my fav linux channel. i dont know why, but i kinda always come back to cinnamon because of the widgets. i use weather, moon, radio and some others. now im gonna start with some wms like awesome, qtile or something, you gave me confidence while watching your vids ;)
Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it. Awesome is probably the best wm to start using first. It works out of the box or you can use my configuration file. It comes with a run launcher and a mouse controlled menu for opening apps.
@@linuxmench2118 yeah i checked and still looking for differences between them to really decide which one to learn. im leaning to qtile because i have a little knowledge of python but i dont think it really matters. im just lazy to start from scratch, but isnt that the best way to start? :) i just need to install it and go from there...i can still switch between them ... yeah you are awesome!! i wish you more virews ;)
Thanks again for the positive feedback and kind words, I really appreciate it. Qtile is good too. You could try starting with my configuration for Qtile. I have keybinding for opening a lot of apps in it. Good luck.
very nice post install scripts one of the fastest installs ive seen incluing my own way of installing great job done oh and i started playing with xmonad which is a biiig challenge for me and that is because of haskell mostly. you should consider it its the best twm once you get use to its config files and haskel
Thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it. My scripts are free to download. The command line is in the show notes of every video. A year or two ago, I downloaded xmonad and gave up after five minutes lol. I should probably give it another try one of these days. It's a bit deceiving that my xinitrc file has xmonad in it. I should delete that line so people don't think I'm experienced with xmonad.
thanks kinda been wanting to go back to arch and wanna rice it to look like windows 10 this is very helpfull but i would recomend telling ppl the hotkey to cls is ctrl
You're welcome. In this video, I went from the tty to Awesome to Qtile to i3 to Cinnamon. So, I don't understand what you're referring to, "the hotkey to cls is crtl." Please be more specific. Thanks for contributing.
Oh I see what you’re getting at. When in the tty or terminal, I’m clearing the screen by holding the control key and pressing the letter l. It clears the screen of all the text. But I don’t explain to people how I’m clearing the screen of text. In my my older videos, I used to explain it, but I stopped a while ago. I probably should say how I’m doing it for the benefit of those who are new to Linux, the tty, or the terminal. Thanks for pointing it out, I appreciate it.
@linuxmench2118 Yes, I asked that because I'm currently taking up cyber security as my major, so I'm thinking of switching from EndeavourOS to that if I can all through having WiFi 😅
What is Kali Linux? Kali Linux is an open-source distribution designed for cybersecurity professionals, ethical hackers, and penetration testers. It is Debian-derived and focused on providing over 600 tools for penetration testing and security auditing....it's not a distro for most Linux users.
A long time ago, I tried copying the Cinnamon DE configuration from one computer to another and it didn't work. Perhaps it was my fault. I never tried again because configuring Cinnamon is not really that hard, neither is Firefox. It's more of a nuisance because I'm frequently making new VM's for my videos. Downloading configurations for a window manager is not as complicated as it is for a web browser. I'm not sure if it will work, I never tried it. However, I might be wrong, so I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for mentioning it.

Thanks! have you tried installing kali?
You're welcome. No, I never tried it, but I should. I heard it has lots of security features.

I'll have to take a look at it. Let me know how it goes for you.

@kiwicol9699 yup but I'm pretty sure people still use it as daily usage
Why not have firefox configuration downloaded from the git?
