27:00 They did neutralize the gate at 25:13. What I guess happened is those Galatians descended from the gatehouse, attacked Egyptians' rear and were in turn attacked in rear by Egyptian reinforcements, pushing attackers out of Gatehouse's sphere and thus capturing it back.
Very interesting battle. I was able to finish my snacks and drinks Although I’m with you about the last three minutes. I happen to agree with you Joe in that defending that front tower and throwing unit after units is very very risky. I’m guilty of it many times. Interesting army comps again. The delay tort attacks are great. This is why I always suggest on attack one tort faction one guerilla faction and one ton of towers faction. Sparta was smart not to throw in many give his total units. Defenders put up a pretty dood defense. Comments great arrows are better. Keep the battles coming bud!
I know I am not a true siege boi but a heads up both the eastern javelin men and slingers actually have a 50% missile block chance and are only let down by there low armor and extremely low morale. The Javelins especially as long they don't lose models too fast can pay for themselves very quickly with that 41 missile damage. Eastern Archers on the other hand I don't think are that good in a siege sure they are decent for the price but are notorious for shattering in a missile on missile fight as they share the low armor low morale of their eastern brothers but have no block chance. Still even though they lost it was cool to see someone use eastern javs well I think they are an overlooked unit in a lot of game types. GJ Armenia Player.
The Spartans racked up some kills fast while not in hoplite wall. What's your view on that, Joe? Do they perform better as an attacking unit when not in hoplite wall like the shieldwall with sworded units? Loving your content as always! ~Flandalf
I know I am not Joe but patch 20 really hurt most mobile formations. You can't charge with infantry while in shield wall or hoplite wall so you have to charge then activate the formation after and run the risk of the formation bug where your units just shift or face the wrong way and take lots of free hits without fight back. When CA was removing spaghetti lines they did some really weird things with the pathing of individual models in units. Oversimplified basically infantry sticks together way more. Now why is this bad? Well even with formation attack off your unit has a very high urge to clump especially the non barbs with tighter spacing. This makes the formation bug even more likely. Though if you can get a good charge wait a few sec and get a Spartan into hoplite wall without it bugging out you will do better because of the hidden +5 bonus vs infantry the formation gives you. Potential if you are not gonna charge and just sit there and take it then you can just use hoplite wall and brace. Though I sure most people will either ignore you (you are very slow) or worse pull up and shower you with missiles and while Spartans have 50% block chance hoplite wall packs you together and doesn't actually give you any block chance so being tightly packed makes you more vulnerable to projectiles. TLDR if you can get into it without it bugging out, you will do noticeably better against most infantry (not cav) but if it bugs and you don't notice you may lose a fight you should have won.

Ahh ok, thank you!
I also like Cartage because it is an offensive friendly map. I think defenders hold the front wall too long because it is very hard to defend.
I can agree with you on that statement.
