The problem that since Mumbai along with Shreesthaan (Thane, a part of the larger Thane district) forms an island (Shatshasti Island), it cannot grow horizontally is not a problem at all. It is a fabricated excuse by the politicians, authority and builder nexus to build skyscrapers, high-rise buildings and coastal roads on expensive Mumbai land and even worse bridges and roads and spiralling interchanges in the ocean(e.g. Bandra-Worli sea link plus coastal road) and on the riverbeds along the rivers+nalas (for e.g. Navi Mumbai coastal road) to make quick and huge money at the expense of destroying nature (and its beauty), of sane living in and of sane development of Mumbai..
Stop building bridges in the ocean (from Bandra to Versova). Stop the desecration of Juhu Seaface with immediate effect. Save the Juhu Seaface, a 7 km long seaface, which is the most visited beach in Sindhusthaan, with immediate effect.
The FSI must be fixed at 1 or less and the height of buildings must be fixed at 98 feet or less both depending on the natural underground water-table level (this will control the population explosion and keep population at the right level/sq km.
Also this will prevent an already worldwide hazardous phenomenon called 'the sick building effect' which is because of zero sunlight penetration on the ground, and which leads to death due to cancer, kidney failure, TB, chronic respiratory disorders amongst others.
Also this will prevent an already worldwide catastrophe i.e. flooding that happens because higher FSI and taller buildings lead to larger underground foundations of those buildings which leads to less space for water both in the rocky aquifers and the soil which leads to a catastrophic rise in the water-table which leads to flooding.
Also this will prevent tripling or quadrupling of electricity bills which happens because tall buildings lead to almost no daylight penetration on the ground or inside the houses or offices which leads to usage of electricity throughout the day for light and air-conditioning which leads to multiple times higher bills. ) .
The island (seperated by the Ulhas river) must be connected to its surrounding cities that are Navi Mumbai, Shreesthaan (Thane), Vasai-Virar by bridges across the river ( bridges already existing and also Trans Harbour Link across Ulhas river's brack waters near Panvel creek) and further by roads (roads already existing) and metros including 'water metros' (not existing) for e.g. as in Surat and Kerala and 'bus metros' (not existing) and 'train metros' (not existing) and 'a/c compartment in local train' (not existing. No need to have an entire a/c local as many commuters can't afford it. For those who can, an a/c compartment or two is sufficient. An entire a/c local runs empty most of the time and hence can't afford to give the frequency of 1 train/3 minutes) within Mumbai and to Shreesthaan (Thane), Kalyan-Dombivli, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Badlapur, Ambernath, Vasai-Virar.
Not by making insane coastal roads (including bridges) in the ocean and on the beaches destroying all the open spaces (beaches) and beautiful (happiness-giving) views (the sea, the horizon, the sky, the sunset) and the underwater flora and fauna (including planktons that light up the sea at night) forming the entire seaface. For e.g. as at the Sabarmati River Front and the Ghats of Ganga and Sharayu river.
The Worli Seaface is gone. Completely desecrated.

Save Juhu Seaface a 7 km long seaface, which is the most visited beach in Sindhusthaan, with immediate effect ) or on the beaches or shore areas or hills/mountains, to obstruct and hinder beautiful views from the beaches or from anywhere inland. There must be unobstructed, unhindered views,as there are now, (except the Bandra-Worli Sea Link plus a new addition now the coastal road which makes ugly the view from Bandra, Mahim, Worli). Also from such beautiful places as beaches, seashores and others, the skyscrapers and/or high-rise buildings must not be visible.

The value of Mumbai's natural resources of aesthetic concern and/or man-made tourist attractions must be conserved by not making man-made structures (including skyscrapers, high-rise buildings, transportation infrastructure ) near it or visible from its location.
People of Maharashtra must go to court and also do an andolan against the gov (Modi gov, Gadkari gov, Fadnavis gov, Shinde gov or Thackeray gov or Gandhi gov or Pawar gov or Kejriwal gov or Akhilesh gov or Mamata gov or any gov) and/or any authority (Ashwini Bhide authority whose husband left his job of an IAS officer and became a first generation prolific entrepreneur) or any builder (Ambani or Adani or Hiranandani or Birla or Tata or L&T or anyone) that plans and permits such purposeful desecration of natural beauty and, with immediate effect, get a permanent ban on desecration of and a permanent law for protection of natural resources of aesthetic concern i.e. natural beauty of our heritage state Maharashtra.
Apart from Delhi NCR, the Mumbai Pune route deserves RRTS the most with the potential to cover the distance in around 100-120 mins... However, the geography of Lonavala in between the 2 cities is a huge challenge for construction of something like RRTS.. Yes. Its shocking how muh punes infrastructure needs arent met. Pune also needs an international airport asap but its been getting dragged for 30+ years
Today I traveled 12km in 28mins for 17.5 Rupees which takes 1hr by Rickshaw at 300. Rupees
The politicians announced pune metro informally even before I was born. Now I am leaving pune for higher studies and phase-1 is still not completed 🤣
You're leaving for higher studies,
People come from other part of India to pune for higher studies 😅
What are you talking bro?????
Some of the Metrol Lines has already been started in PUNE.
Thank you PT for covering my city's main issues. Hope this city has better transport infrastructure that reduces the climate change here.
Pune need 7 metro lines.❤
Love Pune.❤
7 essential lines and probably another 7 potential lines so a total of 14 lines 💀. If the govt is really serious about reducing traffic volume.
Yes....Its Most Important, because metro work is responsible for traffic in Pune in last 4 years....
Totally agreed , Pune ek emerging sehar hai yaha pe metro aa jaani chahiye thi area me jaha specially IT sector hai , Nagpur me metro bahot saare area's me operational ho gayi lekin pune jaha metro jyada demanding hai waha pe sirf kuch area's me hi chal rhi hai
I agree Pune doesn't have efficient public transport hence people are dependent on private vehicles. This is increasing road traffic day by day. Metro will be effective only if end to end connectivity to residential areas and office areas are connected through feeder transport like bus or shared auto to Metro stations. Kolkata and Delhi Metro is very popular as people readily get public transport from their home to nearest Metro stations.
A major traffic issue is caused by auto rickshaws they drive like they own the road, lack of discipline in two wheeler riders and illegal parking
And don't forget bad service of buses

Recently travelled by Pune Metro and loved both the lines, especially the Civil Court Station of Purple Line. Being from Mumbai, it was a wonderful experience travelling in Pune Metro and hopefully all the lines start soon for the benefit of the people of Pune.
I always felt metro is useless until i experienced it in delhi recently, and felt how easier it is to commute travelled places from one end to other.
Agree Pune is decades behind to reach that level, but pune has always found a way to do it, it would be great if our metro gets connected to areas like chakan, atleast 60-70kms of radius from central pune ( shivaji nagar/ pune station) should be covered toward all end
that's when people would start using metro more often,
also as of now we have 1 interchange may be in future if we have multiple it would be more efficient
Most of the Hinjewadi working crowd live in Pimpri, Chinchwad, Rahatni, Kalewadi, Thergaon, Pimple saudagar, Tathwade, Ravet.
Needed interlinking metro from Bhosari to Hinjewadi via dange chowk
thanks for making a detailed video about Pune metro !! I use it 3-4 times a week and its very convinient !! Love from Pune
By the time the metro development has finished, road traffic would have multiplied manifold rendering the metro's objective to reduce congestion useless
Pune is a wonderful city, but we need to have better roads and more public infrastructure as these days all roads are clogged.
Road expansions mostly increase the traffic.
@@RealManasBose traffic toh badegi hi no matter what. Just too many people in our cities. Delhi is prime example. Even with wide roads and one of the most robust metro networks in the world traffic and jams are still a commonplace.
Most importantly, pune needs a green field airport, or else it will lag far behind compared to Hyderabad or Bangalore

Kudos to you for covering this. It was difficult even to get basic info about the progress on this. Successive govts have not been able to bring any pace to this project. It is only last 3-6 months or so, that we can see some progress. Still too less too late, even greater initiative is required by the govt here..
The traffic in Pune is not due to the two wheelers but due to the four wheelers and rickshaws. Pune always had a two wheeler culture.
While Pune should have been given Metro before cities like Jaipur, Lucknow or Nagpur but most important Metro is Bangalore Metro. Bangalore has very serious problem of Infrastructure specifically public transport, road network and power outage. This is important because Bangalore loses the tag of Silicon Valley of India, no other city will replace it, instead it would be a city like London.
Have u seen the congestion and pollution in Lucknow? Jaipur could've been avoided but Lucknow, indore , bhopal, gwalior metro projects r a need for people breathing poison every day and suffering from claustrophobia
what will it be like in London, London was the capital of the greatest empire the world had known, and now commonwealth nations, financial center of the world, banglore not even the capital of india
Pune has the 7th worst traffic and Bangalore 6th Pune is more important cause Pune does not have a ring road and bus system like Bangalore
So glad that you changed the bgm and accepted the change is necessary hence video dekh ke bore nahi hua ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🥂
They should have joined Hadapsar, Magarpatta, kharadi, wagholi and hinjewadi in phase - 1
Till wagholi for sure
This is too little, too late! I am from Pune and can assure you that Metro does not even connect directly to the Airport which is a major faux pa, there are no dedicated parking's near the stations and Pune's remaining greenery is being destroyed for this project but I hope they can make up to this by planting more trees
Well Pune airport is also operated by the Indian Air Force jointly and has the air force station located around the region therefore due to security reasons, if the they try to connect Pune airport with metro I think the drop off point will still be quite far something like 1km to 2kms.
The only parking I could find was in civil court😅.

It’s under construction for past 4 years and government wasted 2 years of covid where they could’ve picked up the pace but no government was concerned about power politics
Indian government should invest in increasing speed of our railways because our railways are very slow...it is putting stress on road transport... pollution is also increasing.... should take concrete steps.

Lots Of Traffic Is There In Pune
🇮🇳🇮🇳💖
The real reason why this metro is very important is that Pune is the first city in the list of top major cities in India which is not a state capital. As it is not a state capital it hasn't got enough funds at the state level and national levels.. The result is poor infrastructure. It's been suffering because of poor planning by state and central governments despite the great potential it has.
Modi government is the first government which has understood the importance of the city and BJP has managed to get metro work going.
