Thanks for covering women's sports. In my eyes, Heather Jackson is a HUGE dark horse in this race. Her limited experience in Ultra's wont weigh her down as she is a gutsy competitor and has already shown what she can do, I suspect this course will really suit her. Courtney 1st, Heather 2nd.
Whilst I 100% agree that Heather is a dark horse, I’m just not convinced she’ll finish that high up, main reason being that the most elevation she’s faced was at Black Canyon - around 3000ft. WS has 18000ft. Also, at BC & JJ she went out hard and faded in the latter stages, hopefully she’s learned from that though. Not to say she can’t win and I always love a surprise! I’ve got her 8th on my top10 picks currently, but may change that.
Heather Jackson might be another contender. She's a "rookie" , but she has been finishing in the top 5 over the past year. This field will be stacked and its def up in the air.
I love this video!! I so appreciate the care and effort you put into highlighting women pros. Though we've seen an increase in coverage recently, women's sports are still constantly brushed aside to allow more coverage of the men. Thank you!!
Little tidbit for y’all: That 2018 second place performance at Black Canyon from Courtney was 2 weeks after she won Sean O’Brien, a golden ticket race at the time.
I’m well aware of her and a big fan, definitely a dark horse. There’s 10+ women I would’ve loved to speak about but couldn’t include everyone so went with 5 that interest me the most. Excited to see how she gets on.
Another to watch out for is one of Ida’s coaching clients, Eszter Csillag, who finished 5th at UTMB last year and 4th in WTRC (just behind Ida) - she’s a complete badass
I think podium would be a huge ask, there’s women in this field with far more experience over courses as difficult as WS. I’d compare it to when Camille first came to WS, she already had multiple world records and world championship wins on the road/track. So clearly, like Heather, an amazing athlete but she’s struggled on this course and in 3 attempts has gone DNF, 26th and then 8th last year. I think a top10 for Heather, at her first WS would be amazing!
Courtney first , Katie Schides second, Camille third and Heather 4th. But I think Jenny Quilty and Wen-Fei Xie could cause some trouble. I was at Doi Intahnon in Thailand both are super strong.
Heather Jackson Dark Horse
100% agree!
Came to say this.
And me

Super excited to see how Heather Jackson races WS! Very exciting field!
Heather Jackson! She has the endurance background, the passion and the mental game to be a real contender. I can’t wait to watch her performance!

I’m glad you enjoyed! The Women in our sport are amazing and this race has so many of them that could win, it’s going to be an exciting watch.

Umm nothing on Heather Jackson? We’ll see how things turn out but I guarantee that eventually you WILL know her name!

Ida Nilsson! First 100 miler but will be a contender as long as she is still running.
You haven't mentioned Claire Bannwarth.😋 I don't know how she will manage the flat sections but she's clearly unstoppable !!!
I would not be shocked to see Kaci Lickteig pull off a top 10 female finish or better.
Great video, although as a 60+-year-old ultra runner, I would not call Camille an older runner :)
Ida Nilsson
Great shout! She ran a great race at Canyons - definite contender.

I'd like to see Heather Jackson up there !
Courtney, Camille and Heather are my favorite! I would love to see any of them on the podium!
Heather Jackson will podium for sure 🎉💪
HJ on the podium! but she’s new to ultras so I forgive you for overlooking her. 😂

LetsGO Camille!

Heather Jackson will be in the mix forsure
For sure! Will be exciting to see how she gets on.
No mention of Heather Jackson.
I think she is going to be a top 5 woman finisher
Fantastic content. This year is even more 1 to watch with the women's field being so stacked even beyond the amazing wormn you profiled here.
Thank you 🙏
Yes, so many amazing women, I could’ve talked about 10+ contenders if I had the time, it’s going to be a fun one to watch!
Taylor Nowlin has the capability to be in the top 5
Awesome video! Looking forward to more in the future
Thank you! Plenty more to come for sure.
Year of upsets on deck.
Hard to see past Courtney. Would love to see Katie win, she’s such a great runner to watch and her coach has a huge amount of States experience.
I’d LOVE to see Katie win this, but agree the heat may push it to Courtney again.
Great preview.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed 🙏
Courtney will 🏆 🎉
Great video!!!
Thank you!!
First time seeing their crew at mile 30 at Michigan Bluff? (7:30) Are there course changes because of the snow?
Robinson Flat, I believe. Cheers.
No Ruth Croft ? Is she running this year?🤔
Not running this year. Top 4 from last year all not returning. Highest returning from last year is Emily Hawgood F5
Going to be a fun one!!
Yep, very excited to see how it unfolds!
