Happy Holidays! I don't start projects on holidays or other special occasions. Great projects, a few patterns I hadn't seen before. Good luck with all your year end goals.
I started Dasher and Dancer last year on Christmas and have worked on it every 25th of the month. Yesterday was Christmas and stitched on it again and also started Liz Mathew’s Fa La La La.
We were visiting my mother out of state this year, so I didn’t have a new start on Christmas Day. I did, however, take some stitching with me! Happy New Year!
Almost missed this episode -- I've been watching a lot of "flossmas" and 'vlogmas' and passed by this notification until this afternoon. Good to see you! Your quilt of the day is delightful. I too like Thimbleberries patterns and fabric, and years ago bought a kit -- I think it was sort of a BOM -- for two pieced throws, "Sunrise" and "Sunset". I didn't put them together for a long time but in the last few years have finished both of them. Moreover, I had *so* much fabric left I've made another two throws -- and still have some fabric left! I recognize that dark red with gold stars in that narrow border, Carol, and also the light gold print in the four-pointed stars ('friendship stars'). What fun!
I don’t usually start a new project on Christmas but I do start a new project on New Year’s Day! I’m usually trying to finish a project on Christmas Day! I’m always behind! We have our family celebration on the 27th or 28th now that the kids are older and they celebrate their own Christmas at home! You guys crack me up! Carol, I have kitted up the same pattern twice many times! I was just going through some quilting projects and discovered I bought the same kit for a Valentines Day pillow twice! Can I just say I have way too many projects kitted up! Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I will not be able to see your next Flosstube until 2025!
I enjoyed your video. So many beautiful projects! I’m stitching a Santa Chef which is a kit from The Silver Needle. Their Secret Needle Night kits are always fun to stitch because they come with specialty threads, buttons and a nice fabric. I probably won’t start anything new because I will have a houseful for dinner and will be baking up til Christmas! Have a Merry Christmas!
I will not be starting anything on Christmas. I have three large projects that I would like to finish and two projects from the classes at the Jingle Ball. Carol, I am right there with you with have to clean my craft room. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy New Year!
Happy Holidays ladies! Loved seeing everything you showed. We celebrate Christmas. I will not be starting anything on Christmas Day. It will be a busy day as I am hosting my family for brunch and have my adult girls at home for the holidays. So I spend time with them. I typically only start projects when the desire strikes me or when I have completed a project and am ready to start another one. I do not have more than maybe a dozen WIPs. Don't like too many things on the go. 😁 Take Care
Happy Holidays to you and yours! I am basically a monogamous stitcher and I am usually not ready to start a new project on a holiday or special occasion. It hasn’t worked out so far anyway. LOL To answer Jennifer’s question, I only iron an EverEmblem name tag on my cross stitch. I make the quilt labels with a lot more information. Happy stitching!
Another great video. I have the Mill Hill book with the alphabet in it. I stitched the Welcome banner and was also shocked at the cost of all the charms and beads. But they are beautiful and a real treasure I will start a Prairie schooler Santa on Christmas if I have the energy.
Lizzie Kate! I 💗Lizzie Kate and have finished several over the years. I have two on my living room wall: "I am only one" and "My To-do List". I just finished "You May Touch the Dust..." and want to put it into a flatfold for a friend. Your discussion makes me want to take out "Cat Rules for People" (I think that's the title), kit it up (I have fabric that will work) and do it in the coming year. I have another couple of small ones I could do too...
I saw the Scissor Tail pattern on Instagram and immediately added it to my cart. ❄️ We open gifts one at a time as well. But also have a small family. I'd like to start a new project but probably won't that day. Maybe the day after. 🙂
Wishing both of you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! You have many beautiful stitches in this video! Thank you for sharing. To answer the question, I do not stitch on Christmas day to celebrate the occasion. I'm too darn busy. And then I'm exhausted. We start rather late and finish even later in the evening. No stitching here!
As far as starting something on Christmas. Yes, I'm sure I will as I am receiving the Kitten Stitcher Advent Box as a Christmas present. I want to open it all on Christmas Day so I have been avoiding watching any fosstubes with those who are opening it up daily.
I planned three starts for our stitch group's Advent stitch activity. So far I started my first reproduction sampler, but did not start anything else so far. I am close to a finish with another Advent WIP, so I want to do that first. I really enjoyed making WIP progress at Jingle Ball, so may scrub starts until my next retreat on Jan 26.
Hi gals. I loventhe wine & stitching combo. I think I'll give that a try. 😉 So sweet to share the year charms with us (no, thank you), along with your time and inspiration. You are a joy in our lives. I normally have a "new year new start" piece but I'm really liking all that I'm stitching right now so I think I'll pass this time. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Great wishes for a blessed year to come. ❤ Feel better, Jenna.
Thank you for sharing!💚 Carol, your red dish FFO is fantastic! No, I do not plan to have a new start for Christmas. But, that doesn’t mean I won’t start something(s) new. 😂 I am such a planner IRL, but I am not good at planning my stitching and crafting life. I work on what I feel like when I feel like, and that usually means monogamous until finished. Maybe I will try a new process in 2025…
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Carol and Jennifer. I love seeing all your creations on all your videos and enjoy the relationship between you both. Carol your Christmas Alphabet pattern is so beautiful, please share the design name. Thanks for another great video. Oh, I love your light blue sweatshirts you are both wearing. See you in your next video.
merry Christmas to you all. I have never started something new on any holiday that is not to say I won't but I do not have a plan except for NYD - G Leger' (which has been kitted for 3 yrs)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! I am pretty much a monogamous stitcher. I don't think I have ever participated in a holiday or birthday new start. I have participated in several SAL's or series with Hands on Designs, County Cottage Sampling and Fat Quarter Shop.
Thank you for this good video! I want to say something about signing projects, I've got a quilt from my Mom and I do NOT know who made it (would love to know), I try very hard to sign my things because it is soooo nice to know who, when, where! I have an embroidery piece I got at sale and no idea when it was done or who made it. It's so nice to look back especially if the piece is from someone in the family. Also I always sign my quilts. I love your girls, your pieces are so pretty. Carol I love your shirt! I just bought a pattern for small Christmas ornaments I'm going to work on. Have a wonderful holiday to your both!
Thank you for a wonderfully entertaining video! You two are always so much fun to watch. Am I the only one who thought it was ironic that Carol bought the knitting pattern and yarn twice for a project called Ditto?! lol! I celebrate Christmas but it is too busy of a day to start a new cross stitch project. Maybe I will start something on New Year’s Day. Happy Holidays to you both!
This year I have already started stitching on the pattern I will do on Christmas day stitch. I am stitching Jim Shore's 12 Days Santa. He has 2 designs with similiar names. I am doing the one with the blue & white quilt design behind santa. On Jan 1 I will start The Reindeer from A Year in the Woods series by Cottage Garden Samplings.
I had to chuckle when Carol brought out her knitting and said she had bought and kitted it up twice, with the exact same wool. But it was ironic that the pattern was called Ditto, which means the exact same thing, Lol! Thank you both for keeping me entertained with you floss tubes and keeping me on track with your FFO challenge through the year. I plan to start 'Mary Allcorn 1764' on Christmas Day and start my new Chatelaine, 'Humming Bird Lace Mandala' on New Years Day, if all goes to plan. Wishing you both a very Happy Christmas and a very 'Stitchy' New Year🎄🎅☃
I was so excited to see that you had a new video out. Always get a kick out of watching the two of you showing off your projects. You guys inspire my juices to get stitching, sewing or crochet. If I may ask Carol, where did you get your sweatshirt with the cardinals? Ever since living in Arizona where they came every year I have been obsessed. I have made an attic window quilt with them, stitched them, and I'm now on the lookout for a crochet pattern... May you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.....❤❤ 😊🎅🤶🧑🎄🎁🎄🎉🎉
Happy birthday Carol, and Happy Holidays to you & yours! I'm probably not going to do a Christmas start because I want to do the pigeon coop SAL on the 21st this year. I might do a New Year's start though, I haven't decided yet. P.S. I love the snowman quilt! 🎉❄️⛄
Merry Christmas! I am working Christmas Day (and Eve). I am hoping it won’t be a busy day and to work on organizing my overdyed threads. I like one till done stitching and hope to finish a pattern I started yesterday by the end of the year. So, no new start for me.
RE: the Question of the Day: Yes. I will be starting a project on Xmas Day and another on New Year's Day. The Xmas Day start might even get finished by the end of the year -- it's from Hands On Design, and it's "Gather Memories". I have it and another ("Gather Blessings") kitted up and ready to go. I don't know if I'll do the latter right after the Xmas Day start or not, because on Jan. 1 I want to begin a different piece -- as my first try at a "blessing" sampler, which means it has to be finished in the month. That one is also kitted and ready to go -- it's from The Wishing Thorn, and it's "The Swan Sampler". 🙂 Merry Christmas to both of you and all your family, and Happy New Year too!
Thank you so much. You certainly cheer us all up. Your stitching is fantastic. I don’t usually start a Christmas Day stitch because we are with family who don’t stitch! As well as my little grandson who is nearly 4 and just wants to swim with Mimi! Have a wonderful festive season and all the best for 2025. Thank you for continually coming back and entertaining us x
Your Lizzie Kate Green Flip it's came out great! We can absolutely do another Lizzie Kate Series SAL next year. I was gifted the Halloween Rules and I have several other charts. Want to keep the same hashtag? I hope you both and all of your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎉
Love the qod & your previous finishes Carol. Love your dancer piece & Lizzy Kate. Glad for Jenna on her success with her 1st production but sorry we missed her but hope she feels better soon.🙏🩷 We Canadians are possibly seeing the end of the postal strike this week. 🙏 Have a super holiday ladies ❤
I may be happily stitching on a Christmas Socking while waiting for my daughter and grand daughter who are flying in late on Christmas Day…getting here between 11 and midnight!!🎶🎄I may be so excited I can’t count! I hope you and your families have a blessed Christmas! Thank you for a fun year and I look forward to your WIP parade and stitching with you in 2025! 🥰
You both saved my sanity today, thank you so much, love watching your videos. I never plan my stitching because life has a way of interrupting my plans! Have a very Happy, Merry, Healthy Holiday & I do look forward to seeing you next year! 🎄🎅🏻🥳
Hi friends!!! Thanks for another fun video. I loved hearing your “plans” and I have been mulling over my plans for the new year. Carol, I love your idea to do an ornament a month!!! Boy, that would be so much easier to just do one each month, rather than feel the pressure at the end of the year (like we always do 🤪). Can’t wait to see what Jennifer completes in the next few weeks! Ambitious, but I have no doubt she will get the list complete ☺️. Also, I was raised with opening our presents just like you do-and I always loved that mom made us do it that way. That way the day lasts longer & everyone has to watch & see what everyone received. Gosh, I sure miss the holidays with my family. Wishing you & yours a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Thanks for another lovely visit with you😊. I don't do a special start for the holidays. I'm too busy and exhausted to stitch 😂. If I do get any stitching in, it's going to be something I'm already working on. Wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday Carol!
Hi ladies. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos. I love your visits! Congratulations on your beautiful finishes. Clever idea using that button pack, Jen. Merry Christmas! ⚘️ I've never done starts on certain days, but may do a birthday start in January, trying silk for the first time (Die Farben des Wassers).
Merry Christmas and all things Merry and Bright to you both and your family. Such a fun update and always laughter! Thank you for sharing all the stitching, quilting goodness.
Happy Birthday Karol!!! I know you will have a great day with your family. The earrings are beautiful. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for you and your families. I do not start anything in those holidays.
I made several Thimbleberries patterns back in the day, love them. When I was a child we used to have family reunions at Turkey Run and had lots of fun. Wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas 🙏🏻.
Wishing you and your families Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...we hope the weather allows our grandgirls to be with us...they want help with knitting, crochet and quilting...best wishes ❤
Thanks for sharing your lovely stitching and ideas. Happy Holidays to you both you and your family!🎄 Also Happy Birthday 🎉. I like to start one of my Christmas gifts on Christmas. Have a good week.😊🪡🎄
Glad to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving and early Christmas with family! And yeah that you're going to join in on the Pigeon Coop bird sal! I still need to finalize which one I want to do. I've started a Christmas day stitch in the past. I don't have any plans this year, but you never know!
I never have time to start a project on a holiday. I wish I could! But I will start a new pattern after new years day. Have a merry Christmas and happy new year!!
Another fun update ladies. Due to the SAL I was motivated to finish Lizzie Kate's 3 little words in 2024. I have a couple more LK series to work on so lets keep the SAL going. I've been stitching for decades and have many older patterns that I still want to stitch so I plan to pick a few of these older patterns to stitch in 2025. I plan to start Lindy Stiches Peppermint Candy on Christmas Day. Happy Holidays!
Just a joy to watch your movie. I only do one project at a time so that is what this Holy Merry Christmas will have me work on in between all activities.
So sweet to catch up with both of you. I have a first Great Grandchild ( little boy Myles) so I will start something for his room on Christmas Day. Hugs to both of you❤
No I don't start anything on Christmas Day- I just keep stiyching what I am already stitching. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year. You guys are a hoot!
I do not plan to have a Christmas start. I'm a monogamous stitcher so I'll just be stitching on whatever I'm stitching on that evening,.. Wishing you both a relaxing holiday season with lots of family time and crafting time. Hope you accomplish all your goals, Jennifer and hope you get some snow, Carol. Maybe you will get some on your birthday!
Love the floss tube today. So many fun finishes. I did start a Santa a couple years ago on Christmas. Might be something fun to do this Christmas and have a fun new start. I’ll have to think about what that will be. I have so many projects that I’m excited to start stitching. Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I don’t usually have a new start on Christmas Day. I normally do get something started between Christmas and New Years.
Thank you so much for another year of great flosstube videos and for sharing all of your crafts, quilts, and stitching. You both always make such lovely gifts for other people, and you probably finish a lot more things than you give yourselves credit for. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to seeing you again in the coming year. Wishing you and yours a warm and wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
Another fun video gals! I don’t do a Christmas start, but I do a New Year’s Day start. This year it a Tea Party by Flamingo Toes. I think it’s gorgeous…and also large!
I love all the finishes!! Happy Holidays to both of you. ❤ I celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah…and they are on the same day this year (well, Hanukkah starts on Christmas). If I have time, I will probably start something new. However, I do all the baking, cooking and wrapping for the holidays and I may just take a nap. 😂
I love the Lizzie Kate finish... the button addition was perfect! I love the cardinal design by Pigeon Coop - might have to join in! I do plan to start a project on Christmas Eve - one of my Jingle Ball purchases. And will start another new one on New Year's Eve - a blessings sampler by the Chris the Camper Stitcher!
I have not planned a new start for Christmas, mainly because I have several projects I want to finish by the year end. I do have a couple projects in my to do lineup, so I may reward myself with a new start on New Year's Day. Thanks for your great video!
Wishing you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for all the Flosstube goodness throughout the year. I have no idea if I will be starting something new on Christmas. That would require too much forethought. I will say that I hope I have time to stitch something during the holidays. ❤💚❤
Thank you for another great video, I hadn’t thought about starting a new project. However if I am home from the family with time to stitch I will have to plan this. I know I do have several new starts I can choose from. Definitely already have my new year new start panned for New Years Day. Merry Christmas to you both🌲
Another great video! I hope to find the wine tumblers and get one for my sister and myself.😀 I don’t usually start something new on Christmas Day, or even have a chance to stitch at all. We will see this year. Wishing your family a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
I always enjoy watching your podcast - thank you. There will definitely not be a new start on Christmas Day! However, I would like to start a new project before New Year's Day. I am not sure what - so many choices..... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you for another fun visit. I don't usually plan holiday new starts, as my kids sometimes gift me patterns, and I want to try to choose a gift to start (I have a lot of fabric and floss in stash). I do plan to do New Years starts...so far, I am planning to participate in 4 SALs for 2025, so have lots ready to go. We'll see if I get some sense soon and whittle that down, so I have a better chance of success! Happy stitching & Merry Christmas⛄🎄☃
We also open one at a time and start with the youngest…I’m last.D Ditto is a good name for a pattern you have 2 of. I plan to finish the Go Tell It On The Mountain trio by Annie the Proper Stitcher by Christmas and will start something new on Christmas, haven’t decided yet which Christmas chart it will be. Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
So fun once again 😂. I would love a couple of 2024 charms. The 2023 ones you sent were greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
Happy Holidays! I don't start projects on holidays or other special occasions. Great projects, a few patterns I hadn't seen before. Good luck with all your year end goals.

I didn't do a holiday start but my sister and I started Frosty Tiny Town on the winter solstice.
Well, I had no plans to do a start on Christmas Day but now that you ask, I will find something to start. 🦉🎄🎅🏼

Yes! Snow Village country cottage needleworks
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Carol and Jennifer.

@twotallstitchers Glad to hear you say that. I put up a short video about my 2025 Stitch alongs and I included that hashtag. 😆💖🧵🎉

Congrats! You have completed alot.💖&😯oooh!☝️"🤔I just have to add that book to my : I need that book bucket list.&☕merry christmas!💖🙂👍😎
Hi ladies. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos. I love your visits! Congratulations on your beautiful finishes. Clever idea using that button pack, Jen. Merry Christmas! ⚘️
I've never done starts on certain days, but may do a birthday start in January, trying silk for the first time (Die Farben des Wassers).
Merry Christmas! Thank You for all of the Wonderfull floss tubes - Love them all.
Thank you!!! I loved your Christmas sweat shirt. I love cardinals and these really pop on yours.
Keep up the good work girls❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing your lovely stitching and ideas. Happy Holidays to you both you and your family!🎄 Also Happy Birthday 🎉. I like to start one of my Christmas gifts on Christmas. Have a good week.😊🪡🎄
Merry Christmas to you both from a hot Aussie, thanks for all the great floss tubes and best wishes for 2925.
Due to the SAL I was motivated
to finish Lizzie Kate's 3 little words in 2024.
So fun! What a great update :) Merry Christmas to you both! Enjoy your time with family and happy stitching 💜
So sweet to catch up with both of you. I have a first Great Grandchild ( little boy Myles) so I will start something for his room on Christmas Day.
Hugs to both of you❤
Congrats Janey!
No I don't start anything on Christmas Day- I just keep stiyching what I am already stitching. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year. You guys are a hoot!
Merry Christmas! I love your interactions with each other. I may start a project on Christmas but have to see how busy we are.
Thank you Lorraine!
Merry Christmas Ladies many blessings to you both.
Another fun video gals! I don’t do a Christmas start, but I do a New Year’s Day start. This year it a Tea Party by Flamingo Toes. I think it’s gorgeous…and also large!
I’m newly back to cross stitch. I love the idea of a new start on Christmas. Now to pick one,
I'm always happy to see you have a video out. Have a wonderful holiday.
Thanks for sharing! Happy Holidays 🎄
Holidays are probably the only days I DON’T stitch at all. Too busy.
I do plan to start a new project on Christmas and New Years Eve.
We open gifts one at a time ❤
Happy holidays
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for the video. I always marvel at your creativity!
Happy Holidays. Xmas day is always a cooking marathon from breakfast on so new starts for me. I will have a New Year’s start.
Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year to you both ! I have not planned a new start on Christmas, but who knows that could change🙃
🤔I thought I already did.🥴subscribed today.💖☕👍😎
Happiest of birthdays to you and Merry Christmas to all!
Wishing you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for all the Flosstube goodness throughout the year. I have no idea if I will be starting something new on Christmas. That would require too much forethought. I will say that I hope I have time to stitch something during the holidays. ❤💚❤
Happy Holidays to you also. Always enjoy watching your videos. I will start a project for Christmas. O Holy Night by Stoney Creek.
Thank you for another great video, I hadn’t thought about starting a new project. However if I am home from the family with time to stitch I will have to plan this. I know I do have several new starts I can choose from. Definitely already have my new year new start panned for New Years Day. Merry Christmas to you both🌲
Beautiful finishes love snowman quilt
Merry Christmas and a blessed 2025 ladies!🎄🎁
Another great video! I hope to find the wine tumblers and get one for my sister and myself.😀 I don’t usually start something new on Christmas Day, or even have a chance to stitch at all. We will see this year. Wishing your family a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Happy holidays!! Always enjoy your videos.
Happy Holidays! 🎄🎄🎄🪡🪡🪡
I always enjoy watching your podcast - thank you. There will definitely not be a new start on Christmas Day! However, I would like to start a new project before New Year's Day. I am not sure what - so many choices..... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Love watching you ladies!!!!!🎉
Thank you for another fun visit. I don't usually plan holiday new starts, as my kids sometimes gift me patterns, and I want to try to choose a gift to start (I have a lot of fabric and floss in stash). I do plan to do New Years starts...so far, I am planning to participate in 4 SALs for 2025, so have lots ready to go. We'll see if I get some sense soon and whittle that down, so I have a better chance of success! Happy stitching & Merry Christmas⛄🎄☃
Make it 24 in 24, saves you one. Love your show.
I love all the stitching fun you do could you tell me where you can purchase your reindeer patterns
We will check and share on our next episode.
🎁🎄❤️
I am a monogamous stitcher, so I don’t ever plan to start something on a specific day. So if I finish something before then, maybe?
I got that magazine because of the bigger poinsettia pillow. Don't like ornaments so much
I am a monogamous Stitcher for the most part, so I will not have a special start for Christmas. Merry Christmas
