Just finished a run of two Bruce Banner Autos, holy shit, anyone says Autos are not as strong, well for the first time I had everything dialed in like you taught us, I wish you could see the buds, and the dry weight was my best ever, however I have never cared about amount, I care about quality…..thank you so much, wish I could ask you questions but I’m a pensioner with little money, because I put ten grand into lights, tents, two of each for both tents, I feel so fortunate to keep going, so many I know try it and they quit because it was not successful, well it took me two years of lots of mistakes, then I fund you….again thank you so much, your the Boss…🇨🇦

I've never weighed wet herb, never saw the point. I like to grow autos because I can do a perpetual grow using one tent. Right now I am flowering my left over clones and one of the mother plants but I am going to be starting a new run of autos next. I grow autos in 10 gallon pots using coco coir/perlite and I let my plants dry up really good before watering. I have been growing autos for about 20 years, about 10 years ago I tried lst and leaf tucking, my yield per plant more than doubled. My average yield now is 7oz per plant, largest so far has been 13oz. Good video.

The reason I am growing autos is to hone my skills. As a new grower I wanted the most difficult learning curve. I believe me learning how to mitigate problems in autos in a timely manner will translate into superior skills with photoperiods. And as a bonus I get to go through grow's faster and should get the knowledge I am looking for faster.

Here is my number one reason for growing autos.
In my tent right now I have a headband autoflower in late flower, ready to be harvested tomorrow. I have a strawberry cheese that just entered flower, and finally I have a CBD Harlequin that just popped a couple days ago.
By the time the strawberry cheese is in late flower, I will pop a new plant. Thus I have a harvest every month. I have also found that having only a single plant in flower allows that plant to grow BIG...

I prefer photos. When I find a pheno I like. I can keep it as long as I wish. I have a cultivar that I've kept for almost 4 years now because it hits the spot. I've mastered its particular grow style and I can bulk it and train it until I'm happy to go into flower. I found another I've enjoyed for almost 2 years. I'm not trashing autos. I just prefer my options with photos. Happy growing. Great video.

This enables me to have a continuous grow in a sense either in or out of the house. Seems to work for me. It's great finally of being off of hydrocodone since my spine surgery in 2019. I grew an auto (Lemon Diesel) outside this past summer. It was the first time I ever grew weed. My buddy brought it over in a 3 gal fabric pot as a seedling. He told me to water it every other day & that he'd stop by in a month to feed it. He never stopped by to feed it so I use some of my dry "organic" nutrients, bone meal, & Epsom salt that I used in my vegetable garden. It got neglected when I went out of town for 2 weeks. Before I left to go out of town again I cut it down & hung it in the garage for 2 weeks. Trimmed it when I got home & put it in some jars & burped them daily. Ended up with an once and a half. Hopefully I'll be starting my first indoor grow this weekend as long as my lazy buddy brings over the clones he has for me.

Also less chance of hermie from light leaks, I haven’t had problems with that since growing autos

It all comes down to how you grow your autoflower, and the quality of your seeds. You have to get your plant strong right from the gate. I live in the NE and grow inside..summer sucks. I've got 4 strains going in a 10×10 grow tent as well as running a few jack herer autos and glue Gelato autos outside in 5 gallon fabric pots.so far the jack herer autos are all growing nicely!!! I'm using a 70/30 mix of coco coir(fox farms bush doctor coco loko)and perlite along with all of advanced nutrients coco line(sensi grow coco A&B, sensi bloom coco A&B, big bud coco) and the other recommended nutes from advanced nutrients as well. another good reason for autos is getting a perpetual yield in a single, small-ish tent. i've grown one, waited 3-4 weeks, planted another, rinse repeat. it can get a bit out of hand though since you never know for sure, especially with a new strain, how big they're going to get, and i've been surprised by one or more at the same time getting as tall as i am and trying to take up the whole space. i've had a HELLA overgrown tent before... but it worked itself out :) or i've run an auto just to fill space in my veg tent while my clones got bigger - in fact i'm doing that right now

It’s all about having the right conditions man. Keep the temperatures in the 70s and keep the humidity between 45% and 55% during the vegetative stage. Make sure you have airflow. Keep the light distance where it’s supposed to be. And pay attention to what you’re giving your plants. I mean that’s in a nutshell what I would do. Heck that is what I’m doing.

Have you tried auto flowers outdoors?

  • @jimmccarville5152
    @jimmccarville5152 5 місяців тому

I live in Southern California so outdoor grow is what I've been doing for 12 years and last year 2023 I had a really bad die off at week 6 and 7 of the flowering stage (Photo period) and had to harvest early due to them just dying off and wanted to at least save the ones that had the issue. I grow in a hoop-house so bugs aren't really an issue but something was attacking them but for the life of me I never found the issue. Had a couple growing buddies come by and look to see if they could find something and couldn't. The roots were fine, nice a bright, no necrosis at the main stem, and no aphids, spider mites, and grow only organically. So since this had happen and my harvest was only about two pounds and I use most of it for RSO, Balms, and edibles I needed to replace some of what was lost through growing auto flowers. I've never grown auto's before and decided to give it a try. Well they started flowering at only 6 to 8 inches and have no Idea why. Lights on for 18 hours a day, didn't over water or under water, use the same nutrients I use on my photo period girls and they look healthy but very small with respect to flowering. Not sure if this is supposed to do this but not sure if I'm even going to get an ounce from two of them. Anyway are there any other tricks you can add for outdoor growing autos?

Rock on… Enjoyed this video :-)
I enjoy auto flowers why? For some reason I cannot explain I just really like the small plants and the smells are sometimes not as strong as Photos, which is easier to get away with growing in an apartment that you’re not supposed to lol lol lol
and finishing time definitely different on the genetics the candy Kush compared to the critical purple the candy Kush auto way shorter plant 1 foot tall giant massive buds… it put out exactly 5 massive colas,She was growing in Coco loco Pete Maas little extra perlite and bottled nutrients… finished in exactly 3 months from seed… A little less than what they said she would finish at… but she was outside… I finished her off in my grow box… when we had a tornado come through I had to bring the little plant to my apartment throw her in my newly purchased grow box…
because the greenhouse that was in my mom and dad‘s backyard is no longer usable I’m surprised my three auto flowers I had left were not damaged…
because that building was destroyed… anyway the candy Kush her smell was what I call Pepperish, very earthy, and extremely sweet smelling she wasn’t a very heavy smelling auto flower until you broke up the buds…
and she had such a beautiful like candy smell and taste I have more seeds definitely going to run them again this year…
The critical purple, started her off November last year, and she’s still growing and packing on but wait, her smell for me at first started smelling like diesel and axle grease, now she has even a heavier stink, smell of horse shit, and earth, when you pinch a nice size buds she has a real nice heavy earth tone and a fruit undertone… I have to constantly spray every morning because it smells like a horse took a big shit in my living room… lol lol
Day and night she is packing on weight…
I noticed with her I watered one time through veg, she didn’t need it she didn’t ask for it especially when I used my dipstick…
the pot was heavy, when she swapped over started throwing flowers…
I am now watering and feeding every four days or so after third day definitely checking with the dipstick… she is growing in the same mixture of Coco loco bushmaster Pete Maas little extra perlite and A few different changes to my recipe extreme gardening mycorrhiza and down to earth products I got is in the critical purples growing media…The media is in a plastic growing container specially made for trees, it is exactly 4 1/2 gallons…
She exploded when that mycorrhiza grabbed a hold…And with the down to Earth dry organic amendments I got I’m using no bottled nutrients… Only organic tea I make with the product…
finishing time I have no idea? she still rocking and rolling… She definitely went past her seed to harvest time that’s for sure…
I sent you photographs in discord after figuring it out lol
I don’t know if you seen them or not but she’s a damn good looking plant I was told… and my friends, cannot believe I am growing a beautiful plant being completely 100% blind… even people at the dispensary that I am friends with, I showed them photographs of her and a few of them, are jealous because they do not have the green thumb… lolAnyway sorry for rambling on so long have a great day Mr. and Mrs. 420 Sceen happy growing peace from your friend in Oklahoma blind gardener Raymond…

About the overwatering! Does that apply to coco? I like to let my plants dry out before watering. Everyone keeps saying letting the get to fry “kill the microbes”. What’s your opinion on coco watering?

@@420scene in my experience autos take 8-12 weeks to harvest from seed. Photos take 8-12 weeks in flower before harvest. You also need the 21 days seedling and then another 4 weeks veg, so for me autos are faster. Saying that I've never had a auto reach over 1m tall. All usually stop at around 2feet.

3 gallon is okay if your using hydroton and dripper method but i guess this channel is all about organics...fabric pots are good too for air pruning the roots/prevent root circling. OG kush autoflower (whitelabel) grows 80cm-180cm and has extended flower of 60-70 days, recommend it but you need a 220cm high tent or train the main cola later on.

I am Northeast and I run autos as well as photos. The autos come in while the weather is optimal. The photos come in when it is the worst time for bud rot. I like the autos because it allows me to sample strains before committing to a whole summer for something i may not like. .I can do a run of 20 different strains in 3 months and not take up a ton of space doing it. Can't do that with photos.
If I like something, it gets added to my photo list for the next season.

Do the colors of the stems matter? cause as the plant grows stems change color. what does that indicate. i know sometimes leaves that might change color indicate it might be absoring nutrients and you would cut them to get a more potient plant. but what about the stems ?

If your growing outside there's a chance you might have a streetlight or motion detector light or even a neighbors garage light or porch light that might interfere with a photoperiod plants night darkness requirements during flower. Autos aren't affected by these light interruptions.

Alright boys, finished my 1st grow. Long comment disclaimer. Maybe this adds to the convo.
Got auto seeds from a seed bank in long island. Literally picked a strain because it was named after my wife's favorite movie (5th element). Started the seeds in a seed tray with tomatos and peppers. 3 weeks in, learn this was a mistake. Peppers and tomatoes can not handle that much light. The weed took off, had to transplant everything into 4" nursery pots. These plants were going in my yard but we had a real cold spring here in NYC so they spent about 6 weeks in the tent with the rest of my plants. Mid May I got em outside into 5 gal fabric pot. They took off, but so did a bunch of trees near me. By July these plants were 5' tall and getting about 5 hours of direct sunlight a day. (And none in bad weather). If the sun goes east to west, I had these plants north and south. The north plant blocked the south plant. The south plant stretched to over 6' and had almost no bottom foliage. The 3rd plant that was off on its own maybe got a little more light. None were ready to harvest until mid September (maybe I didn't get what I paid for?). Did 0 pruning and 0 training. They actually just looked really cool in my garden. Dried for 10 day, that's when the stems would snap. Dry weight a little over 6oz between 2 plants. 3rd plant (the south 1) I have an extra 2 weeks and is drying now. Shitty buds but might make for good butter. So 3 plants total. All grew differently.
I had given 1 start to my dad and his grew as big as a Christmas tree. Learned alot, upgraded my 2x2 tent for an indoor grow now. Cheers
