent color balance with any camera and keep it consistent from photo to print with many different cameras. Now, the objection would be that there is a way to do that with COone. Well, I tried and it just doesn't work. It makes little difference and it doesn't produce consistent results.
What has happened to your Capture 1 tutorials?
I used Lightroom from it’s beginning but moved in to Capture 1 about six years ago.
I recently took Lightroom off my PC.
You are excellent in your videos and my number one source on all things Fujifilm.
Thanks for all that you do.
How does Capture One work with Astropad Studio?
Also, one thing I’ve really loved about Lightroom for Photoshop is the cloud sync feature and iPad app so I can work on my photos on my ipad. Will Capture One have an ipad and sync capability anytime soon?
Thank you for your introductions. I currently have a monthly subscription with LR & Photoshop combined. The price of CO compares to LR & Photoshop is dearer. Whether CO have the functionalities of Photoshop? I may consider buying their license option but not sure how much they will charge for each upgrade.
Awesome video as always.
Does anyone know what/where that HAL thing he has hanging on the wall is? As in where can I get one? It's awesome
Hey!!! Really appreciate all of your videos! I have used adobe for soooo many years. I just recently switched from a Canon r6 to a Xt5 and am loving the experience!! Is it true that capture one handles the Fuji files better than adobe?
Best teacher for Capture One… impossible. Well done, danish guys.
Great video Chris! Coming from Lightroom I completely agree with everything you have said about C1: it's overwhelming at the beginning but so much more powerful and totally worth to develop a new workflow. BTW: Love the grip that you have mount on your X-T4! Reminds me somehow of the style of the Mamiya Press. :)
Thanks Ute!!!!!
I am new to Capture One so I really appreciate these videos, and all your Fuji videos. One question I have is I haven't found it syncing with my other computer. Work I do on one computer isn't accessible on the other computer and visa versa. What am I doing wrong?
the great news is, I never knew Lightroom, i'm new to photo editing and thanks for encouraging my learning C1
I love this video! I use LR for my wedding photos and C1 for everything else but I've been hoping to move all to C1.
I personally love the sessions options w C1.
I didn't know about the "always hide jpg" option. Super helpful!!! Looking forward to more tutorials!
I am using the Express version for Fujifilm and i think it is a good free version. I may buy it if you convince me 😉
Muchas gracias por el vídeo, hay versión para table Android? Tengo una samsung s8 ultra que para mi me es suficiente soy aficionada,y es con lo que edito gracias
I like Capture One very much! I have used it since the end of 2018. I liken using Capture One in comparison to Lightroom to speaking in German to speaking in Spanish. You communicate with both but the thought process in order to communicate is different. Layers, as a feature, in Capture One is great! The magic brush is a work in progress that continues to improve, though. I will say that my final color of converted Fujifilm Raw Files is far better in Capture One than Lightroom. I also like the ability to select and mask for particular colors in a separate layer. What’s better than that? The ability to soften and refine the mask with a slider-time saver! I also appreciate the ability to be able to use every tool available in the program within a layer. You can’t do that in Lightroom. Do I like Lightroom? I do. I have used Adobe Camera Raw since version 1 and Lightroom since Version 2. Since I am a Fujifilm Camera user, my results are far better with Capture One straight out of either program.
Initially, there was little in terms ofhow-tos and education as to how to work Capture One. Thanks to Capture One (David Grover) as well as Capture One’s ambassadors, their insight has been invaluable! In four years, I have found wonderful improvements and refinements to Capture One. In comparison, Lightroom seems more gradual (dare I say glacial). There have been new features to Lightroom of late.
Capture One has been very different in comparison to Adobe in terms of listening to customers needs and wants when it come to new features. They actually listen! I asked about 3 years ago for better zoom on the viewer. At the time, the viewer only zoomed to 400%. I asked for 800%. Capture One gave 1600%. There was a live Capture One channel UA-cam event where users could chime in on feature requests and rather than wanting new features users requested an iPad version of Capture One. They listened, coded it, and delivered an iPad version of Capture One.
Under this software hood, there are a trove of features. My only request to improve my Capture One workflow is better noise reduction.
Pal 2 Tech thanks for the video! Capture One thank you for sponsoring Pal 2 Tech!
Chris, been meaning to ask you this........PLEASE will you do a series of Capture one 22 tutorial vides for us please? The interface etc has changed and I am confused! Please do give this your consideration. Thank you!, from a long time subscriber!
Capture one is the go-to for Fuji IMO
Capture One is so awesome. It definitely processes details and controlling noise much better than lightroom. Noise doesn't end up looking like there's a lot of worms if you push the sharpening too much.
Would you say it does a better job than the later Imac system's Preview, (say, turning Fuji Raw into a tiff)?
@@sclogse1 sorry I only work on PC
