I can't stop crying each time I listen to this song Thanks so much Father Osita. One love Enugu one love Igbo land one love Nigeria. Respect from Canada.
My immediate elder brother died on 9th March 2023 and was buried on March 31st 2023. He introduced me to this song...Inrmember him playing itbjnbhai csr when he picked me up at Heathrow Airport the first time I left the shores of Nigeria. This song reminds me of the good memories we had..Rest in Power Chuzy... Ije Awele. Thisbl has to be one of Chief Osita Osdebe's best songs....
On June 12, 2016, I took my wife and two sons on a pilgrimage of sort to Atani. There in his estate, I payed my respect, at his graveside, to the Highlife Maestro, All-time King of African Highlife, Osankwa, Eze omenyili Na Atani, the Late Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe. What a memorable day!
Thanks a billion for posting this "Ije Awele" deep and inspiring life realities philosophical, narrative song by highly distinguished Stephen Osita Osadebe! I will ever remain so grateful to Osadebe. It's sad we no longer have him on this dying earth. But thank GOD Osadebe played his part gloriously and humanely on this trying journey of a stage called life ...
This track reminds me of Bus Journeys (Ekene Dili Chukwu) from Enugu to Lagos in the late 70s & 80s. At every stop en route (9th Mile, Oji River, Niger Head Bridge & Ore) this will be blaring out loud on giant speakers whilst washing down Ọkpa and Mazi Ejidike/Our Lady's bread with Fanta!
May all the igbo hustlers scattered all over the world make it back home wealthy and safely one day ,... Love from south africa

He that comes must go, there is an end to everything.
I made a tradition of listening to this every time I take a road trip. Started the tradition in 2014 and have never missed.
Ije Awele, listening with tears in my eyes because there is no place like home. May God take us back safely home.
