….yea. that’s why you hire a producer to plan the video you write. to speed up the timeline of the video. a lot of artists think they’re also creative directors but a lot of the time they aren’t and don’t understand other industries.
it’s very common for a (good) video to take a long time to plan an execute if it has an intricate vision. and if you don’t get the permits and it’s a big budget video you’re gonna end up getting someone sued. if you’re signed to a label, they can be the ones liable for that depending on the verbiage of your contract.
moral of this entire story. a good director is nothing without a producer who has their shit together. and artists need to understand that they need to be more than just artists in 2024, they also need to be their own creative directors.
this doesn’t sound like a label is shelving you it sounds like they’re trying to avoid getting sued.

Yes, in most cases that is the way it works. Not saying that isn’t the way it is supposed to work, but in HIS case he has and can plan it all himself and do a damn good job without having a creative director or a producer there. In HIS case, he doesn’t need that much time taken to film a music video that will go viral (clearly seen in his music video “I’m Not Racist” that was shot independently without any help from the label). The point I was trying to make in this video and the point him and his manager were trying to make, is that if something works better the way you do it in a quick manner, then why should you need the label to take longer for something that already works for you?
