Friends like Petey make the world go round. I know he's learning some great farming techniques, and we hope he gets the farm he wants. All you guys (and girls) are awesome! God bless!
I have been electrocuted by lightning! I was out fishing in an aluminum boat but the storm was so far away you could barely see it. It’s easy to think it’ll never to you until it happens and affects your health and memory for the rest of your life! Don’t take chances. Edited: For grammar correction.
Perhaps on a day you don't normally film, you could put a static camera in the farm market in a corner somewhere, and just let us watch on speed mode what a day looks like in the farm market. I wouldn't mind seeing that. Thank you for your hard work even in the rain.
Great Q&A session !! I've always wondered about who Pete was !! Now we know ! That's great that your family helps him out and teaches him farm skills !! Awsome!!
Can certainly appreciate what you veggie boys do, when I go shopping when things get expensive will not complain why things get expensive, will just think of how hard all farmers work to give us nice fresh produce in all types of weather. Hello from Australia
I like the Q&A. I think this was the day we stopped by to pick up 6 ears of corn for our family vacation. Sorry we missed you. You had already left to go back to the fields.
Andrew, here in SE Ga we got over 20 inches of rain from Debbie! Pond dams busting, roads blown out, rivers well over flood stage and some people have been flooded out of their homes! It's been a week since the storm hit and it's just now trying to dry out some in places! With the heat and humidity helping! Sending Prayers for ya'll and all the people who've been impacted by Debbie! God Bless!!!
I think I first found Petey with Joel at the stable. Apparently he has a construction job now as well as helping with Joel and the Boys. It's fun when he pops up, he seems like a nice dude.
Im in southeast georgia. We didnt get much wind from debbie but alot of rain. We had areas that got almost 20 inches in 2 days. Had close to 100 road closures in rural parts of the county. Almost all large ponds/lakes flooded with most dams failing and/destroyed. Never seen this much rain ever and over a week later places are still flooded. I feel for farmers as well because its their livelihood at stake. Great video
Love the answering question portion. I know you're super busy and the channel has a lot of subscribers and comments. So it is much appreciated when you have time to read and answer some of them.
I miss seeing the family saying goodbye at the end. Maybe a challenge but I always liked seeing whoever was around. Also love hearing from the other Veggie Boys and Girls occasionally. Pop Pop is always so knowledgeable and informative.
It's a smart farmer who takes advantage of a bit of downtime to take a nap. You guys are usually jumping from one daily project to another. All you needed today was a bar of soap and you could have taken an outdoor shower. Thanks for sharing the day.
Answering questions is really interesting. Most people probably ask the same kind of question. I am glad to find out about your new babies & their health plus Callie who is super sweet. Callie has charmed everyone. Thanks for taking some time out of your busy schedule to answer questions.
Love the Q&A videos. I thought of a question for a future one. If money were no object, what one piece of farming equipment would you guys buy? Or at this point would you rather spend it doing some building projects on the farm? When land adjacent to the farm becomes available for purchase, do you automatically think about buying it or do you guys have all the land you can handle at this point? Love seeing Petey in the videos. It reminds me of when we were growing up (I'm 65 now). People would learn by just hanging around places and picking up new skill sets. Sometimes it seems like apprenticeships are a thing of the past, but being allowed to be somewhere where you are trusted enough to learn new skills is a blessing. Ask any entrepreneur. The kids are growing up so fast. Sometimes it seems like the days are screaming by, you turn around and the next generation are all adults. Your kids are so lucky they have a big family around. You never know how screwed up your family is until you see one that isn't. 😂
It looks like your cornfields handled the storm pretty well. A couple of times we had the remnants of hurricanes make it all the way to our farm in northern New York and absolutely flattened fields of sweet corn we were picking in. That is a huge pain! Definitely, I think it would be great if you did occasional videos of this type where you answer questions and just discuss things about the farm. I know that would be hard though because you are so busy that you usually just film while you are working. And your comment about your favorite Debbie being Little Debbie cracked me up!
We were at the market on Thursday, right at lunch time, picking up pumpkin flowers (thanks Mimi) and lots of other deliciousness. Said hi to you as you were walking over from the greenhouses. Today I battered and fried 5 dozen pumpkin flower's. Told my husband no more until next year! So happy I'm just a few miles away
Oh my gosh, not even 5 minutes into the video and my sides are hurting from laughing. You guys brighten my day. I can totally relate to the rain situation but the way you all play it up and have fun with it is wonderful!! I have a question for your next Q&A - How is your back doing, Andrew?
The question and answer time was very informative. I think when you’re working in the farm market on a Saturday you should film that. I’d like to see what you guys do during that time. Is Lauren ever going to come back to work?
WOW what all you BOY'S do never ceases to amaze me, I still can't believe you hand pick every vegetable (except beans) and to see you all out picking in the weather you have had in your last 2 videos you are all real food hero's. I loved you sitting down with us and answering so many questions and I thank your family for allowing you that time to do that. I do have a question if you don't mind, here in England a British cucumber takes approximately 12 days to grow, can I ask how long do the pickling cucumbers and cucumbers take? It is so good to see the bell peppers this year and it seemed where they are planted wasn't as flooded as other parts of the fields which was nice to see and I hope all of your crops are able to recover quickly and continue to harvest for you for as long as possible. Can I say a huge thank you to Lauren for allowing you the time to edit your videos, no matter what your beautiful family has been through you still put out videos on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays AND she has fed those beautiful babies as well what a true star she is. Love to you all and thank you xxxx
Great episode. I commend you all for being diligent and smart to get as much harvest safely as possible. Sorry about all the fields being pooled up or water running down the rows.
Thanks for taking the time to answer your views questions. I have one for you. With all the rain like today, has your family ever thought of getting water tanks also besides using the creek for watering your crops.
Rainy days are good shop days, if you have your parts in hand. Its a great time to fix all those annoying little things you never get to. Yes, I like the little visit, getting to find out how everything is going for you. I can't believe those babies are six months old already. They will be helping in the fields before you know it. I have got to get better at peppers. My peppers never look like that. Nothing goes to waste if you have chickens or pigs. I've been weeding my beans today, and throwing the weeds over the fence to the chickens. They love that. They've been gobbling them up.
Loved the q & a time would be to either add to the end or something when your not AS busy as normal. We had a rain/ wind storm blow thru our area (in Idaho) late last night, we got enough rain the the pastures were actually wet this morning. Glad to hear Lauren is good. And i can't believe the twins have gotten so big already.
We had a lot of wind and rain in N. C. We had 5 inches. My tomatoes and tree limbs were affected. Love your videos and I love your daughter, she is so cute!
Awful lot of water in the fields. I sure hope the peppers do not get in trouble the way they did last year. I am sure that is on your minds- Broyans Farm is seeing some tomato cracking from excess water. First dry, then wet- but we just take what comes and make the best of it!
I enjoyed your q & a chat, Andrew. We here in southwest Oregon in the rural, are getting hit with intense storms. "A rare event" they are calling it. I'll take the water tho! 😉 Great video. Stay safe all! ❤
You asked for questions. I was curious how you came up with Lily and Ronnie’s names. I know Callie was named after a beautiful flower. Just wondered about the twins. Love your channel. Thanks for taking time to show your day. ❤❤❤
QUESTION for Bryan, with the last couple of years of flooding, would it help any to run the tractor through the rows and trench drainage to help pull off that water quicker? Praying you don't get the mater disease again, this year. I like the Q&A. Let's do one with Bryan, April and Grammy too 😁😁
Salt, pepper and a little olive oil and a few dozen radishes baked in a pan with other veggies are absolutely mouth watering. Even if you do not like fresh radishes to eat, you have to try baking them. I like the story telling. There are always tons of stories one can talk about their farm, their families and food. Grandpa took the cam a few times and he did an awesome job. People just love listening to the older generation (haha). Grammy should offer sandwiches, etc at the farm market so people pull in and get a sandwich and drink. Anything too day old can always be fed to the cows and we've seen them gulp stuff down. Now we wait for the pumpkin harvest!
I went and got a pair of rainpants and a jacket just like they would use on the crab boats and they are great for picking in the rain. The hood is the weakest part but two clothespins clipping it to the peak of my hat solved that problem. Get the pants that have suspenders on them they are way better than the rubber band waists.
Just curious - when you have extra produce do you help supply local food shelves? I volunteer at our food shelf & we so appreciate when farmers & gardeners bring us fresh produce.
To the veggie boys and girls I suppose that was no fun picking out in the rain in the fields and get nice and wet hot showers a nice hot chocolate are marshmallows to go 😋 yummy. And it's good to see everyone is safe from storm Debbie.
Send that rain to the south. It's miserable hot! It's going to be 104 tomorrow. The grass crunches when you walk on it. Send it this way, we will take it.
Too bad you can't send to us in far SW Texas. We are back in extreme drought and our reservoirs are critical. Just wait until the twins start walking, I can guarantee Loren will have her hands full. I was a little older than Callie when my Mother had twins and they have their own language and I swear they know exactly what each other is thinking.
Loved you answering questions. How does Grammy know how many to cook for at lunch. Hard to believe that the twins are nearly six months. You and your family are amazing. Please keep the videos coming.
Thank you so much for the rainy day chat. You work so hard all the time that it was a treat to see you able to stop for a few minutes and fill us in on your sweet family life. And what a great education it is on your channel. It would be lovely to have a farm someday…looking forward to it. Thank you for the great job you do Andrew.
Picking in all that rain is dedication at its finest WELL DONE 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Enjoyed the video AND the questions at the end❤ Pop Pop you are a treasure 😍😍 Love from the UK x
I loved the questions. I wondered about the onion and carrots. Makes since. Your family is amazing. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us.
Hi Andrew! Enjoyed your having time to sit and chat and answer some questions. I have a question. How can I buy an Ochs Farm Market t-Shirt ? I live in Indiana so can't come to your market. Love your videos!
A short interview with each member of the family would really be awesome and interesting. 🚜🌽🫒💫
Just be happy a Cat 3 Hurricane never sat over you for 6 hours! Power was restored at my house after 19 days! Love your channel. You all work hard.
The backbone of America right there 🌟
Laughed at, "get your boots on, let's go!"
I really like the questions being answered.
Sure wish you could send some of that rain my way. We’ve only had 1/2 inch this summer in my area of Phoenix and 90 days of 110 or more.
Thanks for telling us about Petey.
Sounds like the perfect neighbor! Someone who can drive tractor and fix equipment. Extra hand is always needed.
Friends like Petey make the world go round. I know he's learning some great farming techniques, and we hope he gets the farm he wants. All you guys (and girls) are awesome! God bless!
Dad sleeping on top soil was funny 😅
I have been electrocuted by lightning! I was out fishing in an aluminum boat but the storm was so far away you could barely see it. It’s easy to think it’ll never to you until it happens and affects your health and memory for the rest of your life! Don’t take chances.

Customers might not want to be filmed.
Farmers never get a day off. I sure remember those days growing up.
3:15 Matt’s subtle reaction to Andrew’s “Little Debbie” comment lol.
lol yessss
Even with bad weather your videos are the best on UA-cam. Such a great family.😊😊😊😊
You are so kind
Thank you for supporting your local food bank/ pantry system.
Great Q&A session !! I've always wondered about who Pete was !! Now we know ! That's great that your family helps him out and teaches him farm skills !! Awsome!!
I like the sound the cucumbers and peppers make when you pick them and put them in the basket... sound of food
Unbelievable that you guys are out in the weather picking. Unbelievable. Great video. Holy moly.
Loved that you took a few minutes to answer some questions! This was really interesting and helpful!
Thanks for a great episode. Wind, rain and most likely snow don't keep the Ochs from harvesting.
Would enjoy a Grammy episode 👍👍👍
I'm with you John...we need more Grammy!
Can certainly appreciate what you veggie boys do, when I go shopping when things get expensive will not complain why things get expensive, will just think of how hard all farmers work to give us nice fresh produce in all types of weather. Hello from Australia

Thanks! I too wondered about onions and garlic but knew why you didn’t plant carrots!

Lots of water in those fields. Really liked you answering questions.
Loved your questions and answers!
Glad you enjoyed!

The sound of picking vegetables makes me smile
Hello guys. Shoutout to grammy. I cannot believe the twins are 6 months already. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Good show. Thanks for liking Little Debbie's. I was a distributer for 31 years. Old guy from ALABAM.❤😊

GOOD JOB EVERYONE!
Debbie dropped 18 inches on us.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
2nd biggest rain in 41 years for us down here.
Petey needs compensation for his star power he brings to the channel like a celebrity
Lol
Loved the answers to the questions part.
Enjoyed you answering questions, and sharing .
The question and answer time was very informative. I think when you’re working in the farm market on a Saturday you should film that. I’d like to see what you guys do during that time. Is Lauren ever going to come back to work?
8000 candy onions this year and they brought good money at Buffalo auction

You are so sweet to those precious animals!❤
So sorry about the weather 🥹. Just absolutely love seeing the little calves❤️
Great episode. I commend you all for being diligent and smart to get as much harvest safely as possible. Sorry about all the fields being pooled up or water running down the rows.
You Veggie Boys are so brave, but some of those shots were majestic.
Thanks for taking the time to answer your views questions.
I have one for you.
With all the rain like today, has your family ever thought of getting water tanks also besides using the creek for watering your crops.
Love the resilience of your entire family. Your work ethics are to be admired by everyone. Really not a Phillies/Harper fan though. Hello Petey!!!!!
We got high winds in Indiana too, blow over almost everything. Container garden.
Those cucumbers look so good. Much easier to grow up north than Oklahoma.

I liked the Q&A covering some background subjects as much as I like watching you raise and harvest vegetables
I love the questions answered

Totally understand. We went through Debby in Georgia. I was so worried about the garden.
I always love your videos, Andrew; you have such a great family. I'm always learning something. I like the questions and answers too!

Those cucumbers are gorgeous! Zero disease unlike mine.
You asked for questions. I was curious how you came up with Lily and Ronnie’s names. I know Callie was named after a beautiful flower. Just wondered about the twins. Love your channel. Thanks for taking time to show your day. ❤❤❤
So much rain from Beryl and Debby had resulted in the lifting of the drought designation in Virginia.
Enjoyed you answering questions!! Callie, Ronnie and Lily are just adorable!! 💙🩷🩷💙🩷
Even with all the rain the views are amazing. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Loved your Q and A. Thank you so much, Andrew! God bless you and your great family!
Loved the Q&A session. Love to see your beautiful family. I hope no crops were lost due to the heavy rain.

Major Storm was Right. WOWsers! Very Sorry this occurred because GOD knows your Family will figure things out. 👍🙏

I wish we could have taken some of that rain off your hands. SD here - my garden has ONLY had 1.5” of rain since the 1st of JULY!
I enjoyed the questions and answers segment.
My Dad always said the temperatures need to be warm throughout the night to help tomatoes to ripen.
So sorry that Debby hit you guys that hard. Your dad is so positive... love it... he's the spine of that farm😊
Yes to the Q & A!!! I really like your channel. I've been subscribed since 40 thousand subs.
Just curious - when you have extra produce do you help supply local food shelves? I volunteer at our food shelf & we so appreciate when farmers & gardeners bring us fresh produce.

You won't have to rinse off the veggies today !
It was such a good video, I had to watch the intro TWICE! 😊
These tropical storms definitely aren't the easiest to deal with. You guys are so courageous to just go out in that weather.
Loved you answering questions. How does Grammy know how many to cook for at lunch. Hard to believe that the twins are nearly six months. You and your family are amazing. Please keep the videos coming.

How can I buy an Ochs Farm Market t-Shirt ? I live in Indiana so can't come to your market. Love your videos!
I'm from Germany/Berlin and I look all your videos. Amazing work, Amazing Family. I love your videos
Great video, Andrew! Thanks for answering all the questions when you had some down time. Hope things start drying out for your crops.
