I have jeans of a similar colour with rips at the knee. Is there a way to dye them with more pastel colors rather than super bright and vivid? And would the colors fade over time and over multiple washes?
Hi and thank you for your question. So to do more pastel colors all you need to do is dilute your dye some. For instance for a 4oz bottle instant of putting a teaspoon of dye you would put a half or a quarter teaspoon dye powder. As far as fading that’s all depends on the dye itself that you use and if you allow your jeans to sit for the 24-48 recommended hours before opening. If you follow all instructions correctly you should get multiple years with beautiful colors out of your jeans. Hope this helps😊💜
Yay!!! I’m so happy you seen it. Thank you for the awesome suggestion and I’m excited to do it for you! Congratulations again my friend and your geode tapestry will be uploaded sometime next week 😊💜
Would this work to just dye, but not tie dye? I.e. I have black jeans. I want to dye half of them red. Is it the same process minus the tying it for design?
That yellow placement is qute unfortunate xD. Besides that, cool idea. Maybe I will try it myself. I would like to see the finnal effect once pants are dry.
Yeah I should’ve separated the two pant legs better so that didn’t happen but if you look at the thumbnail of the video that is the washer and dry version. All you have to do to avoid that yellow on the other pant is keep them separated better than I did though 😊👖🌈
I got a pair of white jeans at the Goodwill a couple weeks ago and I want to do a pleat fold up the sides... they sit across from me taunting me. I’m intimidated by the white! I need to just jump in and do them 😂. Does that ever happen to you? Get overwhelmed by an idea and have to think about it for awhile... ❤️🌈
Lol. All the time! Especially with my tapestry’s. Sometimes I even draw them out on paper before I even touch the blank because I don’t want to screw it up. Then I just remember that I’m far from perfect and whatever happens happens. It’s still tie dye and I tell myself it’s all part of the process. At least I try to😂😂😂
I’m not 100% sure but black dye usually covers everything so my best guess would be yes you should be able to just dye it black without the bleaching. Hope this helps😊
Hey so I just tried this and the bleach ate up the jeans I used from forever 21 lol I got out the car and they ripped and my cheeks were exposed hahaha. What is the best denim to use so I can keep my lady parts not exposed? Thanks❤️
Oh no! Did you do the hydrogen peroxide bath after you rinsed the bleach out? That will neutralize the bleach so it won’t keep eating away at the jeans. But I don’t think the kind of jeans matters as long as they are cotton. Also how long did you let the bleach sit on the jeans?
@@RiahsTieDye I added bleach for about 2 days letting them sit out in bleach the whole time. It was taking forever for them to turn. I bet that is where I messed up and not putting them in the peroxide. I am trying to figure out what to do with the pants all ripped up. But I’m geeked to try and new pair. Just obviously a different way lol
Yeah 2 days is a long time so I’m sure that the bleach probably was just eating at your jeans the whole time. Definitely try 100% bleach on the jeans but only a couple hours tops! And the hydrogen peroxide is 9 cups of water to 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and let the jeans sit in there for 20 minutes after you rinse the bleach out.
Hi and thank you for your question. You could but because of the jean color the dye will not be as bright or show up as well on the jean material. It may even blend together making a brownish color with the lighter colors. Hope this helps😊
I’m sorry to hear that. The thickness of the jeans definitely matters and I world recommend no more than 30 minutes before throwing in the hydrogen peroxide bath. Hope this helps😊🌈
I use high quality fiber reactive dye powder from a company called Dharma Trading Company and I actually have a link to their website in the description box of my videos. Hope this helps😊

You’ll definitely have to bleach them first and I suppose you could tub dye them…which is dipping the bleached side on dye and water mix.

Yes they were ☺️💚
