*SORRY, THAT SHOULD BE MALBRANCHE DEVILS, NOT NALFESHNE DEMONS* 8:58
Gasp getting 1 name confused how could you. Lol but good to know
Mistakes happen, man. No worries. 😊
Don’t be so cheap as to use ai art, please you are better than that
This video kicked ass!
And here I just took that as a confirmation that there are similar machines in the Abyss. They just tend to have more slimy and squishy bits…
I like to image that, devils being as lawful as the are, engineer their machines so precisely that any little oversight by the user will cause a catastrophic failure.
Must be the same engineers as BMW
Being lawful they would follow a precise checklist everytime. ❤
Why would they engineer chaotic machinery that can’t perpetuate with a programmed order?
Very well built and dependable but absolutely no room for deviation. Every scratch in the paint and ding on the body makes the mechanics froth with unquenchable rage
Imagine the devilic OSHA
One day someone needs to make a strategy rts game based on the blood wars
I like to imagine infernal war machines lost to the demons are converted into abyssal variants. The carful craftsmanship of the devils substituted by other smaller demons fused into it repeatedly as they wear down, eventually fleshing over completely becoming demon kaiju.
I’ve been wondering about infernal war machines ever since Dammon mentioned them in BG3. These things sound like Mad Max dialed up to eleven.
That is exactly the vibe, but with engines that literally scream.
As a goblin who regularly smokes cigars, I can say with certainty that the bomb-Jockies are batshit nuts.
Some can probably do doughnuts and then jump over a long line of skeletons 🚜
A Beholder with robotic tentacle arms reminds me immediately of the Sentinels from the Matrix movies.
This will be soooo useful for when my current campaign gets to my Hell farmer's backstory! he's left the nine hells because the farming of tortured souls has been industrialized, and he can't compete with the other hell farms and their massive hellmachines.
More demons and devils, please.
I enjoyed listening to you tell of Pale Night awhile ago. This too
They remind me of that train and another vehicle from "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone"
Awesome it’s -7 Fahrenheit here this will phsycosemattically help
I feel your pain, it’s 59 Fahrenheit here 😔
I’ve been waiting for someone to make a video about these for years!
You sound unwell Loremaster. Are you alright? You generous contributions to our continued education in the lore is appreciated, but please take care of yourself
I'm fine thanks.
@@AJPicketta. Good b. Crack a window once and a while. The psuedo would love it, and candles are wax, man (I know light is a cantrip).
I built one powered by pixie tears and celestial fecal matter
It's like Mad Max in Hell! \m/
Loving all the Devil content! Please keep it coming! :)
More to come!
I always wondered what infernal war machines would look like and do.
Had a lot less time the last 2 years to watch. Works been a grind... but still love the stuff i do get to check out. Really wish we could exsplore the idea of magical engines more. For fernus for jammers, the motors for these bad boys. The ideas always rush when i think about artificer tech
great vid but i like the lomger omes better
Ok thanks! Good feedback
This works so perfectly with the campaign I'm running! It's a planescaping death race lol they actually just entered Oinos so I will definitely be adding all sorts of wild siege engines and packs of hordling raiders on spiked hell wheels
Maybe have that beholder brain rigged to the back of a necromantic war barge to shoot eye beams at anyone behind it lol
Hey, will you talk about the chaos ships in the abyss?
I love watching these lore videos but i just came away from finding the Ed Greenwood channel here on youtube, just wanted to spread the word that exists
Da Evil suns are gunna love theses vehicles.
ma borther speed freaks all the way
Oh i would love a full on movie about the hectic chaotic warzone that is the first layer
So after seeing this, this poped into my head:
Little does anyone know, Asmodeus himself stole from a far far off reality a flying war machine of immense size and destructive capabilty which he keeps hidden in Nessus. The great flying war machine is a little ovet a mile long, wedge shaped and can rain down energy beam fire like a hailstorm. Slowly, Asmodeus has had it converted and modified over the eons with other stolen technologies and infernal innovations. The great sky ship looks more infernal in design now. Blackened and twisted. The lord of the nine hells calls the machine the Hell-Razer. Tougher than his infernal tarrasques, equipped with his stolen fusion warheads, capable of lobbing spheres of annihilation and apocalyptic hellfire balls, the Hell-Razer was made for one thing: taking and holding entire worlds.
What it is?
An infernalized, hell modified, devil crewed, star destroyer...
Just homebrewing. 🤷♂️ Idk, somehow it seems fitting that Asmo might steal a starship of somekind. Any kind, really. What with having crap like all the names of the yugoloths, stolen advanced tech from other realities like the fusion warheads and sensors, and has unknown hidden STUFF of his in Nessus... one can only wonder what else he has, just in the war machine department... 😬😬😱☠️
Idk. Maybe its a huge stretch. But really fun to think about.
What are some other war machines you guys think Asmodeus and the Nine Hells might have? 👀😳
I dunno but *one* of them has to have a demon wearing another demon's skinned and tanned face as a mask, absolutely *shredding* on a flame-throwing electric guitar as the monstrosity roars across the plains of Avernus.
I played artificer class and decided to create infernal war machine.
The tip of the machine is shaped like a spear with the strongest metal and powerful spells engraved on arcoss the machine.
It is powered with the strongest elemental stones.
The rest of the war machine is covered with spikes pointed to the back with dragon heads impaled and used as spirits warrors.
So basically, the war machine will drive right throught the enemy defenses and will summon dragons spirits to kill the remaining enemy.
(F.Y.I we were playing beyond level 20 and our party is working for Asmodeus to kill every devil ploting rebellion.
this thing is metal as hell and should be on an album cover
Great work.. Love it
Nelfeshnee devils? I thought those were fairly high powered demons
Oops! Yep, you are correct. Ha ha, oh I am never going to live that down.
@@AJPickett I mean, I absolutely will be including chop shop demons in my worlds now lol. Hezrou goons who harvest demons and devil parts to “gift” the useful bits to Cybriex or mebbe Night Hags? Nelfeshnee bosses breaking infernal iron wards to repurpose war machines? Lotta possibilities!
@hunterdelta1585 look up the stitched devils from 3.5e. Night hags taking parts of devils to make a kind of devil-flesh golem
If i had caught this, I'd be like, I found a lore error on the Mighty Gluestick, I can die now.
So... Tabletop skirmish game in the vein of Gaslands, but all hellish warmachines...
Beavis and Butthead are the ‘ghosts’ in the machine.
the Baha 100 plane race with infernal buggies
Well now I want a Mad Max style adventure in the wastes of hell, eeking out a meager survival between the legions of Asmodeus and the hordes of the abyss
Warhammer 40k has the best demonic machines, but the Chaos Dwarves make some scary stuff in Warhammer Fantasy… their tech is also pretty terrifying.
Agreed... next pick would be Orc war machine made out of Dark Eldar Scraps
@@AJPickett That’s.. genius. Also, it already comes in purple so it’s naturally +5 stealth.
Don't forget more dakka, more good
Bless the Mighty GlueStick
These are nothing. You expect this sort of thing from devils and demons.
What really scares me is the war engine of the War Druid. The whole thing was grown. It’s a giant, four-legged treant, bristling with weapons manned by leshies and other small fae creatures. You can hear it coming from quite a distance, as it knocks aside anything in its path. I watched it flatten a city once. It was horrific.
And then there were the saddles. I don’t mind saying that I traded for one of them, making myself an enemy of the city-builders. My wolf runs faster than any I have ever seen because of it and the fog cloud it can be commanded to make has been more than helpful in my travels. And if you think being able to plane shift didn’t come in handy, you are a fool.
The fae war machines definitely scare me more than the devilish or demonic ones do.
would karlach technically be considered an infernal cyborg? given zariel had her heart replaced with a shotty/faulty infernal engine
Yes
Machines, yet with posession it is quite easy to see some of them develop caracter on itself, from the angry warsteed bike over the sentient hellish cannon offering a quick solution to your siege problem (with strings attratched) to the players realising the dungeon is a gigantic sentient war machine out to take over hell skynet style. Saving hell from the machine, now that would be a fun quest idea.
well, warmashines are powerful, but have one huge downside: they consume soulcoins like crazy, and you never have enough soulcoins to feel too safe. any sort of sentient mashine will quickly found out itself with fuel deficit (which was previously solved somehow by crew of this warmachine, but it is much harder to make bisiness when you are piece of valuable property without owner in sight), which it will need to solve by stealing fuel from any possible source. so, less like Skynet, more like predatorial warmachine hunting any mechanical prey it finds and sometimes even raiding infernal outposts and workshops for parts. mechanical apex predator of the wasteland....
These things reminds me of a hell-bent version of the juggernaut golems of first edition.
I always thought of those things as nothing but terrifying. A living building on big stone rollers coming after you. Eeesh, that's scary.
Missed this one for the pneumonia that cost me my appetite for a while. Glad I saved it for now, it's a chewy little treat!
Awesome video, AJ, as always. So I can run a campaign with a mortal engines theme?
Yes you can! (Open a huge gate to Gehenna and gate in a massive Walking Fortress loaded with Yugoloths and Barghest warlords!
Doom Slayer: That's not a challenge for me! (Boom!!!) Is there more? Me: Really I already wiped out ten legions of these pains in the rear!!! You: What? How? When? Why? What???
rouge infernal beholder cyborg plot hook in coming?
So a hellish eldritch cycloptic cyborg transformer boss battle?
It would just be a "normal" beholder boss fight but with added bonus of Infernal shenanigans also him being a cyborg @@Dualbladedscorpion7737
....Damn I need to look into Descent Into Avernus after all.
I'm normally a bigger fan of the 'Event Horizon' treatment of Lower Planes than the "Amped up Mordor" style, but...well, Warhammer 40k proves you can have both at once. It's just been too long since I saw such a compelling example of how.
The first thing the title made me think of was the Hellfire Engine, from back when Hellfire used to laugh at the normal mechanics of the game. *One* of those was the kind of rolling horror show that could burn entire kingdoms to ash, and by the standards given here *they were the least of what the Hells had waiting* .
I blame Mephistopholes nonetheless. This has his inventive hand all over it.
hellfire engines are still in 5e. like, basic monster manual. I think these are a joint venture of mephisto and bel's current job of arms production coz zariel.
I love old heads like you. Guys like you make learning this stuff such fun.
When d&d crosses over wiþ 40k
Nice þorn.
What a fun, rocking way to start my weekend-this video was.
How does one light up a cigar in Cania? xD
On a second thought, i'd rather not know that...
I think of Ghost Rider's bike
This is really reminding me of warhammer now which im all for i love daemon engines and seeing something similar is awsome in dnd
would strongly suggest using daemon engine minis for these and hellfire engines.
could probably use a maulerfiend for a demongrinder. I'm much less familiar with 40k armaments. I was looking at some coz I know absolutely heck all about minis but that's all beside the point.
can you imagine running an infernal war machine with a spelljamming helm like it's a heldrake that the party tames?
@@ohmygoditisspider7953 a ton of daemon engines will can use titan weapons or autocannons but can also use things such as a baleflamer which as the name suggests is a flamethrower that is inside the mouth of a heldrake. A lot daemon engines also have claws, mouths, or tentacles. A favorite of mine is one of khornes daemon engines which just spews out boiling blood from killed victims
This is what goblin shaman work on between campaigns in my games.
Well that was very interesting and educational I for one have never wanted to adventure in that place I just wanted to stay the Hell away from there😊. But it is excellent to watch videos about the Hells or the abyss thank you and have a good evening👍.
I can see Asmodeus letting Bel test drive them but at some point I feel like they are gonna stop using the ONE commodity they do everything for, souls.
Maybe if they acquired souls as frequently as demons, but I see the ratio of souls gained vs spent like Bidens economy.
@@VengefulJarlyeah. I can see this additional use and acquiring of souls revealing a hidden sink like Biden’s economy does. Despite all the numbers going up, people getting paid more, there being more jobs and industry than there has been in years, the hoarding of souls by the arch devils all gunning for the impossible top makes it so us imps always feel behind.
minion from twisted metal 2 drives a infernal apc tank
We rented 1 during an Avernes campaign. We called it the "ham-vee".
Life’s been crazy, but now I have like 8 months of videos to catch up on. Time to start binging the deeply nerdy.
Hell yeah
I love anything about the Hells or the Abyss! Great video!
Nalfeshnee? The demons?
Yes, I got that very wrong, lol, malebranche devils is what I meant.
gah!
please make a video about the astral plane
Love all the videos about the outer planes. Especially the lower planes.
I'm imagining a moving battle scene with the party being chased by a bunch of demons on these. . . Have a demon who's only job is to play guitar😂❤
is there any other kind of war machine? (being facetious thanks for the video AJ)
dont know if it's still a thing but ..... I'm first ...to like...haha!
I love candle keep vids THANKS SO MUCH AJ!
How about an infernal mech that uses angel flesh grafted to hellish black iron? Could be piloted by a high ranked imp, tasked with fighting the tougher demons
I like it.
@@AJPickett ever the nose to the grind wheel AJ. Always stay nerdy
Ooohh.. I'm looking to spice up my tyranny of dragons campaign and I think this will do nicely 😈
🛴😈😃!
Great video AJ
Thank you Chris!
Rat fink doom grinders. Groovy!
First Comment! Thanks, AJ. I love everything you do! Mostly
This is one area GW may have better lore than D&D. Particularly in 40k. Then again the forces of chaos particularly due to the forth legion have demon mecha dragons……. That’s kinda hard to compete with…….
How about an Biblically correct angel mech where all of the individual eyes of the construct are Beholders and each set of the multitude of wings comes from a different ancient metallic dragon bearing the interlocking and rotating rings of mithril, adamantine, and mercurial silver through the air?
@@Tusitala1967 na for me that evangalion stuff is just weird. More over I’m not a fan of mishmashed creatures.
@@Tusitala1967 if you're going to babble about "biblically correct", you should remember that in actual Bible ophanim (wheels) are literally wheels of the godly chariot
ICE or EV?
+1 Evil Vehicle
Hey AJ it's been a long time since I have last seen a video but this was a great video to catch and I have a lot of videos to watch to catch me up on everything that has happened
what about a infernal m1 abrams battle tank or a infernal m109 paladin artillery
been watching your vids to learn all the lore for dnd, hopefully looking to play my 1st campaign this year. any tips for finding groups in nz? havent had any luck so far
Make one, put a notice up at your local community center and start your own gaming group.
Badass AJ,what book is that with all the Infernal Machines types?
Descent into Avernus (some sort of special edition or concept art book?)
@@AJPickett Thankyou sir,you are both a scholar and a gentleman. Quite handsome also.
Can you do a video on hordelings?
I have a video on them
@@AJPickettI can't find it like at all
That info must be in the Complete Guide to Hades video, sorry about that.@@muffincrew9618
Nalfeshnee are type 4 demons, not devils.
Correct
Thanks AJ. You did a great job, you sound a bit heavy in the throat and nose. Look after yourself.
Do the angels have war machines? I wouldn't think so but maybe they would build some to battle machines to compete with the devil's but the angles have great war beast like hollyphants and unicorns so maybe they don't need war machines.🤔
Yeah, the Celestials just animate a forest and march it right at you.
@@AJPickettYou’re thinking of the fey…
Iron golem with shoulder mounted mage rods that fire Flame Arrows doing 4d6dmg.
WotC 3e D&D/Star Wars,
8th-level wizard cast 4th-level spell Lesser Planar Calling and summons an 8d8 outsider, which can be a Star Wars battle droid.
Thunder Cats, Thunder Tank which front looks like a cat's mouth and clawed forelimbs.
Transformers, ..
2.) WotC 3e Manual of the Planes, prestige class Planes Shifter.
At level they can Planar Swap a 1,000ft radius sphere from one plane into another once a week.
So they can Shift a spell jammer fleet or a 300meter Star Wars ship with back up landing craft and star fighters.
My former gaming shops after the Prequals were release with WotC, we just had the Gith and mind flayers have access to Star Wars level of technology.
Decent has them but where are they getting the souls coins lol
Aye first
Hell yeah
