I always crack a tear in this episode. So proud of Jimmy and Lloyd is so fucking proud of him. He has taken Jimmy under his wing, like he did with Rip when he was a boy. We all love Rip for his loyalty and love to the ranch and this family, but let's not forget, Lloyd has protected and upheld the life and rules of the ranch for 30 years and helped make Rip into the man he is today. Lloyd is a real one.❤
You heard him,"That horse was bred to buck you off." Stock contractors buy mean horses and breed meaner horses to work in the rodeos. They are valuable and cared for like athletes because they make money.
The horses and bulls that rodeo stock contractors provide for roughstock events are not necessarily mean or ill-tempered. They simply have a genetic predisposition to buck. They even buck when nobody is riding them. Some may have ornery personalities, but others are very sweet natured and even docile. Most of them actually have fun when they get a rider on their backs. To them it’s fun to try to knock the cowboys off.
@@jacobantony9033 Having ridden rough stock events for 8 years I can attest to the truth in that statement. I knew a bucking bull that would stop after the buzzer went off and trot over to the de-rig gate even if the cowboy was still on him. Then he'd look over his shoulder at them as if to say; "It's quitting time dude. I'm hitting the showers."
26:17 They don’t do anything to make the horses buck, Nikki; the horses you see in professional rodeo are bred specifically to have a genetic predisposition to bucking, more than most other horses do. They even buck when nobody is riding them. However, there is what’s known as a flank strap that’s wrapped around their middle (not genitalia, as antirodeo activists claim) to encourage them to start bucking. It’s not pulled tight, though; it’s only as tight as the belt around your waist is, and it can come off fairly easily.
Also, those horses have never been trained to be saddle horses. They are basically wild mustangs. And at 8 seconds a ride, it will take a long time to settle them down even a little.
@@andreww1225 No, that’s what some people think, but they don’t tighten the flank strap to an uncomfortable level. Just tight enough so that it stays on and triggers a reaction.

Horses buck naturally. You don’t have to do anything to them to make them do that. They might pick especially rambunctious horses for shows but it’s not natural for a horse to just let you ride them.
"What do they do to these horses to make them like that?" It's mostly breeding for confirmation and disposition which means they are very strong and tend to want to buck. Along with that, a flank strap is used. The flank strap is just a leather strap with padding on it used as a queue to the horse to buck hard, it's doesn't cause any pain, it's not a torture device like the anti-rodeo crowd likes to say it is. They are taught that when the flank strap is snug, they should be putting in work and when it gets taken off, their job is done. Horses learn by the release of pressure so it's really easy to teach them what you would like them to do. The flank strap is snugged up, their instinct is already to buck so that's what they default to, then the flank strap is released, therefore rewarding the bucking. Rodeo stock are extremely well cared for and half of the points for a run are based on the performance of the animal as well. Can't have good performance if you are not well taken care of and cared for. These are professional athletes as mush as the riders are. 😀 Love your reactions!

If Jimmy is having second thoughts about bronco-busting, he's gonna toss his cookies when he sees what bull riding is all about. (I hate both, just to be clear). Youngest of four children, and only daughter, ALL of us had to take our first deer with a bow. Papa insisted. After the first, we could wield any other 'Tool' capable of doing the job. The 'Blood (Or Heart/Liver) Ritual' varies from culture/People to People, but is also an important tradition that honors the life taken, for the lives that will be sustained. I can't imagine all the people pushing their shopping carts down the grocery store meat aisles, give much thought or consideration about the way those servings of meat were caught, bred, raised, then slaughtered. That's a damned tragedy inandof itself.
The horses you see at rodeos like this are typically bred to buck and go through some training. So it’s mostly just their genetics. From what I have seen and my own personal knowledge, there isn’t any ‘abuse’ involved so don’t worry Nikki! They're pampered like racehorses. And anyone who knows horses knows that you can't force them to buck. A horse in pain will run and try to get a way, not bucking, and then return to where they came from.

Awesome reaction. Jamie loved the ranch growing up. Can you imagine your Dad applying to college and picking your career? Then your job is always doing what your Dad wants you to do. John created Jamie. I know a lot of people don't like him but he's one of my favorites.
That´s my opinion too. I never understood why John hates Jamie. All Jamie wants is John´s approval but Beth and John just keep taking everything away from him and kicking him when he´s down. It´s like John is trying to create his own worst villain.
And that explains Kayce, the exact OPPOSITE. The son that won't ever be dads pet like Jamie. The son that literally ran away to the other side of the planet to get away from the ranch. The son that would do anything BUT what his dad wants him to do. I'm from a big family, I've seen these dynamics.

@@johnscott4196 yeah ur right it isn’t a big revelation at all.. that was the point of their comment.. that it’s baffling people still don’t get it lol
@@johnscott4196 Wasn’t arguing that point at all. But some people do seem to miss the point of this show and see the Duttons as the heroes. They may be the protagonists, but they’re not the heroes of that story. They’re most certainly the villains.
We learn in this episode that John turned Jamie into a lawyer. Young Jamie just wanted to be a rancher like his dad. Jamie became everything John wanted him to become, and his reward is that John resents him for it. He resents him for being what he turned him into. Man John sucks.
You're actually FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR more likely to get head trauma wearing a helmet. Because you wear a helmet during head trauma activities! It's like marriage being the leading cause of divorce lol. You need the helmet because without it you get your head broken, with it you JUST get your head MOSTLY broken. Maybe a little drain bramage instead of brain scrambling. Without a helmet you're also ironically often SAFER because you take fewer risks. The very rare instances I motorcycle without my helmet I'm 1000% more worried and thus more cautious.
12:12 love how the beck brother put his neck peice on properly now after RIP told him his wearing it wrong. shows how they are just wanna be cowboys but dont even know how to dress correctly

Lol and no I won't be spoiling anything BUT I'll repeat saying that there's no reverse, no brakes, only drive and gas pedal. 😳😳😳 these characters will bring out the entire buffet of emotions. While you watch each episode, enjoy the cinematic views. 💯💯💯👍👍👍😍😍😍 Mrs Nikki, invest in tissues and Sir Steve, you have not begun to cuss or be surprised beyond belief. S.O.A. is a show that wowed me and Yellowstone tops it in my opinion. Hopefully if haven't yet, you may look into Justified the tv show. That one has suspense. It may help with the withdrawals of Yellowstone. Have a great day you two, love your channel and reactions ❤❤❤🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️
Talking about the rodeo...yeah you don't really feel it as much when you're young. You just pop right up and head for the fence. I spent the ages of 16-24 riding rodeos all over the south and up in Calgary. Now I feel the effects from those years....I'm 43 (44 in May) and feel like I'm 75. Joints and discs are all kinda messed up popping and cracking every time I move or stand up. I had to retire from ranch work at 40 years old because my body couldn't take it no more. Haven't been happy since.
In this situation an investigation would always be done to check if drowning is the official cause of death. With the show I don't know what the situation would be but if my department did an investigation Walker's prints would be found and with him being released from prison he would be the first suspect.
OMG... you're going to absolutely love how things go...Rip, Jimmy,a long with everything else. You're so close yet so far in your guestimating....it's going to be a pleasure watching you guys take in all the drama and excitement that is Yellowstone...soooo much more to come. Saddle up buckaroos...you're in for a wild ride.
You guys mentioned how great the casting was for young Jamie, and I agree, but I feel like everybody sleeps on Josh Lucas as the young John. He really nailed it. He's got that gravelly Kevin Costner voice down pat. It wasn't the casting I expected on my first watch, but boy am I happy with it.
The writing for the cover-up scene is a little sloppy to me, but that's just my opinion. The reporter would have been autopsied no matter what. She would have bruising to her larynx from Jaimie's hands, lack of water in her lungs (as Nikki stated) and her phone would have pinged at the Dutton Ranch while she was in the back of Jaimie's vehicle. I don't think she would have left it in her car, but maybe - so, i guess that's kind of plausible. Smashing a phone doesn't do anything to the data - they will always be able to retrieve it, even "deleted" messages, videos, and photos.
Yeah as a nurse who worked in forensic medicine, the sheriff would have to wrap it up quickly!!! Any brain dead medical examiner or forensic pathologist would shoot a million holes through the drowning story INSTANTLY!!! They'd have to cremate her after the bullshit autopsy too, so nobody legitimate could do another one, because then of course that would lead to them checking phone records to see who she spoke to last which would be Jamie!!! Yeah essentially they'd have to cover it up & the family would have to accept the cause of death!!!
Id assume they have the local coroner on the payroll but idk. There is only 1 "forensic" crime lab here in Montana. I've heard a lot of stories here growing up where the lab is extremely backed up on cases and push priority and blatant cases to the front. But this is just my personal hear say so could be wrong lol
I now have Yellowstone fever. Hunters have far more respect for animals than those that don't hunt. My family has blooded for far back as it goes. We would take a the blood say a prayer of thanks and wipe the blood on the face.
To answer your question about what they do to make the horse buck is nothing horses naturally don’t anything on their back that’s why riding horses are “broke” or basically trained to not buck.
An excellent forensic pathologist could find actual cause of death but the cost of this would have to be justified by significant evidence of foul play.
I love your content even though I met him yesterday and I've already watched the entire Punisher with you. I wonder why you haven't seen Daredevil yet, you would like it very much
I don’t think Jaime should have hurt the reporter at all, but there’s not one woman one this show that is written as a good, likable or trustworthy person. Not even Lynelle.
@teutonicknight23 not in every town. You know how I know? I live in Mississippi, right next to a college town, and the town over from the college down has like 4 officers and doesn't perform autopsies on every person. I'm not speaking from a point of privilege. I'm being logical. She was killed in the woods next to a river. Likely in an area who doesn't invest very heavily in their law enforcement, therefore, also doesn't have the time or manpower to investigate every death. I'm also not just talking out my rear I was a Criminal Justice major in college with a specialization in Homeland Security, so I have received the same level of education as most higher ranking police, and government agents have.

Thank you! Like yes there are moments where I love them but my distain for all of them.. especially John.. they did a great job at writing this to make you be able to understand them while being able to dislike them, incredible.
The Godfather, Sons of Anarchy etc this isn't a big revelation. The point is there is good and evil in everyone. Perspective is everything.
Can't wait for next episode! ❤
We learn in this episode that John turned Jamie into a lawyer. Young Jamie just wanted to be a rancher like his dad. Jamie became everything John wanted him to become, and his reward is that John resents him for it. He resents him for being what he turned him into.
Man John sucks.
Yep, that is why I always felt bad for Jamie, feck John and Beth.
The actress who played Audrey left the show i heard
Nikki grabbing her shirt, "Are we going to the train station?!" Hilarious!
You guys need to watch Battlestar Galactica. It’s 20 years old this year, but it’s still holds up.
Agree, but it's up to their Patreon
Second favorite show of all time behind Lost. Nikki would bawl her eyes out. But the old man would DEFINITELY make his way onto Steve's Dude Shirt.
@@screamr2d2 Admiral Adama is my hero
@@raymondamador1487 SAME. I would die for that man, and for Eddie, in a heartbeat.
The Dr that does the autopsy will find all wounds old and new. And how do you get head trama wearing a helmet????
You're actually FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR more likely to get head trauma wearing a helmet.
Because you wear a helmet during head trauma activities!
It's like marriage being the leading cause of divorce lol. You need the helmet because without it you get your head broken, with it you JUST get your head MOSTLY broken. Maybe a little drain bramage instead of brain scrambling.
Without a helmet you're also ironically often SAFER because you take fewer risks.
The very rare instances I motorcycle without my helmet I'm 1000% more worried and thus more cautious.
Notice who was NOT wearing a helmet in this episode, JIMMY, ever, doing way more dangerous acts than kayaking.
That reporter was arrogant and stupid to threaten the dutton family then turn her back to Jamie as if he isn’t one of them.
good point
Alright I have watched the you two for that past month. It's about time I sub
12:12 love how the beck brother put his neck peice on properly now after RIP told him his wearing it wrong. shows how they are just wanna be cowboys but dont even know how to dress correctly
Guys I've had this anticipation since the end of your last Yellowstone reaction and yes I've watched every episode too many times to tell you both.
OMG PLEASE WACH THE NEXT ONE SOON LOL
Lloyd uh real one I think he the one who branded Rip
How many times you gotta post the same comment
Man seeing Lloyd be all proud and tear up for Jimmy got me hard. You want jimmy to win so bad. Very underrated character
Jamie is my favorite character. Yes he did something awful just like Rip has, they are both a product of their environment aka John a pos
We don't make horses or bulls buck
Tell that to Mrs Dutton, who blamed Beth for her horse bucking lol
I now have Yellowstone fever.
Hunters have far more respect for animals than those that don't hunt. My family has blooded for far back as it goes. We would take a the blood say a prayer of thanks and wipe the blood on the face.
To answer your question about what they do to make the horse buck is nothing horses naturally don’t anything on their back that’s why riding horses are “broke” or basically trained to not buck.
The Yellowstone prequel series and Tulsa King are good show two maybe one day you guys can check them out.
An excellent forensic pathologist could find actual cause of death but the cost of this would have to be justified by significant evidence of foul play.
I love your content even though I met him yesterday and I've already watched the entire Punisher with you. I wonder why you haven't seen Daredevil yet, you would like it very much
Would Jamie have killed her had she not kept bragging about how she was happy she would be the one to ruin his family?
I don’t think Jaime should have hurt the reporter at all, but there’s not one woman one this show that is written as a good, likable or trustworthy person. Not even Lynelle.
john is a BAD father
I would imagine in a small jurisdiction an autopsy only happens when there is a request due to suspicion or under certain documented circumstances.
I love Jimmy and Loyd's relationship in this one and it only gets better from here. Loyd kinda looks at Jimmy like a son
Montana very rural low resources and technology: An autopsy is not always performed.
Wow, that’s quite elitist.
Montana yes is rural, but it’s also not just podunk, they definitely have the resources for an autopsy.
Yes, ligature marks would form on the corpse and be a clear sign of strangulation.
If they did an autopsy they would show that she was strangled before was placed in the kayak
Let's don't forget Words and blood Is what made this country
there a movie you guys should check out, called "8 seconds".
I love this show. I haven’t watched it in a while I’m glad I get to watch it with Nikki and Steven!
Jamie could have jumped into the river and then told how he was attempting to save her.
I love you two reactions especially the game of thrones series 😫
I would love to see you guys react to 1883 and 1923
Had feeling that brothers was involved 😢
Why didn't John and the kid have an orange vest on like Casey?
Well ................. looks like it runs in the family.
