Experimenting with MrTieDye ~ Discharging Tie Dye Pants OWB & Re Dyeing them

- In this video, I demonstrate how to use OWB to Discharge a Tie-dye Pair of Pants and then I did an Ice Dye to Re Dye them with Purple. I tied with Sinew to keep some of the old color.... this can Las be done when you 'mess up' a tee ... no need to start over, use some of the colors and just add to them.

That was super cool Carl, nice re-do! I had an absolute blast making my first pair a cpl weeks ago ;) I appreciated your feedback on them! I didn't have White Bright, all I had was pool chlorine in one of those yellow jugs,hehe. Worked great, not sure how wonderful it was for the fabric, but it seems to be fine. So what colors did you recently putting them in from the video start the Experimental Discharging Tie Tie tee.
I just used the three shades of purple that I mentioned in the video ... Plum, Ultra Violet and Blue Violet

Can you please say “ how” you wash them in machine, after you rinse them out? Do you use Synthrapol or anything special?
Thank you ✌🏻🙏 As for the washing after batching them, to start with, while they are still tied up, I rinse in cold water in the sink to start with, this is to rinse away the soda ash which is what activates the dyes ... after a minute or so, I turn the water up to warm and remove the ties/bands and continue to rinse... once the water starts to run semi clear, then I toss them in the washer >>>>>> WHICH, I have pre filled half way with HOT water and Synthrapol (I use more Synthrapol in the first wash since that is where most of the un-bonded dyes comes out) ... I continue to rinse the rest of my tees or tapestries in the same fashion and toss each one in the washer, and I make sure to submerge it in the water, I continue until all are rinsed and in the washer, then I fill the rest of the way and run a short load... maybe 10-15 minutes... and I add a little more Synthrapol if there are no suds on tops of the water .... once this first load is done, then I do two more LONG soak cycles in hot water and Synthrapol ( I use less in these two washes since there is less un-bonded dyes to deal with) .... toward the end of the third wash, I check the color of the water, if it still have a lot of color in it, I will do one more wash, if it is mostly clear, then I let it go into the rinse and spin cycle, then into the dryer (or, some dyers prefer to hang their tees to dry) ...

I recently out white brited a jumpsuit. All the color came out except the hot hibiscus. That turned a baby poop green/ sage color.. can I redo the out white Brite or should I just dye over it with darker colors?
you can try, but my experience with OWB is once it is done, it is done .... so I would re dye a darker color .... BUT, one possible other option is to see what bleach does to it.... OWB and Bleach work differently ... I have had a brand of tee (black) that goes almost white when I bleach it, but I tried OWB, and it barely turned some of it grey ..... so, bleach may help remove more color, but make sure you dilute it and make sure to neutralize when you are done or you could end up with holes ..... but, personally, I would just re dye it a darker color ✌🏻
I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm afraid that bleaching it (it's a very thin cotton) will put holes in it even after I use peroxide to neutralize the bleach.
